Vol. 1 Chapter 8 - Brunhilda
A.D. 867 Kingdom of Northumbria, village of Oxford

A week has passed since we finished building the mill.. now im headed to the village of Oxford.. the closest 'market' to Ragnar's Farm..
"Top of the mornin to ya.. Ealdwulf.. what's crackin.. on this here.. fine day.. we are having.. my friend..?" I holler's at.. the village 'smith' as hes busy at his forge.. hammering on the blade of a sickle.. for one of the peasants who call Oxford home..
"Ahh.. Aethred.. beautiful day we're having.. Hilda been asking about ya.. for the last week atleast.. she's back at the house.. go on.. Im sure she will be excited to see you my boy.." Ealdwulf told me..
So I told him 'see-ya' later.. and headed on through the village.. passing by the peasants trying to sell their goods and wares.. just trying to feed and 'clothe' their children..
As I walk up to Ealdwulf's cabin.. I see her.. my prey.. daughter of Ealdwulf the 'smith'.. the Lady Brunhilda.. my target.. my future first mother of my 'pups'.. she was four years older.. and five inches taller than me.. she just turned sixteen at the beginning of the new year.. growing from an adolescent future-beauty.. 'transforming' into a tall.. fair-haired.. long-legged.. blonde-haired maiden..

"Ah.. if it isn't the young 'wolf'.. come to pay a visit to your 'queen'.. and to what do I owe the pleasure..?" She asks whilst smiling that beautiful smile at me..
"I have come to pick you up my dear.. I'd like you to come live with me on the farm.. I'll pamper you like a Queen.. you shall want for nothing.. thats my promise to you.. my love.. what do you say..?" I asked as my heart was almost beating out of my chest.. I knew I had to possess her.. I would lose sleep if I didn't.. thats something I can't have.. I need my rest at night.. I need my slumber to be 'restful' as possible..
"Aethred.. are you seriously asking me to come live with you..?" She asked looking at me waiting for a response..
"Yes I am.. atleast just come for a week.. I have a clean.. cozy.. hall for us to live in.. I have everything we need to grow a family in the future.. I must have you.. it's as simple as that.. so what say you.. my Hilda? Will you grant your 'wolf' his request my Queen..?" I ask her
"Ok.. I'll come with you.. my 'wolf'.. but you must give me your word.. you'll protect me.. and you'll always love me.. from now.. to the end of time.. if you promise me that.. I'll stay with you forever.." she says to me..
"Good.. I love it when a plan works out.. you'll love our home my dear.. just wait.. let's gather your things.. stop by the market for anything we may need.. or anything you may want my Queen.. and head on to our new home together.." I tell her excitedly.. then we headed off to take care of what we needed before going back to the farm..
Had to stop by the 'smithy' and let Ealdwulf know Im taking his daughter.. he will probably be excited.. having one less mouth to feed.. can make a world of difference in these times..

As we are walking up to my hall.. along the 'dirt' leading up to it.. I see Uhtred and Brida playing with Thyra.. chasing each other.. it's a beautiful place.. this Farm..
"Hey y'all.. come meet my wife.. Brunhilda.. she's y'all's new sister-in-law.. treat her with respect.. like you would treat me.." I greet and inform them of the arrival.. of their new sister..
"Hilda.. meet my siblings.. this young handsome 'chap' is Uhtred.. and this is Brida my sister.. and finally we have our adorable sister Thyra.." I told Hilda..
"Nice to meet all of you.. Im excited to be your new sister-in-law.." she told told them..
"We've heard a lot about you from Aethred.. welcome to the farm.." said Uhtred..
"Yea we get a new sister!.." Thyra shouts..
"Yep now we have another sister to play with Thyra.." Brida adds..

After we got all of Hilda's clothes and supplies all put up and away.. I watch her walk around our 'dwelling'.. "Like what you see..? This will be our first home together.. I hope you like it as much as I do.. I want to make you the happiest girl in the world.. I mean it.." I asked..
"Aethred.. it's perfect.. perfect for us to grow a family filled with children.. and filled with happiness.. I'll always be yours my 'wolf'.." she replied..
"Good because I'll never let you go.. never.." I told her.. then I started.. preparing for our first supper together..
