Chapter 262

There was no doubt that Albedo had completed what Takumi needed.

After quickly reading through the information, Takumi understood the requirements.

"Just upgrade the server here," he said. "Then, we can get the phone ready for testing."

If they wanted to send pictures, they would need to upgrade the server further.

Albedo had no objections. The test server was not currently in use, so upgrading it wouldn't be an issue.

He pointed toward the server in the corner. "There. Do it yourself."

Takumi didn't hesitate. He stepped forward and began working on the upgrade.

The server was already connected to the network but wasn't functional yet. It was simply an experimental device Albedo had used for testing.

In a short time, Takumi used the power of the Herrscher of Reason to upgrade the server.

Once that was done, he picked up the phone design blueprint that Albedo had given him and examined it.

Albedo had only upgraded the internal structure; he hadn't worked on the external design.

That meant Takumi had to handle the aesthetics himself.

After reviewing the materials, Takumi started brainstorming.

For the phone's design, it had to be a touchscreen model.

He quickly gathered all the necessary materials in his mind and simulated the build.

Before long, he had designed a phone specifically suited for Teyvat, modeled closely after devices from his past life.

Appearance was crucial.

He made sure the phone looked modern and sleek.

Additionally, he turned the icon on the back into a rough stone symbol.

All essential functions were integrated: music playback, photography, messaging, and more.

The internal components, however, were not standard electronics. Instead, they were powered by real alchemy.

The device looked like an ordinary modern phone from the outside, but if someone attempted to dismantle it, they would be left completely bewildered.

For battery power, electrical crystals were used as the energy source.

This would have to suffice until an alternative power supply was developed.

Perhaps the next research project should focus on creating a more efficient battery system.

Relying on Inazuma for electrical crystals was inconvenient, as the transportation process was tedious and time-consuming.

This reliance greatly limited their technological progress.

While contemplating these issues, Takumi completed a prototype phone.

Albedo's eyes lit up when he saw the finished product.

The design had a certain refined beauty.

However, he quickly noticed something odd.

"Why are there no buttons?" he asked.

Takumi crafted two phones, handing one to Albedo while keeping the other.

"If you want to operate it, just use your fingers to touch the screen," he explained.

"Let's test it by sending images."

"I also optimized the image transmission system."

"From now on, people will use this to communicate."

"I call it 'chat software.'"

"It allows sending messages and adding friends."

"You register using your phone number."

Albedo was stunned.

A touchscreen interface?

This guy was terrifying.

He had only given Takumi a blueprint, and Takumi had immediately upgraded it, optimizing the entire system.

Intrigued, Albedo began testing the phone.

He noticed buttons along the side and instinctively pressed one.

The screen lit up.

As he touched the screen, the phone instantly unlocked.

He was greeted by icons on the home screen, labeled with text:

"Photos, Settings, Calendar, Phone, Radio, Messages."

And most importantly—"Chat Software."

How had Takumi developed so many features so quickly?

Curious, Albedo tapped on the camera icon.

Immediately, the image of the ground beneath him appeared on the screen.

Realizing how it worked, he started snapping pictures of the objects around the room.

Each captured image was saved in a newly created "Album" folder.

Within minutes, Albedo had already mastered the phone's basic functions—navigating menus, opening and closing apps, and adjusting settings.

Takumi, observing him, was speechless.

Good grief, this guy didn't even need instructions?

"Let's add each other as friends and try sending pictures," Takumi suggested.

Albedo nodded, following the prompts to connect with Takumi via the chat software.

Takumi quickly sent a series of images.

Within seconds, Albedo received them.

As he explored the chat software, he noted that it supported text, images, and voice messaging.

"Is the voice function for people who struggle with typing?" he wondered aloud.

He also noticed there were no additional functions available yet.

"If I wanted to add new features, how would I do that?" Albedo asked, suddenly curious.

Takumi grinned.

"Because I made it directly, I bypassed the normal development process," he admitted.

"If you want new features or additional software, we'll need to apply the programming techniques used in Ruin Guards."

"You've seen how Ruin Guards follow specific commands when triggered, right?"

"Their core systems operate based on pre-programmed instructions."

"This software works similarly."

"Since we've built it on a connected network, we can modify or update the system remotely."

"Essentially, we can program new tools and features whenever needed."

"I call this concept 'programming.'"

"In fact, Khaenri'ah's programming techniques were quite advanced."

"They even had artificial intelligence, but they never properly developed the internet."

"Their technology was misapplied."

"Once we refine this system, I'll create a programming textbook."

"Then, we'll start teaching this subject in schools."

Albedo absorbed Takumi's words, processing the implications.

"So, if I want to modify anything, I can only do it through special instructions with proper authorization?" he clarified.

"Exactly," Takumi confirmed.

For now, only Takumi had full control over software updates.

Future improvements to the chat software would remain under his jurisdiction.

And perhaps, unexpected surprises lay ahead.
