Chapter 4

I lifted weakly the corners of my mouth.

"Since the surgery failed, can you give me my blood back?"

Hearing this, Nolan paused, his eyes involuntarily glancing towards Aria standing at the doorway.

He nervously patted my head and replied:

"Silly girl, your blood type is so rare, where would I find blood that matches yours? You just need to rest well, and everything will be fine."

Indeed, the person with a matching blood type was standing not far from me, but she's your precious darling, and you probably couldn't bear to let her lose even a drop of blood.

My heart instantly turned ice-cold, leaving me speechless.

Blaine's expression also grew somber. He came over and sat by my bed, gently stroking my hair, saying that when I got better, he'd take me to see the ocean.

I didn't respond, curling up under the covers.

Blaine continued to comfort me:

"I just made a pot of soup at noon, with all kinds of nourishing ingredients. I'll heat it up for you to drink right away."
