50. Bath Time… Gone Wrong

I couldn't believe I was actually taking a bath with my own sister.

"You happy now?" I asked, exasperated.

"Kinda," she replied. "After getting bullied at school, I knew you'd be the only one who would understand me."

I sighed, and without thinking, I said, "Sometimes bad things happen, Sharon. But that doesn't mean you have to go around making them everyone else's problem."

And oh, boy—I regretted those words the second they left my mouth. Sharon's expression shifted instantly, her pout deepening as she crossed her arms over her small chest.

"So, telling you about my bullying is me dumping my problems on you, huh?"

"No, that's not what I meant—"

"So that's how you really feel? That I'm just a burden?"

"Stop putting words in my mouth!" I shot back.
