With winter break approaching, Mahiru and I found more excuses to spend time together. Whether it was studying, watching movies, or simply sitting together with warm cups of tea, our moments together became my favorite part of every day.
One particularly cold afternoon, I noticed Mahiru shivering despite her thick coat. Without thinking, I shrugged off my own jacket and draped it over her shoulders.
She blinked up at me, her cheeks tinged pink. "Amane… you'll get cold."
"I can handle it. You're more important."
Her fingers clutched the fabric of my coat as she gave me a tender look. "You always say things like that so naturally now…"
I grinned. "I learned from the best."
Mahiru giggled, resting her head lightly against my shoulder. "Thank you, Amane."
And just like that, another beautiful winter memory was created.
