Chapter 32: A Dance Just for Us

The cultural festival had finally arrived, and after our play's successful performance, the school held an evening dance. I wasn't one for dancing, but Mahiru insisted.

"You have no choice, Amane," she teased, pulling me toward the courtyard where soft lights twinkled in the night.

I awkwardly placed my hands on her waist as she wrapped hers around my neck. The moment we swayed to the soft music, all my nervousness melted away.

"I could get used to this," I admitted, watching the way her eyes sparkled under the lantern lights.

Mahiru smiled, resting her head against me. "Me too."

And as we danced, I realized—this moment would be one I cherished forever.
