Chapter 46: Building a Home Together

Settling into our new apartment wasn't just about arranging furniture or unpacking boxes—it was about adjusting to this new chapter of our lives together. Waking up beside Mahiru every morning felt surreal, yet perfectly natural. It was as if we had always been meant to share this space.

One morning, I woke up to find Mahiru already in the kitchen, wearing one of my shirts over her pajamas, humming softly as she prepared breakfast. The sight made my heart ache in the best way possible.

"You're up early," I murmured, walking up behind her and wrapping my arms around her waist.

She leaned into my embrace, smiling. "I wanted to make something special today. It's our first weekend living together, after all."

I pressed a kiss to her temple. "Everything you make is special."

She giggled. "You're getting better at saying sweet things."

It was moments like this that made me realize—we weren't just playing house. This was real. This was our home.

As the days passed, we began settling into a rhythm. Mornings were slow and peaceful, filled with shared cups of coffee and sleepy conversations. Evenings were warm and comforting, spent curled up on the couch, talking about our dreams. We weren't just living together; we were building a future, one small moment at a time.
