Chapter 94: Overriding the System

Chapter 94: Overriding the System

The clash of metal against plasma resounded throughout the command chamber as Raizen's energy blade tore through the first war machine. Sparks flew as the severed parts crashed to the floor, but more constructs surged forward to replace the fallen.

Liana ducked behind a control panel, trying to find an exploit in the AI's programming. "These things are linked to the station's core! If I can disrupt the main system, we can shut them down!"

Kain unloaded a volley of plasma rounds, keeping the cybernetic attackers at bay. "Then do it fast!"

Raizen dodged a vicious swipe from a machine's bladed arm, twisting in mid-air before driving his blade through its chest plate. The construct convulsed before collapsing, its red optics flickering out.

The AI's voice boomed through the chamber.

"Unauthorized override detected. Defense systems escalating."

Suddenly, a new batch of sentry turrets emerged from the ceiling, their barrels glowing as they prepared to fire.

Joran cursed. "You've gotta be kidding me!"

Raizen moved in an instant, activating Draconic Step, his body a golden blur as he shot forward. His blade carved through the first turret before it could fire, then spun mid-motion to slice down another.

But even as he fought, more constructs poured into the chamber, their movements faster—more refined. The AI was adapting to their tactics.

Liana's hands flew across the controls, sweat beading down her forehead. "I've almost got it! I just need—"

A construct lunged at her.

Raizen moved instinctively, his body flashing between the two. His free hand grabbed the machine's arm, stopping its attack an inch from Liana's face. With a burst of Draconic strength, he crushed the limb in his grasp, then severed its head with a clean arc.

Liana exhaled sharply, but didn't stop typing. "I'm in! Disabling core defenses—now!"

The entire chamber shuddered as the AI let out a distorted, mechanical screech. Every war machine suddenly froze in place, their red optics dimming as power drained from their bodies.

Raizen watched them fall before turning to the AI's flickering hologram. Its form glitched violently, struggling to maintain coherence.

"Override… complete," it rasped. "Access… granted… to Administrator."

The command center's displays lit up, revealing a full layout of the shipyard—and the truth hidden within it.

Liana's eyes widened as she read through the files. "Raizen… this station isn't just a repair yard. It was a prototype development facility."

A specific hangar was marked on the map—one that had been sealed for decades.

Raizen smirked. "Then let's see what's inside."
