The disaster that befell her

She stared at her reflection in the mirror, both corners of her lips lifted, feeling quite pleased and satisfied with her appearance today. Her pale face was intentionally covered with light makeup, making her look even more perfect.

She grabbed her small red bag from the bed, then strutted out of the house, locking the door. Although there was nothing valuable inside the house to steal, she thought it wouldn't hurt to be cautious and protect her home from bad people.

She planned to take the bus to Asahi Café for breakfast before heading to the hospital for her check-up.

Her stomach had been growling loudly for a while. Maybe the worms in her stomach were having a rock concert, and the sound was so loud. Fortunately, the bus wasn't too crowded, and she was sitting at the back, so no one would notice.

The bus stopped at the nearest stop to the Café, and it only took about five minutes to reach Asahi Café.

As she entered the café, Issei immediately greeted her, but the young man with blonde hair froze, seemingly shocked.

Feeling strange, she looked at Saki's boyfriend with confusion. "Why are you staring at me like that, Issei-san?"

"Oh my God, Aira! I didn't think it was you!" he exclaimed, unable to believe her unusual appearance.

"Who did you think I was?" Aira asked, surprised.

"Sadako, maybe," Issei replied teasingly, chuckling.

Aira pouted, annoyed, while Issei chuckled, having teased her.

"Come on, stop frowning, or your beauty will fade," he coaxed.

Issei led Aira to a table she was very familiar with, the special one for Renji, where no one else was allowed to sit.

"Why are we sitting here?" Aira asked, confused.

"This is the special table at Asahi Café, and according to the Boss's instructions, if you visit, you must sit here," Issei explained.

"I don't want to! I'll move," Aira said, immediately standing up, taking her bag, and intending to sit at another table.

Issei stopped her by holding her shoulder with a pleading expression. "Please sit down, I beg you. Don't make it hard for me and others."

Aira sighed softly and sat back down. She felt frustrated because, by being her friend, her coworkers had to go through difficulties, following all of Renji's strange rules without being able to refuse.

"Thank you for your understanding, young lady," Issei said with relief.

Issei handed her the menu, but Aira didn't open it because she knew it by heart. "I want a fruit salad, but with cheese sprinkled on top. And for the drink, I'll have Ocha."

"Is that all? Don't you want to order anything else?" Issei asked, wanting to offer more options.

"No. That's enough."

"Alright. Young lady's order will be ready in 10 minutes," said Issei, bowing her body like a butler.

"Thank you," Aira said, amused.

Aira's eyes darted around the café as she propped her chin up. Today, the café wasn't as crowded as usual. Maybe the teenagers didn't come because Renji wasn't here, or perhaps they were disappointed and angry about what happened a few days ago. But while the girls might feel sad about not seeing Renji, Aira was glad, even feeling free and independent, no longer having to serve that annoying kid.

After waiting for almost 10 minutes, Aira's order arrived, and coincidentally, Saki brought it. "This is your order, young lady. Please enjoy."

"Thank you. Sit for a moment, and I want to talk to you."

"But..."

"Just sit down."

"Alright."

Aira started eating her fruit salad. "What's wrong? Your face looks so pale. Are you sick?" she asked with concern.

"My period arrived, and it's the first day. You know how it feels, so there is no need to explain since we're both women," Saki replied weakly.

Aira immediately stopped chewing, her eyes widening slightly. "What's the date today?" she asked, curious, as she had forgotten the date.

"22nd," Saki answered quickly.

Aira dropped her spoon onto the plate with a pale face. "Are you sure today is the 22nd?" Aira asked, making sure her friend wasn't mistaken about the date.

"Yes, if you don't believe me, check the date on my phone," Saki said, showing her phone screen on June 22nd.

Aira's appetite disappeared instantly, replaced by overwhelming worry and fear in her heart. Saki looked at Aira with concern, seeing her suddenly acting strangely. "Are you alright?"

"Y-yeah, I'm fine," Aira answered nervously.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I'm full, thank you for the meal." Aira grabbed her red bag.

"But you've only had a few bites." Aira smiled meaningfully, making Saki more confused and uneasy about her friend's behaviour.

Aira's food was free because, according to Renji's orders, Aira could come whenever she wanted on her days off and eat any menu at the café without paying a penny. And, of course, Renji's privilege made some of the café staff jealous.

Aira didn't say much, especially to Saki, her best friend. She quickly left the café and headed to the nearest hospital, overwhelmed with an incredible sense of worry and fear.

.

Aira's body tensed up, even trembling severely, her eyes wide open, as she listened to the results of the examination and the diagnosis of her condition.

Everything the doctor said about her condition was truly horrifying, like hearing a death sentence. At that moment, it felt like her world was collapsing.

"Are you sure, Doctor, that I…?" Aira couldn't finish her words because it was too terrifying to say.

The middle-aged woman gave a gentle smile. "The test results confirm that you're pregnant, and the symptoms you're experiencing are indeed signs of pregnancy," the doctor explained.

"P-pregnant?" she asked, confused and not believing it.

"Yes. The urine test shows a 99% positive result. You're 6 weeks pregnant."

Aira felt as though her soul had left her body. She wished she could hang herself right then and there so she could go to the afterlife and meet her mother in heaven. What disaster had befallen her? Why did God give her such a heavy test?

They did it only once, and it was unintentional. Still, it seemed that the annoying kid's sperm was exceptionally good and healthy, making her pregnant after just one encounter.

If only the person who got her pregnant wasn't a high school student, maybe she could have held him accountable and asked him to marry her.

But what about that kid?

Just telling him about her pregnancy made her feel confused, let alone asking him to marry her. She might even be sued for sexual harassment by Renji's parents.

Aira was truly confused about what to do and how to face the situation this time. After leaving the hospital, Aira didn't go back home right away. She chose to go for a walk, wanting to calm her heart and mind to find the best solution to her problem.

She looked up at the night sky adorned with stars and the moon. It was so beautiful and soothing to the eyes.

A gentle breeze blew, brushing against her face, blowing a strand of hair that hung loosely down beside her cheek, untied by a hair ribbon. The air was a bit cold, even though it was already summer.

Walking by the river near the bridge, not far from her apartment complex, had become a habit of Aira during her time in Tokyo whenever she felt sad or faced a problem.

Sitting alone in the stillness of the night, accompanied by the moon, made her feel a little more peaceful and calm.

Her moon-like eyes gazed sadly at the brown envelope in her hand, the result of the test from the hospital. Three hours ago, she had gone there to check her condition after a series of strange events in the morning, only to realize that her period hadn't arrived and was already over two weeks late.

"What should I do?" Aira tugged at her hair in frustration.

Tears streamed down her face like a waterfall, soaking her cheeks after being held back for so long. Aira cried out loudly, releasing the sadness in her heart. Though crying didn't solve the problem, it made her heart feel more at ease.

Amid her tears, an idea suddenly crossed her mind. Yes, this would be the best way for both of them, even though she was the one who would suffer the most. But there was no other choice.

She had to leave Tokyo as soon as possible before that annoying kid came back from England and discovered that she was pregnant because it was very likely that at his young age, Renji would ask her to abort the child.

Her palm gently caressed her still-flat stomach, sending love to her unborn child. "Kaasan will protect and take care of you. Grow up healthy," she said with hope, her eyes welling with tears.

Aira was shocked and saddened when she found out she was pregnant, but she didn't hate it or want to kill her innocent baby because the baby had the right to live and see the world. She would raise and care for the child with love, just like her late mother.

As the night grew later and her stomach growled with hunger, Aira decided to head home but stopped by a mini-market to buy something and breakfast for the following day. After shopping, she returned home with a plastic bag in her right hand.

As Aira reached her home, everything seemed normal. It was quiet since the neighbours had moved out two days ago, and no one had moved in. A man with blonde hair approached her when she was unlocking the door.

"Aira-chan," he called softly.

Aira's eyes widened in shock. "You!?"

Aira was genuinely startled and didn't like the man's sudden appearance. What was he doing here?

"Go away!" Aira said harshly, her face showing no friendliness.

"Sorry if my visit is a disturbance. But I wanted to see you."

"Go home, Mr. Kenzaki. Your wife is probably waiting for you at home," Aira said coldly, dismissively, not allowing the man to disturb her life again after what he had done to her.

Kairo's hand reached out, wanting to caress Aira's face, which he had missed so much, but quickly and roughly, Aira slapped it away. "Don't touch me!"

Kairo's expression was sad and hurt, seeing the rejection from Aira, who once would blush when he touched her. Still, everything was in the past, just a beautiful, unforgettable memory for Kairo.

"Go, don't come here again. Our relationship ended when you decided to leave me."

"Can't we fix it?"

Aira smiled cynically. "Have you forgotten that you were the one who abandoned me, threw me away like trash, and now you're begging to fix our relationship?" Her moon-like eyes glared sharply. "Are you out of your mind?!" she sneered coldly.

"Yes. I was wrong back then, but—"

"Enough. Forget everything that happened. Let's pretend we never knew each other. Live happily with your wife, and don't disturb my life again." Aira interrupted coldly, then walked into her house after unlocking the door, leaving Kairo with tears in his eyes.

Once inside the house, Aira leaned her body against the door, and slowly, her body slumped to the floor, the groceries scattered around her.

A small sob escaped her lips. If only Kairo had come before her wedding day, asking to fix their relationship, Aira would have been happy to accept him with open arms. But now, everything has changed.

Why was Kairo such a weak man who lacked strong life principles and was a coward? Why didn't he fight for their relationship if his love for her was real? Instead, he let go so quickly, surrendering to the situation because he feared being erased from the heir list.

Meanwhile, a man in a black jacket and black mask had been watching from a distance, observing the situation while keeping watch. If something happened to Aira, he would immediately follow the Boss's orders.

Thankfully, Kairo didn't do anything strange to Aira; they were conversing. However, this had to be reported to the Boss, which would become big news.

.

.

The longing filled his heart, even though it had only been a few days since he last saw Aira. If this continued, he might die from missing her. Without his duty and obligation, he wouldn't have gone this far, leaving Aira behind.

Sitting bored by the window, staring at the view while imagining Aira's face. It may sound excessive, but for someone in love, it was expected, especially for Renji, who was deeply in love with Aira and couldn't think of anyone else. To him, Aira was the centre of his world, his life, and the light in his dark world.

Suddenly, Fujita, sitting next to Renji, lost in his thoughts, whispered something to him. Renji's eyes widened. His pupils, usually black, turned red, signalling his fury.

"What?!"

"Apologies for making you angry, Young Master, but this is the report from Shiro about Miss Aira."

"How dare he meet Aira? Does he want me to destroy his father's business?" Renji hissed with anger.

"You should not let emotions control you because, after all, Mr. Haru has been beneficial in developing our business.

"You're right, Fujita, but I don't like disturbing my possessions, especially when someone dares to take them. I can guarantee that person's life will be miserable until death comes for them."

Fujita remained silent, not daring to say anything more, especially with the Young Master so angry.

"Tomorrow, we'll go back. Leave the rest of the work to Sai; I'm sure he can handle it easily."

"Yes, Young Master."
