Ch 265 : Sabertooth's Internal Conflict

Night time, at the Saber Tooth guild's headquarters—Crocus Garden.

Sitting on the sofa in the hall, Jiemma's face was so dark it seemed like it could drip water.

He coldly stared at Sting and Rogue, who stood before him like defeated roosters.

"Sting, Rogue." Jiemma called out their names in a deep voice, then roared at them, "What kind of disgraceful state is this?"

Rogue lowered his head and spoke softly, "We lost completely. I have nothing to say. Even until his final blow, I could clearly feel that Natsu wasn't going all out. His strength… far surpasses our imagination… Natsu Dragneel."

"Is this something a member of the strongest guild should be saying? Huh?!"

Jiemma suddenly threw the cup in his hand, then stood up, his burly figure radiating a powerful sense of oppression that weighed heavily on Sting and Rogue.

"Who gave you permission to lose?"

As Jiemma's foot lightly stomped the ground, an invisible shockwave spread out from beneath him, carrying a soul-shaking force that sent the unprepared Rogue and Sting flying to the ground.

"How dare you tarnish the name of the strongest guild?!!"

"Rogue!" "Sting-kun!!"

Seeing this scene, Lector and Frosch, who were standing to the side, couldn't help but call out.

"You are not worthy of calling yourselves members of Saber Tooth!!!"

Jiemma, consumed by rage, punched Rogue in the face before kicking Sting in the stomach, sending them both flying.

"Get rid of it!! Erase the guild emblem!! My guild does not need weaklings!! I do not need losers!!"

Hearing Jiemma's words, everyone's expression changed slightly—they could all sense the unwavering determination in his tone.

Lector broke into a cold sweat, trembling as he stepped forward and said, "Come on, come on, Master… Sting-kun and Rogue-kun tried their best…."

Jiemma stared silently at Lector.

Though fear gripped his heart, Lector still continued, "Even though they lost this time, I am proud of Sting-kun."

"Lector…" Sting's voice trembled as he called out his name.

"I believe that after tasting defeat, a person becomes stronger. Sting-kun also learned a lot from this battle…"

"And who do you think you are?" Jiemma suddenly interrupted harshly, his voice stern and unyielding.

Lector was stunned for a moment, then lifted his back to reveal the Saber Tooth emblem.

Forcing a smile, he said, "Come on, Master, I have the Saber Tooth emblem on me—I'm an official member of the guild…."

"You think a mere cat or dog is worthy of bearing the noble emblem of Saber Tooth?"

Jiemma's expression darkened further as he suddenly stretched out his hand, now surging with terrifying magic power.

"Disappear from my sight!!"

Boom!

Jiemma moved so fast that Sting didn't even have time to react before an explosive burst of magic consumed the spot where Lector stood.

When the explosion settled, Lector was nowhere to be seen.

"Lector!!!!!!"

Seeing this scene, Sting let out a furious and grief-stricken roar, his body trembling as if struck by lightning.

Shimmering tears streamed uncontrollably from the corners of his eyes, his mind on the verge of total collapse.

Frosch covered his mouth, his voice trembling. "Ah… ahhh… Lector, he… he's gone."

Rogue, lying on the ground nearby, quickly pulled Frosch into his arms, shielding him protectively.

In a low voice, he called out, "Frosch…"

"Rogue…" Frosch trembled as he clung tightly to Rogue.

"So unsightly, so unsightly… a mere cat bearing the emblem of my guild…"

Even after everything, Jiemma continued to grumble, oblivious to the fact that Sting, who was sobbing helplessly on the ground, had a face that was growing more and more twisted with sheer, unrelenting rage—a madness only seen in those who had lost everything.

It was the same expression once worn by Nord, the man who had wiped out the entire Rutherford family.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

Sting roared, almost as if he were trying to release all the pain and fury burning inside his chest.

Jiemma, however, simply scoffed coldly. "You're too noisy, Sting."

"What have you done…? What have you done?!!!" Sting muttered to himself in a crazed frenzy.

"Shut up!! It was just a cat…—"

"AAAAHHH!!!"

Before Jiemma could finish speaking, Sting, consumed by uncontrollable rage, suddenly launched an attack without warning.

His magic-infused fist, carrying an overwhelming force like a raging storm, struck Jiemma squarely.

Fueled by fury, the sheer intensity of Sting's magic was so powerful that it pierced right through Jiemma's body.

Jiemma, completely caught off guard, threw his head back and spat out a mouthful of blood.

The surrounding Saber Tooth members were stunned into silence, frozen by the sudden turn of events.

Only one person reacted differently—Minerva, the young lady of Saber Tooth.

A strange smile crept onto her lips as she softly murmured, "This is how it should be."

.............

At Arena Battlefield, deep within one of the craters left behind by the battles earlier that day, several figures were making their way through the ruins.

"What exactly is down here, Gajeel-san?"

After walking for a while, Wendy finally couldn't contain her curiosity and asked the ever-mysterious Gajeel.

"Just keep quiet and follow," Gajeel replied curtly.

Natsu, looking frustrated, muttered, "Why just us?"

"So it has something to do with Dragon Slayers?" Happy pondered aloud.

Lily nodded. "That seems to be the case."

"Well, even if that's true…" Carla glanced at Lucy and Gray, who were trailing behind them, and quipped, "There are still some people here just to watch the spectacle."

Gray, looking completely clueless, asked, "Where?"

Lucy laughed awkwardly. "I just couldn't help but be curious."

As they continued their conversation, Gajeel suddenly stopped and said in a low voice, "This is the place."

"This is…!!!?"

"What is this?"

"…The remains… of animals."

Natsu's face slowly twisted with shock, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Dragon remains… a dragon graveyard."

Happy, staring at the mountain of bones, gasped in disbelief.

"All of these… are dragon skeletons?!"

"There are so many…"

"This confirms that dragons really did exist," Lily murmured.

Although dragon legends had been passed down across the continent, very few people had actually seen one.

On one hand, dragons were incredibly rare and preferred to live in remote, uninhabited forests.

On the other hand… most who had seen a dragon never lived to tell the tale.

Gray frowned. "What is this place?"

Gajeel, his face unreadable, replied flatly, "Hell if I know."
