Chapter 60: The Prison of Nightmares Reborn

Guided by a rancid stench, the team, Vale, Lucas, Delilah, and Marcus, pushed through the heavy iron door and stepped into the depths of the cave. Before them stretched a long corridor lined with crumbling cells, each one a macabre gallery of unspeakable horrors. Dim light revealed corpses in unspeakably brutal conditions: some dismembered, others with their innards viciously removed, and some even showing the marks of unspeakable violence.

"Oh my God, what the hell is this place?" Vale muttered under his breath, his voice a mix of shock and rage.

They moved slowly down the corridor, each cell revealing more ghastly scenes. Then, one cell's door was slightly ajar, and from within came a faint, desperate sound of breathing. Pushing the door open, they discovered the most harrowing sight, a young girl, barely clinging to life. She lay unconscious, her skin pale as if drained of color, her pulse barely detectable. What made the scene all the more horrific was that her eyes and mouth had been crudely stitched shut with rough thread; her nails had been forcibly removed, her clothes were in tatters, and a long, jagged scar marred her stomach, a testament to unimaginable torture.

"Oh, God… this child…" Marcus whispered, his voice trembling with grief and revulsion.

Upon seeing the awful scene, Delilah immediately sprang into action, her tone urgent and commanding:"Quick! Save her now! We have to get her out of here!"Her voice, fierce and resolute, cut through the oppressive silence.

At that moment, Lucas, who had been holding his dagger casually, dropped his usual playful demeanor. His face twisted in anger as he spat,"Fuck! What the hell is wrong with these sick bastards? I'm sick to death of this perverted cruelty!"His raw curse echoed down the corridor, unmistakably laced with fury.

Vale stood silently, gripping his ancient key tightly, his eyes hardening with determination."We cannot let these atrocities go unpunished. Every tortured soul here must be avenged," he vowed, his words quiet yet powerful.

Rain began to seep in from the cave entrance, mixing with blood and mud to create a grim tapestry on the cold stone floor. The team looked at one another, each face etched with horror and burning with resolve. Delilah, known as "Rose" in Lucas's teasing, was the first to speak up with unwavering urgency:"We need to save her, now!"Her command left no room for debate; it was clear that their priority was to rescue the girl.

Marcus, still scanning the grim surroundings, nodded solemnly. Their shared shock had now transformed into a fierce determination to retaliate against such monstrous cruelty.
