Chapter 69: Sacrifice of Sorrow

In the aftermath of the brutal battle, as the rain had finally ceased, the cave's oppressive stench of blood and decay began to fade, replaced by a fragile sense of clarity. Slowly, Lillian, her trembling emotions beginning to settle, lifted her tear-streaked eyes and, with a cold determination, began to speak:

"They claimed that women had sacrificed themselves to the gods, and that as husbands, we should feel honored. Hearing that, the villagers rushed forward, eager to avenge their wives. But they were no match for those twisted fiends. In the end, they slaughtered the entire village and even set our home ablaze..."

Her voice grew increasingly sorrowful, each word laced with profound grief. After a long pause, she took a deep breath and continued, her tone now heavy with despair:"Those cultists didn't stop there. They abducted the village's children one by one, sending them to their so-called 'church.' In truth, that 'church' was nothing more than a nightmarish training ground, where children were forced to endure brutal conditioning, either molded into killing machines or sacrificed outright. It was a place rife with perverse rituals and unspeakable cruelty."

Her eyes grew colder as she recalled the horrors, and she continued,"I remember being forced to stand before cold stone slabs, watching as the children were stripped of their innocence, left only with pain and terror. And I, I was chosen as one of the sacrifices. I was tortured time and again, and the pain still haunts me to this day."

Her voice, filled with mourning for lost happiness and an endless hatred for such sin, resonated through the chamber:"My village, my family, all were consumed by the inferno that night. The cultists claimed they were bringing happiness, but what they wrought was nothing but cruelty and massacre. I witnessed the complete destruction of everything I held dear..."

Lillian paused, drawing a deep breath, and then continued with a quiet, resolute tone:"In that 'church,' I, like the other children, was forced to endure unspeakable rituals. Our bodies and minds were mercilessly shattered, each torment tearing my soul further apart. I spent nearly every day in despair, yearning only to escape and reclaim the childhood that was stolen from me."

Her eyes welled with tears as her voice choked with emotion:"I never imagined I'd be forced to become a sacrifice, but fate was cruel enough to rob me of all warmth. Now, as I stand here recounting these horrors, it is not only to keep my memory alive but also to warn those who dare to trample on the dignity of life, your crimes will be avenged."

Slowly, Lillian opened her eyes, now burning with fierce resolve, and declared,"I will remember every moment, and I will turn this pain into the strength for my revenge. Even if my childhood has been taken from me, I will never allow this darkness to forever obscure the truth."
