Vivienne laughed as she handed over her phone, but Nolan, without a word, scowled and swatted it out of her hand.
"Didn't I tell you not to provoke Scarlett? Didn't I tell you to stay out of her sight?"
"Was it you who told her about the miscarriage? Vivienne, isn't what I've given you enough?!"
Nolan grabbed her by the throat, his eyes devoid of any affection, filled only with hatred.
"It's not enough! What I've always wanted was never any of this!"
"What I want is your love, your heart!"
Vivienne's body trembled as she accused him, yet her love for Nolan remained fervent.
Nolan recalled my icy stare, which stood in stark contrast to Vivienne's current state.
He let go, feeling drained.
After all, the woman before him was carrying his child; he couldn't let the baby lose its mother.
Vivienne, however, despised me to her core.
Because traffic cameras had caught Vivienne stepping on the gas pedal twice.
So the case was reopened for investigation.
