Twisted And Fragile Bond

Elmar is a fascinating world much like our own Earth, beautifully orbiting its sun within the game's captivating lore. While there's still so much to uncover, we only know that when the Divines crafted the mortal realm, they brought forth many unique worlds- a wonderful example of which is Elmar.

But there are many differences between the two worlds such as culture, Government, and people, and the most important one is none other than magic that exists here. On Earth, there is no such thing as magic.

Elmar is mostly divided into five continents- First, the Human Continent, Althora. Second, the Elven continent, Elarion. Third, The Dwarven Isles, Kragmorn. Fourth, The Beastial Continent, Vorak. Fifth and the continent forgotten to time, Azkarath, a continent of which little is known.

Currently, I am in the continent of Althora, The Human Continent. Althora is the second largest continent right after Azkarath. It has regions under the rule of the Empire and three other kingdoms- Germainia Empire, Kingdom of Eldoria, Kingdom of Ashbourne, and Kingdom of Ironvale.

The Blitzfeld is a Duchy in the Germainia Empire alongside the Edelstein, Emberhold, and Frostholm. That is all I know about the world from the game, the protagonist after leaving the academy, ventures into the world in order to discover a way to put an end to the Calamity that is coming.

At the end of the game, he was on his way to the Forgotten Continent of Azkarath which was decided as the main map for the second game which was yet to be released. So my knowledge is only limited to the four continents.

'Hey Dante, do you know anything about Azkarath?' I asked the system whom I named Dante.

[No, not much my knowledge is also limited in that aspect but I know something.]

'What do you know?'

[That a war between the divines happened, that made the continent inhabitable] Dante explained.

'War between the gods?' My brows furrowed.

[Yes] He confirmed.

[Can I ask you something, Ethan?]

'What?'

[Why did you name me 'Dante'?] His tone was mechanical but there was a hint of curiosity in it.

'Dante is one of my favorite characters'

[I see] He stopped asking further and went quiet.

"We are here, Young Master Noah" The maid pointed towards a door while gently bowing. The door was a color of pristine white, with golden leaf-like patterns carved onto it.

"Ok, I am ready," I fixed my black coat, "Open the door"

The maid grabbed the handle of the door and pushed it, "Your Excellency, Young Master Noah has arrived"

Behind the door, the room revealed a grand sofa set placed around a polished mahogany table. Plush velvet cushions lined the seats, their golden embroidery catching the soft glow of the chandelier above. A marble fireplace crackled warmly, its mantel adorned with an ornate clock and silver candlesticks. Heavy velvet curtains framed the tall windows, casting long shadows across the rich, patterned rug.

On the sofas I saw three figures sitting, the first was my or Noah's very loving father Friedrich Von Blitzfeld, also known as The Thundercrowned Mage. He has similar wheat-blond hair Noah which flows elegantly behind his shoulder.

His eyes were a shed of amethyst glowing like a gem. And unlike Noah, he had sharp facial features which were framed by a beard and a moustache of the same color as his hair. He was wearing a formal cream tunic, which was made of fine silk covering his muscular frame.

Finely tailored black trousers were covering his legs along with a pair of brown boots. He exudes an aura of sheer authority and coldness that would strike fear into anybody.

'I can feel why Noah was afraid of him but I am not Noah anymore' I thought as the look of disdain almost covered my face but I suppressed it. But there was one more emotion creeping into me. Fear.

Yes, Noah was afraid of his father but at the same time, he wanted his recognition but due to not being able to awaken the Legacy of Thorvian, the Storm God that blessed the Blitzfeld Bloodline which most of his siblings had awakened. He was treated as a disgrace, and belittled by his own family.

There was one more fault with Noah, he did not have a second element. In a world, where an average human had two elements, he only had his lightning magic which was not strong due to the legacy not awakening. That is the reason he is known as the disgrace of Blitzfeld.

In this world where power matters over one's personality, he is weak. But he was not a bad guy, he was a guy who did not get the love he deserved, his efforts were laughed upon and his respect among the nobles was tarnished.

I shifted my gaze from my father to the figure sitting across from him, it was Duke Edelstein and his daughter, Elisabeth, Noah's fiancee. As per the timeline, this happened seven months before the start of the academy and the main.

At this point in time Noah was still engaged to Elisabeth and was following her like a simp. I don't blame him for falling in love with her, she was beautiful obviously because she is a major heroine.

But I know how twisted she is. Elisabeth only agreed to the engagement due to the Blitzfeld family being powerful not because she was head over heels for our fatty here.

[Aren't you being harsh on him?] Dante interrupted.

'Nah, and you should not say that! You were the one who made those remarks on my stats, fucker' I retorted remembering the harsh remarks Dante planted on my stats.

[...]

'Yep, stay like that'

"Noah, you are here" The deep voice of Friedrich pulled me out of my thoughts.

"It is nice to meet you again Duke Leopold and Lady Elisabeth" Ignoring my father I greeted them first and took a seat on the sofa beside my father.

Duke Leopold Von Edelstein, one of the strongest people in the empire alongside my father, Duke Friedrich. He is a grandmaster mage like my father and his main element is Earth. He was wearing an elegant brown coat inside a black vest laced with silver lines. His auburn hair was tied into a neat ponytail and his eyes were a shimmering azurin blue.

Beside him was his daughter and my fiancee, Elisabeth Von Edelstein. She was wearing a beautiful emerald dress which accentuated her curvy figure, her eyes and hair were the exact copy of her father. The only difference is the oval and feminine face that sparked a difference between them.

"It is good to see you, son" Duke Leopold replied to my earlier greeting, his tone warm and cheering.

"It is good to see you too, Sir Noah" Elisabeth spoke, her voice devoid of any emotion. A contrast to her father's.

I nodded at their replies and offered a carefully crafted warm smile. But inside I was in a turmoil of my own, as Noah's emotions were telling me to approach her but my emotions wanted to char her alive with my lightning. Thankfully, I controlled such uncomfortable thoughts and turned to my father.

He was giving me a side glance for which I really did not give a fuck, start already what you wanted to start you shitty father.

[If he hears your thoughts you might get cooked, you know~?] Dante chuckled, his mechanical voice laced with a teasing tone.

'I know'

A maid entered the room with a tray in her hands, she leaned forward and with practiced ease distributed cups of black tea among the four of us.

"So why the sudden visit, Leopold?" My father started, crossing his arms, his tone indifferent.

"Uhm," Duke Leopold cleared his throat, "You know, I just wanted to discuss the engagement between my daughter and your son Noah"

"You see I wanted them to spend more time together and build their bond so that both the families can harmonize their re-"

'It's boring she is not even interested in me anyway' I picked up the cup of tea and had a sip. The flavor of the tea was to my liking not too sweet and not too bitter, a perfect balance, and much more interesting than the fucking family bonding going over here.

[Maybe you can try making her fall in love with you?] Dante suggested.

'No, sorry I am not interested,' I replied, 'First of all my plan is to break this engagement off without harassing her, it would reduce my worries and make me move my plan faster'

[What is your plan?] Dante asked.

'Well, its simple really,' a smirked appeared on my lips, 'To cripple the Blitzfeld'
