Unexpected Generosity
"You smell so bad, I feel like I'm suffocating."
Nina's words stabbed straight into my soul.
I sighed. "Not my fault the rats live in literal sewage."
She pinched her nose, took a deep breath, then reached into her pocket and tossed me 10 CP.
"Here. Consider it a bonus for effort. Now, go take a bath. I don't want my shop cursed with that smell."
I stared at the coins in my hand.
10 CP?! That was barely anything compared to my original reward—but right now? I'd take anything.
"Fine, fine. I'll clean up."

A Much-Needed Bath
I dragged myself back to the Lioran Inn, paid the 5 CP for a room, and immediately stumbled into the bath.
As the warm water washed away the grime, I let out a deep sigh.
My first real quest, and I had nothing to show for it.
The rats were gone.
The trap had ruined my plan.
And worst of all—I still had no money.
Well… almost no money.

The Gem's True Value
As I lay on my bed, staring at the wooden ceiling, I pulled up my inventory and looked at my one saving grace:
> [Strange Gem] - ???
A mysterious gem with unknown properties.
I had found this in the merchant's shop earlier—it boosted EXP gain when used. A jackpot item.
But…
I had no CP left to buy anything.
And if I wanted to level up faster, I needed better gear, potions, and stamina recovery items.
Which meant…
I had to sell the gem.
I hesitated.
This gem could be a huge advantage—but money was more important right now.

The Two-World Marketplace
Normally, selling an item in a game just gave you in-game currency.
But here?
This world had a real economy.
There was a system where players could buy and sell items across both the game and real life.
> [Two-World Marketplace] - A trading hub where items can be sold for in-game CP or real-world money.]
Some players got insanely rich using this system.
And if I played my cards right…
I could, too.

Listing the Gem for Auction
I opened the Marketplace menu and started listing my item.
> [Strange Gem] - Starting Price: 50 MC
I hesitated for a moment… then hit Confirm.
The gem was now on auction.
And now…
All I could do was wait.

Logging Out
With that done, I sighed and stretched out on the inn bed.
For the first time since starting this game, I felt… tired, but comfortable.
I glanced at my CP balance—5 CP left.
Enough for one more night at the inn.
I closed my eyes and whispered to myself:
"Please let someone buy that gem."
And then, I logged out.
