The Retired Blacksmith, Brake

Leo walked through Derek Village, following the directions he had been given. The village outskirts were quieter, with fewer players roaming around. The houses here were older, some looking abandoned.

Finally, he arrived at a small, run-down forge. Unlike the other blacksmith shops in the village, this place had no customers, no glowing furnaces, and no weapons on display.

Leo knocked on the wooden door.

BANG! BANG!

No response.

He knocked again, harder this time. "Hey, old man! You in there?"

For a moment, there was silence. Then, the door creaked open slightly, revealing a grumpy-looking old man with gray hair, a thick beard, and eyes that looked like they had seen way too much nonsense.

"What do you want, kid?" Brake growled.

Leo wasted no time. He pulled out the Rusty Dagger and held it up. "I need this repaired. Every blacksmith in town said you're the only one who might be able to fix it."

Brake's gaze landed on the dagger, and for the first time, his expression changed. His eyes widened, and he slowly reached out, taking the weapon from Leo's hands.

"This..." Brake muttered, turning the dagger over in his rough hands. "Where did you get this?"

Leo shrugged. "Quest."

Brake examined the weapon in silence. After a long pause, he let out a deep sigh.

"You really want this fixed?"

"Obviously," Leo said. "Why else would I come all the way here?"

Brake let out a dry chuckle. "Fine. But I don't work for free, kid. If you want me to repair this dagger... you need to bring me the right materials."

[New Quest: Blacksmith's Test – Gather Materials for Brake!]

Leo groaned. "Ah, come on! A fetch quest?"

Brake smirked. "You want the best, you gotta work for it, kid."

Leo opened his quest window and checked the required materials:

- 5x Iron Ore

- 3x Fire Crystals

- 1x Ancient Slime Core

Leo blinked. Wait. What was that last one?

He reread the quest description.

Ancient Slime Core?

"...This is gonna be annoying, isn't it?"

Ralf, his little companion, popped up a text emote:

[Ralf: (⌐■_■) Let's get that loot!]

Leo sighed. "Yeah, yeah. Alright, let's get to work."

And with that, he set off on another adventure—this time, to collect the rare materials needed to repair the mysterious dagger.
