It was lunchtime and Matilda was making beans. She called them down for lunch and when Henry reached the bottom of the stairs he noticed that Carl was in the exact same place. Matilda told them that they were having beans. "Thanks Matilda."
"For what?"
"The beans!" said Henry.
"Hey mom, how long until we leave Matilda's house?"
"Well probably in a few da-." Carl interrupted and said, "If we get food like this every day then I would stay forever." Then he shoved his face into his food and said " mm mm delicious." Everyone looked at him funny. After lunch they played Go Fish and Carl coughed all over the cards and didn't apologize. Carl was starting to be a pain but they couldn't just kick him out of the house, he didn't have a home anymore.
Bill said "me and my family are going to go outside for a walk." Bill grabbed his family and ran out the door. Once they were outside Bill said, "I'm so sorry. I just had to get away from Carl. He was driving me crazy." Then, at the same time, Henry, Lesa and Larry said "us too."
They started walking and saw wrecked houses, offices and more. They walked for a little bit longer until they noticed a group of people standing next to the same train station they arrived at. The Petersons and Larry ran up to see what was going on. They ran up to a family and asked what's happening. The family said, "they're sending trains to cities near here. We're going to New Brunswick to live with my brother."
"Are there any trains going to Quebec?"
"Maybe? Go ask."
Bill ran up to the train conductor and asked, "Do you guys travel to Quebec City by any chance?"
"Yes, at 4 o'clock there will be a train ride to Quebec City."
"Ok thanks!" Bill rushed up to Henry, Lesa and Larry and said, "We're going home!"
They all screamed with joy! They were so excited.
They ran as fast as they could to Matilda's to tell the rest of them that they were leaving. They burst through the door and said, "We're going back to Quebec!" Then Matilda said, "but wasn't your home destroyed?"
"Our uncle's house was but we were on vacation. Our real home is in Quebec."
Carl exited the bathroom and said, "I wouldn't go in there for a little bit if I were you. Anyway I hear you're going to Quebec, Can I join you? I'd love a train ride."
"Fine Carl, come with us."
"Yee haw! A new adventure for me." He waddled over to the door to join them. Then they all said goodbye.
They bolted out the door and ran as fast as possible to the train station. Well, not Carl he was slow and jogged most of the way. By the time they reached the train station Carl was completely out of breath. They sat down on a bench and Bill checked the time. It was 3 o'clock, so they had 1 hour until the train arrived. Carl fell asleep on Bill's lap and Henry grabbed his journal and started writing.

Well we're going home I guess. It's kinda sad though because when we arrived Halifax was an amazing place and now it's rubble. I'm signing off now. Henry
When the train arrived they hopped on and it started moving. Henry ran to the back of the train and said, "Goodbye Halifax" as he waved.
