A Promise of Devotion

After dinner, Seraphina returned to her room to rest.

Although her new body could go days without sleeping, she had done a lot today and had accumulated quite a bit of mental fatigue.

As she rested on her ridiculously large bed, she frowned, realizing it would take some time to get used to this.

"I'm still not used to how soft these sheets are. I wonder if these were the kinds of things the upper class used in my country."

Knock, knock, knock!

Seraphina immediately lifted her head from the bed when she heard an unexpected knock at her door.

As she got up to let her guest in, the first thing she saw was a pair of fox ears standing proudly amidst a sea of black hair.

Kaela was standing at the door, wearing her signature wide grin, a daring nightgown, and holding a pillow under her muscular arm.

—"Hello, wife, I've come to spend the night with you."

"...huh?"

—"Come on, let me in. It's cold out here, you know?"

Seraphina's body moved on autopilot as she stepped aside to allow the Hellfox woman into her room.

She finally processed what she had just done, but it was too late—Kaela was already sitting on her bed with a rather expectant look on her face.

As she looked at her wife on the bed, she thought, "You know what? Maybe I'm not that tired after all."

Seraphina practically pounced on her wife, kissing her passionately as her hands slowly lifted her nightgown.

Kaela made no move to stop her, and judging by the subtle moans she let out, she seemed to be enjoying herself even more than Seraphina.

Only when she felt something big and warm brushing against her leg did she get slightly nervous, but who was she?

A true warrior who knew nothing of surrender! She accepted any challenge!

Knock, knock, knock!

As soon as the couple heard another knock at the door, the warm and heavy atmosphere disappeared as if it had never been there.

Seraphina seemed to struggle to contain herself, her breathing still heavy and her arousal not subsiding, so Kaela decided to open the door instead.

The pair were surprised when they saw Miriel standing there, dressed in a black robe and blushing deeply.

—"Can I come in?" —she asked shyly.

—"Yes, of course."

—"Is that even a question?"

Miriel entered, trying not to show how shaky her breathing was.

She saw the delicate outfit Kaela was wearing along with the pillow Seraphina had placed on her lap, reaffirming her decision.

Miriel stood in front of Seraphina, who was sitting at the edge of the bed.

—"What's wrong?" —she asked.

Even a blind person could see that, for some reason, Miriel was struggling to look her in the eyes.

Miriel said nothing, and after taking several deep breaths, she slipped off her black silk robe, letting it fall to the floor.

She wore a black lingerie set underneath.

The material was extremely thin, leaving her body in full view of the stunned hybrid.

If Seraphina hadn't slowly gotten used to seeing these two women's bodies regularly, she would have already collapsed with a nosebleed.

Even the girls she had seen in the adult sites of her old world couldn't compare to these two.

However, as much as she wanted to throw herself at her, there was something about this situation that made her hesitate.

—"Why are you doing this?"

Miriel placed her arms behind her back, trying to hide how much her hands were trembling.

—"I want... to be useful to you."

Hearing her reasoning, Seraphina no longer had to struggle to hold herself back—her excitement vanished entirely.

—"Miriel, you…" —Kaela tried to stop her friend, but Seraphina pulled a blanket from the bed and gently placed it over the young witch's shoulders.

"Does she not want me? Does she not find me attractive in that way?"

Miriel was completely confused, but when she looked into her wife's deep red eyes, she saw so much warmth and concern that it made her heart ache.

—"Why...?" —her voice was so low it was barely a whisper.

Now it was Seraphina's turn to remain silent as she gently took Miriel's hand and guided her to sit beside her at the edge of the bed.

—"You don't need to force yourself to do things that make you uncomfortable for the sake of others, least of all for me."

—"N-no, I wasn't trying to—"

—"You've been shaking like a leaf since you walked into this room."

—"T-that's..." —the young witch fell silent.

She couldn't think of any argument against her wife's words.

It seemed that her plan to avoid being discarded had crumbled.

With no other option, she decided to be completely honest.

—"I just want to be close to you... and I don't want you to throw me away."

Seraphina's heart pounded wildly with each word the beautiful young woman spoke.

She couldn't understand why Miriel thought she would abandon her, but when she remembered her past, she easily found the answer.

"If only you knew how much it means to me to hear words like these from someone like you..."

Just a day ago, she had received looks of disgust from women on the streets who weren't even half as charming as Miriel.

And yet, now, this otherworldly beauty was offering herself to her on a silver platter, even though she clearly wasn't ready.

Slowly, Seraphina brought her hand to Miriel's face, gently caressing her cheek with her thumb before placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

—"Listen to me, girls…"

—"If you want to spend all day in the library eating sweets..." —she said, looking at Miriel, who blushed again upon realizing her guilty habit had been discovered.

—"Or in the training grounds beating up the guards..." —Kaela grinned widely at that little comment.

—"Nothing will change the fact that you are my wives, and I will not abandon you—not now, not ever. I won't ask anything of you, especially not something that makes you uncomfortable."

—"I hope that in the future, you won't think so poorly of me. I'm not going anywhere, I promise."

Miriel closed her eyes and took a deep breath, seemingly taking in Seraphina's words and letting them settle in her soul.

Kaela, who had been watching the scene, said nothing and only smiled slightly.

—"Told you, Miriel. You just had to trust her."

She wasn't normally the type to gloat about being right, but this time, she felt completely justified.

—"I want you to kiss me," Miriel finally said.

Seraphina's surprise at her wife's sudden change in tone lasted only half a second before she wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her in for their first kiss.
