PROLOGUE

A CENTURY AGO

And this was the time when humans and supernatural creatures like werewolves, weretigers, werelions, vampires, demons, witches, and special born humans all existed in one world, one universe.

They were all ruled by demons, the strongest of all the species, with the spellbounder overseeing the balance between death and birth.

But due to the greed of demons who barely surpassed the lifespan of a century, not living for more than 100 years, they decided to kill the spellbounder and exhaust her power to gain immortality.

"We finally found you, Aira," the demon king, Luca Demoniac, spoke calmly, excitement evident in his eyes.

Finally, he and his followers would gain eternal life, rule the universe, and become a tale of the present and future, not just the past.

"Demoniac, do not provoke the sun goddess. She is kind enough to allow demons to live for a century compared to humans and special borns. They don't have the kind of grace bestowed on demons," Aira spoke, each word coming out of her lips painfully, the poison she took spreading across her body.

She would rather die than allow the greed of the demons to destroy the world.

Demoniac chuckled dryly at Aira's words. He closed the gap between them before raising his hand to slap her, making her fall weakly to the ground, her cheeks turning red.

"Grace? You and the sun goddess are nothing but hypocrites! You gave the werewolves, weretigers, werelions, vampires, and witches a longer lifespan, why is it different in our case? Aren't we supposed to live longer as their ruler?" Demoniac's voice filled the dark forest, hatred laced in his tone.

He was holding back the urge to snap Aira's neck from her head because of two reasons: being his mate and the power he and the other demons wanted to absorb.

"You think killing me would give you eternal life? Lies. Lies from the pit of Sheol!" Aira coughed out blood, life slowly squeezing out of her body, her hands clutching her chest as her heart burned. "Even if you absorb the sacred binding power, you would only be able to live for another century… unless you absorb the binding power again," she revealed, knowing the sun goddess is kind but not foolish.

She wouldn't give a second chance to the being she created out of mercy, who in turn decided to betray her by defying her rules.

Aira would probably be the last spellbounder to descend to the earth.

"Aira, don't worry, we will find the next spellbounder and make sure she meets a crueler fate than you did," Demoniac spoke calmly after exchanging glances with the other demons. "Go to Sheol! Tell the sun goddess that she isn't kind enough!"

He didn't give her a chance to speak before stabbing her with a silver knife. He placed an object closer to the spot where blood gushed from, collecting the divine blood.

One that could wake the dead. One that could give eternal life to any being except the chosen vessel, the SPELLBOUNDER.

The demons smiled in excitement after collecting the blood, watching Aira cry out in pain, her body aching in agony, her voice slowly dying before her body finally went cold.

And that marked the end of Aira's life, giving rise to the demons with eternal life, ready to rule and conquer.

"To every demon, you aren't just demons but kings of eternal lives, and for us to enjoy this divinity, we have to make sure to find the new spellbounder before the next century, understand?" Luca Demoniac asked, anticipating their response.

"Yes, your grace." The response came in unison.
