Chapter 2: The Hunt Begins
Lucian sat in his penthouse suite, overlooking the neon-lit skyline of Seoul. His crimson eyes gleamed with cruel amusement as he took a sip of whiskey. The world had no idea what was coming.
A month. That's all he had before the zombies tore through society like wildfire.
But this time, he would be ready.
A Kingdom Needs Soldiers
Weapons. Food. Water. Medicine. A harem of perfect women.
Lucian had already begun stockpiling supplies, stuffing his Infinite Storage with enough resources to outlast the apocalypse a hundred times over.
But there was one thing he lacked.
Loyal subordinates.
In his past life, he had fought alone. And that had cost him everything.
This time, he needed fighters—the strongest, most ruthless warriors he could find. And he knew exactly where to start.
---
Hunting the Beasts of the Underground
The city's underworld was filled with monsters—mercenaries, gangsters, ex-military, and killers-for-hire. Most would be zombie food in a month.
But a few?
They were wolves among sheep.
Lucian arrived at an illegal fight club, deep beneath an abandoned warehouse. The stench of sweat and blood filled the air as men tore each other apart for money and pride.
A massive, scarred fighter stood in the ring, his fists drenched in crimson. He had just beaten a man half to death, his opponent's broken body twitching on the floor.
Lucian smirked. Perfect.
He strode toward the ring, his presence like a blade slicing through the tension.
The announcer turned. "Who's next—"
Lucian stepped forward. "I am."
The room fell silent.
Then, laughter erupted.
The scarred fighter sneered, towering over Lucian's 6'3" frame. "You? You look like a pretty boy who got lost."
Lucian's red eyes glowed.
"Get in the ring."
The man lunged—faster than expected for his size. A fist shot toward Lucian's head.
But Lucian was faster.
He sidestepped effortlessly, his superhuman reflexes already awakening. The moment the brute's momentum carried him forward, Lucian struck.
CRACK.
His fist connected with the man's jaw.
Not just any punch—a perfectly calculated, bone-shattering strike.
The sound of breaking teeth filled the air as the fighter's body went limp. He collapsed, unconscious before he hit the ground.
Silence.
The crowd stared in shock.
Lucian stepped over the fallen man and turned to the onlookers.
"I need strong men. If you want to survive the apocalypse, follow me. If not—stay here and rot."
A few laughed nervously.
A few trembled.
And a few… their eyes burned with hunger.
The wolves had heard his call.
His army was forming.
---
A Queen for the King
Lucian's next stop was the elite nightclub, Velvet Sin. A paradise for the rich, powerful, and corrupt.
He wasn't here for drinks.
He was here for the most dangerous woman in Seoul—Irene.
A mafia heiress, rumored to be as deadly as she was beautiful. A woman whose cruelty matched his own.
The system flickered as he entered.
[Irene – Beauty Score: 96]
[Status: Predator]
Lucian smiled.
She was exactly his type.
Inside the VIP lounge, Irene lounged on a crimson couch, her long black dress clinging to her flawless curves. Her C-cup breasts rose with each slow breath, her emerald eyes gleaming with amusement.
She sipped her wine lazily as Lucian approached. "You're brave, walking in here like you own the place."
Lucian leaned in, his voice dark and smooth. "That's because I do."
Her lips curled. "Interesting."
He didn't waste time. "The world is ending in a month. Join me, and I'll make sure you survive—and thrive."
Irene tilted her head. "And why would I need you?"
Lucian smirked. "Because I'm going to be the king of the new world. And every king needs a queen."
The challenge in her eyes burned hotter. "Prove it."
Lucian reached out—his fingers trailing down her thigh, slow, possessive. She shivered, her thighs pressing together instinctively.
His voice dropped to a whisper. "I always prove myself, sweetheart."
Her breath hitched.
For the first time in her life, Irene felt something dangerous.
Excitement.
"Fine," she murmured. "Let's see if you're worth my time, Lucian."
Lucian smirked.
He already knew he was.
The Pieces Fall Into Place
Lucian had an army of killers.
He had a mafia queen by his side.
And in one month, the world would burn.
As he stood atop his penthouse, the city's skyline sprawling before him, a single thought filled his mind.
Let the apocalypse come.
I am ready.
