SS1 EP1 THE END OF BEGINNING

Joseph Vinh, an ordinary 14-year-old hot nerd, had nothing special but his looks and his intelligence that was just upper average.

The everyday routine of Jim was just waking up, going to school, returning home, doing some homework, and reading an encyclopedia like a book on science or a history book to improve his knowledge.

And for now, school had ended, and Joseph was on his way back home. He walked along the usual path where a street was built parallel with the great Bangkok canal, heading toward the bus stop where he could catch the number 8 bus. As he walked, he followed the same path he passed every day.

"Sigh, this is just a boring, normal day like another day, tell me so? The same damn loop. Get up, go to school, return home, then lay on the dang hard bed. When will something not that shitty happen in my boring life?"

But as he reached the middle of the path, he noticed something strange. The boy, turning to the left, observed the canal turning blood red. The normally flowing stream became eerily still. As he took a closer look, he heard a voice filled with suffering.

"Ohhhh, our hero! We're in agony! Please, young boy, have mercy and help us! We all need you!"

At first, he thought it was just a hallucination, but the voice continued over and over again, sending goosebumps through his body. He felt intensely confused. This phenomenon was just extraordinary. He came a little closer to terminate his curiosity. However, fate played with him like a toy as he slipped on the moist, algae-covered ground.

SPLASH!!!!!!

The handsome body fell into the canal. His impressionated face submerged in the bloody water while his glasses stayed perched on his nose. He recognized that he could swim, but it didn't help at all. Some mysterious force was just grabbing his muscular arms and strong legs, preventing the teenage boy from swimming away out of this crazy canal.

He struggled to fight against this force, but his effort was just a waste, like throwing salt into the river. As his strength ran out, he realized that this might be the end of his life.

"The fuck? Is everything over? I can't fight against my fate. But what the heck? I'm only 14! I haven't done anything yet! No! No! I can't die this wayyyyyyy!!!!"

"Pleassss help meee! I'm going to drown! Please, somebody help!"

Joseph cried and shouted as loud as he could, but it was nonsense. There were no villagers nearby who could swim. The only way to save the boy was to call for help.

A local villager woman saw that, so she made a call to a rescue squad.

Ringgggg!!!!

"Hello, Bangkok Rescue Squad on the call. How can I help you?"

"Alright, sir, please hurry up! There's a boy with glasses drowning! Please come and help him now!!!!!!!!"

"Alrighttt, ma'am, I will come as fast as I can."

Later, the rescue squad arrived and rescued him, but it was just too late. The boy's breath was gone. His heart just didn't have movement.

He became a spirit and sent farewell to this world. The villagers just moaned about the death of the young corpse.

"Huh, he is just a kid... He doesn't deserve this at all."

"I'm sorry that we can't even help you, little boy."

"Huhh, young child with a lot of potential... Send me an eternal farewell."

The news about the death of Joseph Vinh spread dynamically. Everyone felt pity, but the one who was the most depressed, to the point of feeling dead inside, was his big brother, who had raised him since the glasses boy was 11.

But sometimes, death isn't just an indication of the ending.

It's more like the end of the beginning.

Joseph vinh regained consciousness his eyelids is so heavy as he tried to open them He moved his hand and after few moment he wiped his eyes and pulling out the glasses up but he was shocked what he just saw.

Jimmy found out not only he wasn't in the water anymore but also anyplace in Thailand too. Instead he was in the placed that covered with darkness and silent as if time itself was stopped An uncomfortable coldness spreading out through his body, making he feels the handache

"wait..... im i just ...death"

Joseph whispered to himself unsure what was happening his brain covered by confusion his mind occupied by curiosity.

"Both yes and no....

The voice, deep and chilling, spoke with an eerie calmness, amplified by the echo that made the situation even more terrifying, sending shivers down the young boy's spine. He began to wonder who was the source of that dreadful voice.

"Who is that!!!!"

The reaper, with a body made of steel and clad in an armor resembling that of the Ruskiyef Empire knights, smiled.

He introduced himself in a calm tone.

"I am the reaper who guides the souls of the young, whose bodies have perished. And you, Joseph Wynn, are the one chosen."

The boy was in utter confusion, his body frozen in fear that slowly crept into his mind. He had never felt this way before. It was as if he were facing an immense power—something he could not fight against. There was nothing he could argue with. It seemed like a wise idea to just play along with the reaper's game for now.

"What do you want me to do? I will do anything," Joseph asked, his voice trembling, pressing his hand against his glasses, hoping the situation would come to an end soon. The boy was too afraid to even look the reaper in the face.

"Do you believe in other worlds?" the reaper asked in a monotone.

"Yes, I must believe it now. Please, don't do anything to me," Joseph replied, his voice still trembling, fear overwhelming him. It was as if he had lost his sanity. Normally, if someone asked him, he would say, "That's just an anime about a hero who dies, gets summoned to another world, gains godly powers, has a harem, and saves the world." But now, everything was different. He had died.

"I know you're scared, but I have no choice. You are the chosen hero, Joseph. Your task is of great importance. I will send you to a world full of cruelty, where people suffer from endless wars and the invasions of four tyrants. We need you, everyone needs you, Joseph."

The reaper explained his purpose and briefly described the world Joseph had to protect.

The boy understood the reaper's intentions but still had doubts about the decision.

"It makes sense that they need a hero, but isn't it a bit odd to entrust this to a 14-year-old? By law, I'm not even of legal age yet."

The reaper laughed loudly in a calm yet cold voice, as though he already knew everything.

"Age is just a number. My choice had nothing to do with your age. I chose you because you have a certain charm."

Before the reaper could finish his sentence, Joseph cut in awkwardly.

"Wait, wait, excuse me, but what exactly do you mean by that? I'm still a minor, isn't this a bit strange?"

The reaper used a muting skill to silence Joseph and continued speaking.

"That's it, young man. You have charm—both in your appearance and your mind. People are often impressed by those who are good-looking, right? When you do anything, it will be easier. I also feel you have the ability to adapt to environments well, not easily giving up. Moreover, I noticed you often study and enjoy logic-based games like chess, sudoku, or war games. You can apply that knowledge to help save the world or improve the world I'll send you to. Also, you've often complained about wanting something exciting, haven't you? You're probably bored of living the mundane life in the world you came from, right? That's why I'm entrusting you with this task."

Joseph now understood why the reaper had chosen him, but he still worried that, as a mere 14-year-old with no special powers, he wouldn't be able to fight the tyrants or improve the kingdom to match the modern world.

"I understand why you chose me, but I have no special powers. What can I do? I'll just end up like a beggar asking for food every day."

The reaper had anticipated this objection and offered a solution: the system and the choice of a specific power class.

"Alright, I have an offer for you. I will grant you access to the system and allow you to choose one specific power class."

Joseph's eyes lit up with interest at the reaper's offer but still wanted to know what this "specific power class" was about.

"What is this specific power class you mentioned?"

The reaper explained patiently.

"A specific power class is a class you choose, which will affect how you progress and the skills you gain. Each class requires different upgrades. Let me give you an example:

1. Swordman: This is the most popular class chosen by previous souls I selected. A swordman class can deal massive damage, has flashy skills, and is effective in the early stages. If you choose this, you'll level up quickly and become a legend, with lots of praise and beautiful women following you. Attacks include physical and magical strikes. Once you reach level 50, you can upgrade to Swordmaster, which allows you to clear enemies quickly and easily, making the task of defeating the four tyrants more manageable. I recommend the Quick Slash skill, which lets you attack multiple enemies at once, leaving them unable to fight back. You'll become a legend, with people singing your praises and girls chasing after you."

Joseph listened attentively, now understanding the details of this class and its abilities.

The reaper continued, describing the six upgradeable stats for all classes:

1. Strength

2. Endurance

3. Speed

4. Intelligence

5. Accuracy/Luck

6. Mana/Skill

"You'll need to upgrade Strength, Endurance, and Speed. Don't bother with Intelligence or Mana; those aren't necessary for the swordman. The only downside is the short attack range. But now, you understand why this is the most popular class."

"MAX LEVEL for this class is 150."

The reaper paused, allowing Joseph to take in the information.

"Next is the Mage class, which is the second most popular choice. This class specializes in elemental magic or controlling magic to deal area damage. The effectiveness early on isn't as great as the swordman, since magic depends on skills, and you'll be limited by mana. But if you have enough skill, you can become as powerful as a swordman, praised and adored by many. When you reach level 50, you can choose to specialize in one of two subclasses: Sage or Necromancer."

Joseph was eager to learn more, as the choice of class would determine his future path in this strange new world.

"SAGE: A mage who is highly skilled in magic. They can use their magical powers to attack in various ways, such as using magic rings, summoning thunderbolts, or performing the Arahant's Palm. Each of their attacks has its own unique characteristics, capable of dealing massive, widespread damage. However, the downside is that every skill requires mana, and their basic attacks are weaker than a feather. So if their mana runs out, they become useless.

Necromancer: A mage who doesn't focus on attacking with magic but instead specializes in summoning. The mana required for summoning is very high, but the summoned creatures do not consume mana since you've already spent it on the summoning skill. However, you cannot summon just anything; if the summoned creature is too strong, the summoning will fail. The effectiveness of your summons depends on your level and the strength of the summoned entity. But that doesn't mean you can't attack. You can still use basic magic from your previous class, though your focus will now be on summoning. A downside is that your previous magic power is reduced to 50%, and the cooldown for each summoning is long, potentially throwing off your timing in battle.

Both classes have their strengths and weaknesses, but if you master either one, you'll become very powerful.

As for the stats I recommend for mages: Mana, Accuracy, Strength, or you can also upgrade Speed if you want better timing.

The max level for this class is 150.

Archer Class: This class focuses on close-range attacks, primarily using bows or other close-range weapons. It requires high precision, and early in the game, this class is considered weak. Those who choose this class often struggle to gain experience in the beginning. It's not recommended to go solo if you want to play this class seriously. The damage dealt by archers is primarily physical, so magic defenses used by the Tyrants' army won't be effective. However, once you upgrade your class to level 50, everything changes.

The most popular class upgrade is:

WAR MARSHALL: This class is considered the most efficient out of all the classes I've seen. It allows you to perform regular attacks quickly and accurately. Every attack has a 75% chance to be a critical hit, and there are several high-damage skills, such as Great Snake Arrow—a single arrow that summons hundreds of giant snakes to attack enemies. Each attack by the snakes causes poison status effects. There's also Speed Arrow, which launches arrows at the speed of a gust of wind and has a ricochet effect that causes wide-area damage. Since this class is so overpowered, it boosts your abilities significantly. Once you get stronger, people will praise and admire you, and you'll even end up with a harem of beautiful girls—just like the previous two classes. But enough of that, let's talk about stat upgrades. I recommend you focus on:

Accuracy, Speed, and Strength.

The max level for this class is 155."

The reaper spoke to the young boy about the information, abilities, upgrade paths, and pros and cons of all the classes. The boy listened but didn't seem to be particularly interested. However, the reaper had yet to mention the last specialized class, which could very well decide the boy's fate.
