"Come on, let me take you to your first class," Sage threw his arm around Eve's shoulder. Though there wasn't much height difference between them, Sage was still shorter than him, but had more guys than him.
"Who likes to study? Let's go and sweat on the field like a real man," River laughed.
Eve felt trapped with them, but he didn't have a choice but to suffocate. He wasn't surprised when they picked him up from his room as they always did. But this time Eve felt a little different. As if they're keeping an eye on him and his every move.
Nonetheless, they made sure that no one approached him with the intention of harming him. As a result, even if he suspects them, he can't help but be grateful to them.
"Me and Eve like it, and what's even a real man?" Sage rolled his eyes. He doesn't like that term because he's on the feminine side, and everybody mocked him by calling him a girl. Which also earned him the name sissy.
But their rudeness doesn't hurt him, because he doesn't gives a fuck what everyone thinks of him. He still has the tag of the prettiest boy given by the most dangerous red batch holder, River, who's pants, everyone dies to get in.
But River has got his eyes only for Sage and the entire school knows it, which tenfold the jealousy and contempt for Sage.
River smirked and pulled Sage whispered in his ear, "A real man is who stays real to his words and doesn't quit," Sage felt a shiver as his cheeks instantly burned up. "Unlike someone who got scared just from a blowjob even if he was on the receiving end."
Sage's eyes widened as he felt embarrassed. "S-screw you!" He pushed River away who laughed. When will this idiot quit teasing me about that night?
Sage grumbled at River's silliness; he doesn't like the way River has been making fun of him ever since. Sage was just scared despite the fact that Sage is the one who demanded the blowjob. Not that he wasn't serious about it, just a little scared. Until now, he was only forced to give it to others and never received one himself, so his first time made him afraid.
River has been making fun of him for three days now, but Sage was too embarrassed to tell him the truth of why he tried to back off. Sage's been used and discarded all this time, and the way River insulted him for being a prostitute that day left him too ashamed and insecure to share this with River.
He thought River would do the same again, laugh and insult him for being a loser. But he never expected that the horny bastard would be more than happy to suck him.
"S-Stop following us. We'd like to study in peace," He tried his best to hide his anxiety in a grunt.
"You like to study? Pfft, don't make me laugh. Since when? You don't even like to play with me nowadays," River snorted and regretted it because Sage started to drag Eve more quickly.
"Play?" Eve scrunched his nose in confusion. "What were you playing?" He asked, thinking they were talking about football or other field games.
Sage eyes widened in horror. This crazy guy will corrupt this innocent puppy here.
"We were playing a really interesting game in our room," River laughed, feeling extremely joyful at Sage's frightened expression.
"What game? I wanna play too," Eve smiled excitedly.
"THREESOME!" River yelled, squeezing his huge body between them and throwing his arm over Eve and Sage's shoulder.
Sage became alarmed and yanked a baffled Eve away from his crazy roommate. "In your dreams," He told River and turned to Eve. "You can't! It was for adults so you can't play."
"What's a threesome?" Asked the innocent puppy.
"Hahaha!! Oh my…sweet little child…what are you doing here!! You're so innocent hahaha!!! How did you even get the black batch? What did you kill, a fly? We must protect him, Ziggy!"
Sage rolled his eyes and looked at Eve with a gentle gaze as if he was talking to a child and not someone who's taller and more muscled than him. "You don't need to know that, okay. And if anyone ask you to come in their room or wanted to play with you, you tell them no. And run from them, do you understand?"
"Well, we can tell him if he's interested. Let his curiousity explore new things--"
"River, seriously shut the fuck up. Not everything is related to your adventures," Sage yelled back at him. Eve befuddledly looks back and forth between them. "Come on, you don't need to be around assholes all the time, it's not good for your health."
"Hey, I can hear you, you know," River's smile widened as he cared less about someone's misery and feelings. All it matters is his own fun.
"Some assholes could be so rotten that they begin to stink, and if you stay near them for too long, they may make you sick as well, so run as fast as you can if you meet one," Sage rants while running from River with Eve.
But when they got into the hallway, the crowd there instantly perked up Eve's anxiety because almost everyone's faces turned to him.
The further they walked into the crowd of hooligans, the more eyes followed him. When he saw almost every student gasping and whispering at the sight of him, his eyes widened and he gulped in discomfort.
He shrunk further between Sage and River to avoid the curious stares. "How come they're all staring at me?"
"They're not looking at you, they're looking at your batch. And why wouldn't they?" Sage elaborated. "You're running ahead of them in the competition. They're scared that you'll win that race."
"What competition, what race? What are you talking about? Can you please be more specific, I'm not getting anything?" Eve let out in a somewhat frustrated tone, because they always left him hanging with half information.
He looked around and felt like a vulnerable kitten being thrown in the middle of hungry wild animals as bait to lure them.
"Soon, there will be a Night hunt where everyone will have the opportunity to try and eliminate Alpha and Luna to take their place. And since there was no Luna until now, their only target was Alpha. Who no one ever got so lucky to kill him," River explained himself thoroughly. He came to a halt and grabbed Eve's shoulder to make him realise the seriousness of the situation.
"Every year, on the seventh day of the new semester, a welcoming party is held to welcome newcomers. Like a freshers' party at school, though it's nothing like that here. Instead of delicious food and loud music, the newcomers have to prove their worth based on their batch. But it's just an excuse to establish who will be the hunters and who will be the prey. Those who'll be chosen as the prey will suffer for a year until the new students come and they could be replaced. And everyone is required to participate; no one is allowed to back out or hide."
Eve was willing to leave this planet if it meant getting away from this school.
"Do you remember that kid you tried to stand for?" River inquired, and Eve recalled how that kid almost got stabbed if not for his screaming that stopped it.
"T-Then that kid-"
"Yes, he's been essentially the prey since last year," Sage confirmed his suspicions.
"And the pe--"
"GET ASIDE, HE'S HERE!!"
All of the chaos came to a halt when a body looking nothing else than a slaughtered corpse was thrown in the middle of the cafeteria, out of nowhere.
Everyone sucked in their breaths at once knowing what was about to happen.
They took in the condition of the body and gasped, but didn't let their immense surprise make any noise. Because any kind of sound could direct the attention to them, and they could possibly lose their lives.
They sucked in their breath when their eyes landed on the shadow sprinting his way through the doors. Everybody shuffled on their feet as they gave the space to him.
River yanked Sage and a confused Eve by his sides when Alpha passed by them.
Although Eve didn't understand anything, his heartbeat quickened at the sight of Alpha, who appeared to have just emerged from a blood shower.
Eve can't help but start hyperventilating because of the deadly expression on Alpha's face. The recognition hits him. The face was from his nightmare.
And as if that wasn't enough to knock him out. He watched in horror how Alpha growled and smothered the face of the unconscious man under his feet. Eve cringed as he heard gasps and groans around him. Blood dribbled on the ground as if he just crushed a watermelon.
Eve flinched heavily and tasted a bitter taste as if it was happening to him, and it was worse than any of his nightmares.
"..." He was startled when a hand tightly clasped his wrist. Looking to his side, he discovered a trembling Sage who was desperately trying to hide his face behind River's back. Eve squeezed his hand back to provide him some assurance, even though he was about to wet his pants himself.
"Ahhhhhhhh-----urgh!!!!!-----mmagghhhh----" However, he instantly felt the need for that assurance, when he heard the cracking of bones and the loud scream that echoed in the cafeteria.
When he looked up, Alpha was dragging the already blood-soaked guy by his hair and hurled him into the wall, where his head collided with the concrete wall. But this inhuman torture did not end there. Alpha's solid and bloody fist strikes into his stomach, and he collapsed with a heavy thud on the floor. When the poor guy couldn't take any more violence, he vomited a disgusting liquid containing mostly blood and other substances.
Everyone scrunched their noses in disgust, but no one dared to consider stopping the ongoing violence.
However, that's not what surprised Eve, but the shining stone on that monster's shirt, which was similar to his own, and was glistening even more after being drenched in blood.
Eve almost lost his balance, the shock of finding out his roommate who almost killed him that day as his memory served, was about to turn his shattered sanity into a panic attack. He doesn't know how his luck could be so bad.
A tearing sound jolted him back to the ongoing carnage, and he shuddered as he watched Alpha tear the remaining shirt of his victim. Eve gulped in bewilderment as his heart couldn't stop pounding. When Alpha pulled out a knife, Eve slapped his hands in his mouth. Though his voice had already betrayed him, he was unable to make any noise, unlike last time.
As if his nerves were instinctively warning him that interfering in this person's business would be his last day on this earth.
Every rowdy and self-proclaimed big dog stood there silently watching Alpha do exactly what they only dared to bash around.
Alpha snarled, his nostrils flaring like a wolf in rage. He maliciously positioned the knife's point on the right shoulder of the guy wailing beneath him, and professionally used his full strength to drag it down to the left hip, and then did the same with the left shoulder and right hip. The nasty sound of the sharp weapon piercing through the flesh and instantly leaving the trails of nonstop blood made Alpha's heart flutter in satisfaction.
He came to a halt only when he finished forming the X that he always left once he finished with his target.
He stayed there admiring his work for a moment before rising and slipping his knife back into his pocket without wiping it clean because he likes it when the blood stays on it for a long time.
He looked up and immediately every one lowered their head to show him respect and as a sign of peace. Any pair of eyes found looking at him automatically means that they are challenging him.
"Anyone else likes to try their luck?!" Alpha growled, his preying bloodshot eyes roamed across the room. Nobody looked into his eyes. "Go on! I fucking dare you."
Everyone seemed turned into statues. River, too, stayed silent and didn't dare approach him either to show Alpha, that he was above them all.
However, a certain newbie who's still not aware of how exactly things work in a situation like this didn't understand what he was supposed to do. His heart hammered and chest heaved where a similar X is craved. His suspicions turned into reality.
Shit! He-He's...that guy. So, that....stranger is my---room-
But before Eve could understand anything, he had successfully captured the devil's attention. And when his fearful eyes met the bloodthirsty ones. Eve couldn't take them away as if he was hypnotised by them. He paralyzed on the spot, the menacing eyes holding him into a tight grip.
When Eve didn't lower his head or look away, Alpha sinisterly tilted his head and smirked at him. Evilness dripping from his face.
Even though he could see Eve trembling, he was surprised at how well he was doing after going through something similar to that boy. Alpha craved the need to put Eve through it again and see him cry.
Alpha began to walk slowly towards Eve, who peered at the blood stains on Alpha's face and clothes. A cold wave engulfed him, raising the hairs on the back of his neck and making his mouth dry.
Sensing how abruptly Eve's entire body tensed up, River thoughtfully looked up, and instantly his eyes widened when he found out about the staring contest Eve was having with Alpha. River mentally faces palms hard.
'Why does this guy want to die so early?' River hurriedly blocked Eve from Alpha when his huge body stopped in front of them.
"You're not supposed to look him in the eyes." River whispered to Eve. "He's new here, he doesn't know the rules," He begged Alpha, much to Sage's surprise who never thought that River could ever stand up to Alpha.
River looked Alpha straight in the eyes and pleads him. Alpha grits his teeth and snarls at him before aggressively grabbing his collar and shoving him aside.
Fear crept upon everyone as they mentally prepared themselves to encounter another scene because they were well aware that Alpha never let slide this kind of disrespect. Some of them feel joy, and wonder how River will save this newbie now as he always does.
However, much to their surprise and disappointment. Alpha towered over Eve who was still looking in his eyes. Alpha gazed down at the badly shaking body in front of him from head to toe, but didn't do anything.
Instead, Alpha turned to Sage who has successfully hidden himself well…till now. Sage stopped breathing when Alpha slid his finger under his chin and made him look up…that without breaking eyes with Eve.
Sage, though his head was facing upwards, he gulped in fear but kept his eyes lower.
"Meet me in room no. 670 tonight," Alpha declared, with a tone that would not take no for an answer. However, as much as Sage felt disgusted and was frozen in terror. River's frowned expression didn't seem too good as well.
Without waiting for any answer Alpha turned around and left. And everyone let out the breaths they were holding for so long.
"Kiddo, You'll be the death of me one day," River sighed out to Eve, as he rubbed his face in frustration.
"I'm s-sorry," Eve cried out, his eyes welling up. Nonetheless, he couldn't help but wonder. Because now that he knows that the monster is his roommate, he wanted to know why he punished him. "Why did he beat that kid?"
"He doesn't need a reason to beat anyone. He just does it when he feels like it," Sage robotically let out.
"Umm, he's right. But this time he does have a reason," River explained as he gazed at a frozen Sage who was staring into nothing.
"W-What?" Eve questioned.
"That boy was tailing him and giving out the information to his rivals," River answered without taking his eyes off Sage.
"He tortured that guy just for that?" Eve was astounded beyond words.
"We don't call him Psycho for a reason," Sage said without any emotions. Because again, he has to pay the price for someone else's fault. Eve gave him a guilty look.
"I'm so--" Sage turned on his heels and left before Eve could finish.
"Go straight to your room! Don't wander anywhere, alright?!" River made it clear as he patted Eve's shoulder before running after his roommate.
🐺🙀😊
When Eve entered the dorm, he felt his soul leave his body when he saw Alpha sitting peacefully on his bed, with a fresh face and a naked upper body, holding a small paper box of juice. There were no signs of blood on his smooth glistening body.
Eve's breathing became obstructed in his throat, and he was unable to enter further into the room. Alpha glanced up when he noticed another presence in the room.
And Eve was shocked when he couldn't find the madness that had been in Alpha's eyes just moments earlier. Right now his eyes appeared somehow…
Somehow innocent.
"Hey," Eve choked on his breath when he heard the soft whisper. He wondered whether he was dreaming, and he almost believed it when Alpha smiled at him.
"I was waiting for you?"
