Chapter 17

"Or do you want me to do the pleasure?"

Sage gulped heavily at the lascivious voice, which was so erotic that Sage would have blushed and felt butterflies if it belonged to a certain oblivious asshole who only knew how to snap at him.

When Sage didn't let out a single breath or remove his clothes. Alpha raised his head to gaze at him and he stumbled off balance by the devil's darkening yet fascinating gaze.

An animalistic growl escaped his throat, which made Sage lose control of his nerves, and hurriedly dragged his feet until he reached the centre of the room. He nervously drew his lower lip between his teeth, but didn't dare to look at his ostensibly sleeping partner for the night.

The fear was intense.

"You came prepared, right?" Alpha jumped off the desk, and it took him just two steps to reach Sage with his long legs. "Because I don't want you wasting my time."

"Y-Yes," he stiffened when Alpha loomed over his trembling body.

Alpha chuckled when Sage gasped even before Alpha could touch him. Without warning, Alpha moved his tempestuously tall body closer to Sage and started opening his shirt's buttons one by one.

"Look up," Alpha demanded atrociously, leaving Sage with no choice but to do so. He began to shake as soon as his watery eyes met bewitching silver-brown eyes so enchanting that, even though they appeared dead, they were capable of imprisoning anyone in them.

But they aren't as beautiful as River's bright honey-brown eyes, which seemed to hold the world.

Why am I thinking about him at a time like this? Why does everything always remind me of him? Why is my every thought filled with him when he doesn't even care?

"What do you know about that new kid?"

He snapped out of his puppy love when a breathy pant brushed against his lower mouth. He blinked in dread at Alpha, whose face was inches away from his. Heartbeats beating at the speed of a bullet train, the nerve-wrenching overstimulation skyrocketed his nerves, and he felt his legs going jelly.

"H-Huh?" His voice cracked in atrocity, because his mind had successfully stopped working at this point.

Sage looked at him in terror, and Alpha rolled his eyes. Slow fucker.

Alpha moves his face closer to Sage in an attempt to make his question more clear; their noses brushed, his lips loomed over Sage's quivering ones, but they never actually touched.

"My roommate? What do you know about him? What did he do to end up here? I want you to give me every piece of information you have about him. River told me that you cared about that kid so much, so you must be friends with him now. And friends share every shit with each other, so tell me about him?"

River, you backstabbing piece of garbage! You have to tell him everything!

Sage couldn't figure out how to respond to these trails of questions. Though he was terrified from Alpha's overwhelming torture and flabbergast, he was having a difficult time bearing the assault his nerves were enduring, and he couldn't decide whether or not he should give Eve away.

If I tell him something useful about Eve, will he let me go?

"I-I don't know a-anything...about him. We have only met a few times, and h-he always avoids topics related to himself. So I d-don't know much about him," Despite his lack of knowledge about Eve, he decided not to sell the kid to the devil.

I'm going to suffer anyways, so why not suffer for Eve's sake as well?

Alpha glared at him for a while, sending a blood-curdling shiver down his spine. Reading his face for a while Alpha snarled at Sage, successfully opening all the buttons of his shirt. Sage shivered at the sudden exposure of his skin.

"If I find you making a fool of me, I'll cut open your skull." Alpha places his entire palm against Sage's abdomen. That lean body of his shuddered under the cold hand.

He stroked his hand up Sage's chest and stopped at his neck where it naturally closed around it. "I want you to do something; consider it as your mission from me. Find out everything you can about him, do whatever it takes. Kill anyone, break into the principal's office to steal his files, torture him until he spills his every secret, I don't give a flying fuck. But not a single detail about his existence should be missed out. Or you'll be doomed."

If it's a dream, Sage wanted to wake up soon because it's beginning to suffocate him.

"It's an order so you have to do it whether you like it or not," Alpha warned, making Sage gag by applying intense pressure to his neck.

Alpha smirked as he noticed Sage coughing and trembling in fear. "Now that I've said everything you need to hear, let's get started on the reason you came here."

Alpha chuckled wickedly and reached out his hand to open Sage's pants.

However, before he could do so, the doors blew open like they had been hit by a powerful hurricane. And a mysterious shadow was cast inside by the swift wind.

It didn't do much damage but sure as hell put a stop to the relentless assault on Sage's sanity and body.

"What the fuck are you doing?! Do you not love your life anymore?!!" Alpha snapped at River, his face darkened as he was ready to crack some necks.

River befuddled-ly blinked at him, his chest heaving heavily after running for so long, he couldn't understand what to answer because he was asking himself the same question.

He looked lost as hell. As he walked further into the room, he glanced at Sage, whose eyes were wide with confusion, but River could see his complexion relax at the sight of him.

River appeared more perplexed than either of them. Alpha couldn't tell if he was truly stupid or just acting dumb.

"Speak before I rearrange your guts in place of him," Shocked to death, River started laughing awkwardly.

"Come on dude! ha ha! give me some time to make up something-...I mean to think why did I come here," Alpha glared at him with death in his eyes. He doesn't like his precious time to be wasted like this by the pair of these foolish roommates. Sage mentally faces palms and shakes his head.

"Oh yeah! I came here to inform you that your precious roomy is being beaten up," River yelled, like it was the biggest news of the year. He dumbfoundedly stared at Alpha when he didn't react to his headlines worth news.

"And why are you telling me that?" Alpha deadpanned while Sage wanted to know what happened with Eve.

"It's my duty as your right hand to keep you informed of everything that occurs in Sunford, and didn't you ask me to keep an eye on that kid?" He continued ranting like an idiot. "I mean how could he have the audacity to go around and get his ass whooped from someone else when a whole big and strong roommate like you exists for that hahaha--!" Right now River appeared grouchy and a pain in the ears to Alpha.

"Get to the point," Alpha demanded because he knew that wasn't the reason why River came here. Alpha's lip slightly curved into a smirk narcissistically as he raised his brows.

"I-" Halting his nonsense, River narrowed his guilty eyes at Sage and then back at Alpha. "I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I shouldn't have talked between you and your prey and tried to save him. I promise it won't happen again."

River apologised, he realised that doing so could jeopardise his own personal belongings. Sage was perplexed by the tension between them. When River looked at him with a pained expression, Sage's heartbeats began to race. River ambled towards him and tugged at Alpha's grip around Sage's neck. "Please let go of him."

"If he dared to get in my way again, things won't end well next time," Alpha warned Sage, and then looked at River.

"Hallway no.46," River let out without him asking.

 🐇😿😣

Hallway no. 46.

Eve was on his way to buy apple juice for the devil who's suddenly acting like an angel. No, he's still a devil, and a perverted one at that.

Walking through the deserted hallways evokes a terrifying movie scene at night. It was creepy and scary, as if a ghost was about to pounce on him out of nowhere. But he wasn't as terrified of ghosts as he was of Sunford academy. He's become paranoid of every shadow or noise since arriving here; anything could happen at any time. He considered returning to his room, but that would mean confronting the devil with empty hands, so he decided to go the other way.

"Don't you know that it's prohibited to roam around at night," Eve's soul left his body, the life left his eyes, and all the colour drained out of his face, when the chilling voice pierced through his ears?

Following the voice, he turned around, and found a bunch of boys leaning against the wall. Every one of them has a smug and mischievous grin on their faces.

Eve looked at them with fear-filled wide eyes, without wasting his time he turned around and started running with his full strength. However, after not more than ten steps, he was forcefully grabbed by his back collar and slammed into the wall. The boys circled around him, he disappeared among their huge frames.

"You think you're a big deal just because you're Alpha's roommate and got a black batch?" One of them with a nose piercing barked as the words came out of his mouth with spat, making Eve jump and disgusted.

"L-Let me go, w-what do you g-guys want?" Eve tried not to look scared and kept his stand, despite the fact that he was about to pee his pants.

The boys exchanged glances with each other and then burst out laughing at Eve's pathetic attempt to look strong. The poor boy frowned in confusion, what he said was funny to make them laugh so madly.

"We want to teach you a lesson. You have grown wings because you haven't been picked on yet, huh?" When they stopped laughing and returned to their terrifying form, the other on Eve's right side remarked. "You think you're different from other kids here who are struggling to survive and fight alone? But nothing will change for you just because River has your back-"

"What a lovely meeting we have going on here."

Silence.

A kind of silence that was screaming more than ever.

Sucking in their breaths, they slowly turned around, and their souls immediately left their bodies when their gaze fell on a tall figure, taller than them all.

"Why did you stop?" Alpha inquired, turning his gaze to Eve, who was already staring at him with big wet puppy eyes. "Tsk tsk tsk I'm disappointed in you all," He sighed dissatisfied. As he leaned against a wall, he spread his legs and dug his hands into his pockets, staring at them. "Now, if you don't want to be on my blacklist and suffer for the entire year, I suggest you go back to what you were doing. And if I find any internal injury or broken bones after you've finished with my little roomy, I'll make you all vanish from the face of the earth."

The hallway appeared to have turned into a hunting ground, and the hunter was a large wolf who was in the mood for double hunting today.

Eve cried out his misfortune, he sniffled and shivered profusely. He was terrified as he looked between the boys ready to pounce on him and Alpha, who was smirking wickedly. He couldn't figure out what he had done wrong to deserve a living hell like this.

"N---no...pl---please..." He sobbed uncontrollably as his eyes screamed Alpha for help and begged him to get him out of this madness.

But, he couldn't find those innocent and beautiful eyes anymore, all he found on Alpha's face pure evilness and hostility.

"Ahhh!" Before he could react, he was aggressively shoved into the wall and a very painful and nasty punch landed in his stomach. Not only one, but one after one numerous punches struck on his mouth and stomach until he started to taste blood. He coughed more blood as he started to see stars. He was already wounded, and now this torment hurts like a bitch.

A loud crying escaped his bloody mouth as a heavy punch landed on his nose which caused his head to be thrown back and hit the wall. And this was the last stroke to his conscience and he fell on the ground, he blinked and tried his best to not to lose consciousness, but the unbearable pain in his entire body made it impossible for him and he passed out.

The boys stared at his half-dead body in trepidation and gulped dreadfully. They turned to Alpha who was emotionlessly glaring at Eve's beaten body with an indecision in his eyes.

"Did I tell you guys to stop?!" He growled, and he started to tremble himself, as if he was suddenly possessed by something. Alpha groaned in aggravation as his jaw twitched and his eyes burned with something incomprehensible.

Fearing for their lives, they began kicking a passed-out victim who was wincing and whimpering with his eyes closed. After a while, when the victim's face and body were unrecognisable, they stopped their exploitation and turned to face Alpha, to see whether he was satisfied this time or if they should continue.

"Leave," All it took one word for them all to sprint out of that hallway to save their lives.

Alpha kept staring at Eve without blinking for a long time, numerous unreadable expressions crossed his face, until he couldn't stare anymore. He grunts like a wild animal and rubs his hands across his face.

He walked to Eve and squatted down, he easily scooped him in his arms, like how he did the last time.

He remorsefully looked down at Eve's bloody and badly bruised frame. He buried his face in Eve's neck and inhaled deeply, his lips and face staining in Eve's blood.

He's really warm. You're lucky I found your warmth and that's why I didn't dispose of you.

"This is the second time, when I have to pick your weakass. There won't be a next time because you'll either leave this school by ambulance or leave this world."
