*BANG*
The innocent door which was in his way, swung open by a forceful kick. The loud slam echoed throughout the quiet hallway.
Eve, who had been peacefully nestled in his arms, flinched as his heart pounded in his chest. His eyes brimming with fear yet he didn't move, not because he was being daring but because his whole body was numb and aching.
Inside the room, the air hung heavy with tension as Alpha stood frozen, his gaze staring into nothing. For some reason, the big bad guy didn't understand what he should do next with a softly sniffling boy clinging to him.
He was having mixed feelings of anger and frustration. Should he throw Eve out of the window because of his irritating cries, or should he question himself as to why he helped Eve in the first place?
"Fucking hell!" Alpha, a tall and muscular man with a brooding demeanour, who had a habit of belittling everyone, couldn't believe himself that he was holding a delicate and timid young boy with a soft-hearted nature.
Alpha let out an irritated sigh, his grumpy expression evident was on his face, yet his true feelings were masked.
He watched as the blood seeped from Eve's wounds, staining his trembling fingers and falling onto Alpha's shirt. "Angh!" He didn't waste time and threw Eve on his bed, who cried out in agony.
"You're getting all that blood on me, fat cheeks," he sighed out a grumpy breath, though his facial expressions showed that he didn't mind getting strained by Eve's blood.
"I-I'm sorry," Eve stammered weakly, his voice barely audible as emotions overwhelmed him. He winced while trying to adjust himself on the bed.
"Shut up, you're really useless!" Alpha snapped, his words cutting through the air with a harshness that pierced Eve's fragile emotions and Eve felt even more useless.
However, Eve gasped in horror at the sight of the blood on Alpha's clothes even though he could barely breathe. Alpha stared as the pain reflected in his teary gaze.
"Oh my God! Your c-clothes!" Eve exclaimed, his voice trembling with apprehension and anguish.
Frustrated by the incessant crying, Alpha rolled his eyes and scolded him. "Why the fuck are you crying again?! Stop overreacting! It's just blood, I can just take my clothes off! It's not a big deal."
Eve jumped, hurting his wounds in the process, his bare chest heaved with heavy sobs as he rubbed his puffy, red eyes. But the stubborn tears refused to subside, streaming down his chubby, red cheeks. It wasn't his intention to be annoying.
"Your clothes got dirty...'hiccup'...because of...o-of me. I'm r-really...really sorry," He managed to say through his sniffling and hiccups.
Alpha paused, his dead gaze fixed upon Eve. He gave the sobbing boy a moment to finish speaking, unexpectedly affected by the piece of vulnerability before him. Though he tried to convince himself that Eve was nothing more than a pathetic crybaby, an unexpected surge washed over him.
"I-I'm sorry, Please don't hurt me!" Eve cried out, his voice quivering with a mix of desperation and hope. He thought he would get beaten again just like last night. His head was so messed up that he was even doubting whether it was all true or not, whether this person standing in front of him was real or just a hallucination. Would he disappear again like he just did a few hours ago?
"You're starting to give me a headache. Stop crying, or else I'll gag you with the pillow," Alpha threatened half-heartedly, his voice was much softer this time.
But the threat only made Eve cry harder. Alpha rolled his eyes, and as he groaned, he reassured Eve in a begrudging yet comforting tone, "Alright, I won't gag you! But not because I pity you or anything, it's just..it's no fun beating who can't fight back. And I also don't mind the blood so stop crying."
Eve, perplexed by the sudden change in his behaviour, stared at him with watery eyes. At times Alpha told him that he hates him and his face, and sometimes he helps him. It's really getting difficult to understand his roommate's mindset day by day.
But, having a fragile heart and being so broken right now, Eve was moved and touched.
However, he's not aware of how dangerous that is for his pure soul. He wasn't mindful of the lurking eyes that were deeply fixed on him. How the troubled soul named Alpha, suddenly gleamed with a disturbing delight the longer he was watching the sobbing boy.
His heart was shrouded in darkness, and his mind was plagued by twisted thoughts. He suddenly felt a peculiar fascination with pure Eve.
"Why d-did you help me?" Eve asked curiously breaking the silence as he watched Alpha intently.
Alpha wore a slightly menacing demeanour, he didn't respond and kept on staring at him, frightening him even more.
Eve couldn't tear his gaze away from Alpha's piercing eyes. Something was intriguing and mysterious in those eyes. Something that just kept a tight grip on Eve, hypnotising him.
Instead of answering Alpha retrieved a first aid kit from the cabinet and took a seat beside Eve, causing him to be alerted. Alpha noticed it and his interest was piqued, so his movements became more deliberate and focused.
Silence enveloped them for a moment as Alpha prepared the medicine. The sound of their steady breathing and the rustling of packaging filled the atmosphere.
"Help? I barely did anything," Alpha spoke softly, breaking the silence.
When Alpha extended his hand to apply the medicine to his wounds, he flinched away with wide eyes but abruptly stopped after meeting a deadly glare from Alpha. Not wanting to offend the devil, he slowly moved forward to let his roommate do the work.
The coolness of the ointment made his wound even more aching, increasing the pain. He winced as Alpha's fingertips delicately grazed the edges of his wounds.
"Ahng—Ah!"
Alpha paused his actions at the sound and looked up at him. Eve blushed and lowered his gaze, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over him.
Alpha continued again making Eve's heart race. His hands wandered across Eve's feverish body. It seemed as if he was intentionally making the touches slow and alluring. The touch sent a strange mixture of fear and trance through Eve's veins, and he couldn't help but shiver under the coldness of Alpha's touch. He could barely keep the voices in.
When he looked up, he sucked in a breath after finding Alpha staring at his face instead of the wounds. Their eyes remained locked, and the tension in the room thickened.
Alpha, whose features were both intimidating and bewitching, leaned his face closer, his voice dropping to a low, husky tone. "But that doesn't mean you don't owe me," he whispered, his breath brushing against Eve's lips.
Eve's breath hitched, unsure of what Alpha meant by that statement. He gulped the thick lump in his throat. "W-What do you mean?" he managed to stammer out, his voice barely audible.
Alpha's grip on his wrists tightened, yet the squeeze didn't bring pain, only a strange sensation that made Eve's cheeks flush and his heart race. He didn't hate the feeling. Eve's pulse quickened, his confusion mingling with an undeniable attraction. His body unconsciously reacting to Alpha's touch.
Alpha's fingers traced a path along Eve's jawline, sending shivers down his spine. "What I mean is…" he continued, his voice dripping with a seductive undertone. "You will find out soon. But first, you must embrace this darkness around you. You need to learn your way here."
Eve's eyes widened, torn between the allure of Alpha's words and the nagging voice of caution in his mind. Alpha leaned in, his lips grazing over Eve's ear. "So, are you ready to surrender yourself?"
Eve's heart pounded in his chest, his thoughts a jumble of conflicting desires. The world around him seemed to fade away as he stared into Alpha's mesmerising eyes, his body caught between fear and the intoxicating allure of the handsome devil before him. He shuddered at the closeness.
Without any conscience, he nodded.
Alpha smirked at his victory, as crooked and dark thoughts ran through his head. However, his smile didn't stay for too long.
It vanished when his finger grazed over Eve's palm. His expression turned to shock as his eyes quickly dropped to Eve's palm, where lay a similar cut to him. A long and old cut that seemed to be old enough to hurt now.
He abruptly stood up, leaving Eve's hand.
He clenched his fist, where set an identical cut to Eve's.
Alpha couldn't speak or move for a moment and just stared between Eve and his hand. Everything began to change in his eyes. His heartbeats quickened suddenly, a sharp pierced in his head.
"Who..are you?" He questioned with heavy breaths and burning eyes.
"W-What?" Eve asked in fear, unable to understand Alpha's sudden change in behaviour.
But Alpha flinched at his voice, it gave him shivers. His body was reacting in a way it shouldn't. And it was all because of the small similar wound.
Without saying a word, he hurriedly left the room. He couldn't calm down and began hyperventilating, feeling a throbbing pain in his head.
When he was a few hallways away, he stopped and reached into his pockets and took out the small bottle of drugs that he carries everywhere, swallowing pill after pill, in an attempt to stop the loud voices in his head. His eyes were fighting to stay open.
"Where are you rushing?" Alpha stopped in his tracks as he heard a familiar voice.
Turning around to find a glasses guy standing there with an emotionless face.
"Nick?" Alpha frowned, struggling to breathe. "What t-the hell are you doing here?!"
"How or why I'm here shouldn't concern you, but what the hell is happening to you surely should!" Nick gritted his jaw in agitation. "Uncle Antonio won't like seeing you like this."
Alpha flinched at the name as his heart raced, worsening his condition.
"I...I'm fine," Alpha stammered with obvious lies because he knew how the hell would break loose if they found him in this situation.
"Fine my ass!" Nick growled, approaching the trembling Alpha, who seemed on the verge of collapsing. Nick grabbed his collar and prevented him from falling. "How many damn pills did you take?"
"N-Not that much…Just...four," Alpha weakly admitted.
"Are you kidding me?! Why would you do this when you know how dangerous that drug is? Do you want to overdose and die? You can't just die! This life doesn't belong to you!" Nick fumed in anger. "Don't forget those pills are for experimental purposes, not for your pleasure!"
"But that boy keeps on playing with my head. I feel like dying..." Alpha slurred his words, slowly losing consciousness to the point where he didn't know what he was saying.
"Boy? What boy are you talking about? Have you lost your mind? There are many boys here, so which one? And if someone is bothering you, get rid of him. What's so hard about it?!" Nick furrowed his brow in confusion.
"No!" Alpha pushed him hard in the chest, causing Nick to stumble back and cough. Nick wasn't surprised by Alpha's sudden strength, knowing he was under the influence of the drug. It was understandable but dangerous. He knew Alpha could kill anyone who got in his way right now. "I won't kill him! He has to stay alive--"
Nick closely observed Alpha's condition, mentally taking notes as his job suggests. He watched as Alpha's expressions kept changing, from furious and wild to broken and weak, like a child.
He slowly sighed. "Fine, this time I won't tell Dad anything and cover up the missing pill, but you need to tell me about this boy you're talking about."
Alpha who was unable to understand anything anymore suddenly cries out as the voices in his head begin to get louder. If any Sunford student saw him right now, they might think he's the weakest one here.
Nick didn't understand what caused him to be this intensely triggered. It's almost like that time when he was….
"L-Lia...I want my Lia," Alpha whimpered not looking scary anymore.
Nick's eyes widened in shock and pure fear at the name. How did he remember that name when we had removed it from his system?
He approached Alpha again with a dreadful expression. "No one with that name exists. Now tell me who you're talking about." He huffed helplessly. "Tell me about that boy?!"
So, that I could get rid of him.
"R-Roommate..." Alpha managed to say, his head wasn't working properly. "Fat c-cheeks…"
Nick frowned in confusion.
"What nonsense are you spouting? You don't have any roommate!"
