Chapter 28

"No...that's not how you eat candy, Will. You need to first take off its wrapper..."

A cheerful voice said, it was sweet and melodic, resonating with warmth. It sounded both near and far at the same time. It felt like a gentle breeze softly brushing against your face before drifting away for another lucky victim.

Emotionless eyes stared back at the figure and the source of that bright voice. The figure seems like a shadow, devoid of any face or colour, it was like a ghost yet its presence was comforting and warm as it unwrapped the candy for Willuf whose expression was stoic.

"Here, you can eat it now, Will," the shadow offered him the small piece of candy, holding it delicately between its translucent fingers.

Willulf's gaze remained fixed on the shadow's form, his dead eyes showing no emotions. He blinked but the face of the shadow didn't get clear. His stomach grumbled loudly, a stark reminder that he hasn't eaten for days, yet he made no move to accept the candy.

"Why are you not taking it? Did you not like the candies I give you anymore?" The shadow's voice wavered with a hint of disappointment, its tone turning sad. "If you don't take it, I will not come to meet you anymore...."

Willuf's dead eyes twitched at this, fear filling them, his body instantly grew colder as the shadow's presence began to fade. The thought of losing the shadow's warmth filled him with anxiety and dread. His body was full of marks of earlier beatings, covered in bruises and huge burns marks.

Desperate to keep the shadow close, Willulf forced himself to extend a shaking hand, his fingers full of cuts trembled, filled with dry and wet blood marks. The heavy chains and locks encircling his arms and wrists clinked and rustled with each strained movement.

The noise made Willulf flinch, his pain intensified by the jarring sound, but he endured, because he didn't want the shadow to fade away. He knows what happens when this mysterious disguised shadow leaves him alone.

The abyss of being lonely terrified him, and the darkness of the hell he was chained to held terrors he could not face alone. He doesn't like the dark, it frightened him. He gets colder and those scary guards beat him until he passes out from the unbearable pain.

"So, you really don't want it! Hmph! I will not come to meet you anymore!"

"L-Li----!" He hushed out, and parted his lips but couldn't make any sound. His eyes widened as the shadow began to fade.

"L-Li...a w-where are you go-going! Pl... Please don't leave...me!" His voice cracked, a raw and desperate plea escaping his dry lips. "D-Don't go…it hurts…h-here—!"

He reached out, but again and again his hand fell to his side. The shadow disappeared completely, he desperately reached for nothing, and even though his eyes were just as cold as his body, his heart cried in unbearable pain. The misery in his eyes that were red with heavy eyebags seemed to be begging, his whole being wracked with a chilling sense of abandonment.

He watched his tragedy as his everything fell apart in front of him. Again.

"...." Alpha gasped heavily, his body paralysed and he couldn't move at all. He didn't understand whether he was awake or was still trapped in his nightmare.

After a few minutes, his eyes fluttered open, his chest heaving as he gasped for air. The dream had ended, yet the remnants of its emotions clung to him like a haunting melody. He lay there, cold sweat dotting his forehead, his body still weary from the nightmare and he was shivering uncontrollably as if he was having a high fever. His heart just couldn't stop thundering as he tried to move his hand.

Finding the other side cold and empty, his anger skyrocketed. He quickly sat up, his head was heavy, and his nostrils flared he have never felt so fucked up at once. He was at his most dangerous and untamed state where he could kill anyone for no good reason.

And upon not finding the addicted heat near him anymore he saw red. The loss of rationality in his eyes triggered his desires to hurt everything and everyone in his sight.

His raging eyes scanned the room until they landed on Eve, who stood motionless at the window, gazing up at the sky. Eve was so lost in his own little world that he didn't even notice the waking up of the furious beast he left unleashed on the bed.

The chilly breeze crept in through the window, causing Alpha to shiver even more. His hair stood on end, but for some reason, he couldn't tear his gaze away from Eve, whose face was calm. As if he had forgotten about all the conflicts he was going through.

Without uttering a word, Alpha rose from the bed, and the noise drew Eve's attention back to reality. Eve jumped, turning around he was taken aback to find Alpha awake. His gorgeous sapphire eyes seemed particularly captivating at that moment that they could mesmerize anyone. They possess a unique allure and depth, as if peering into them could reveal a universe of secrets.

However, those eyes weren't the only ones that were hiding secrets. Alpha stared at him in silence as if reading him yet Alpha couldn't find any answers there for the first time. It made him confused and frustrated.

Eve's heart raced at their ongoing staring contest. He tried to move backward when Alpha slowly began to approach him like a wild predator, but since there was no space between Eve and the window he couldn't run anywhere. He gulped the thick lump in his throat as he watched his alluring death getting nearer.

The room suffocated with tension as Eve tried his best not to trail his eyes across that well-developed body, where his shoulders were wider than his waist forming a V-shape torso.

Eve couldn't help but feel a wave of heat shooting through him as Alpha closed in the distance. "Why are you just standing here? Do you want to jump?" His deep voice carried an innate charm and suffocation which cut through the air. A silly playfulness rested on his face instead of his earlier rage.

And if Eve hadn't been lost in Alpha's piercing gaze and upon suddenly towering over him, he would have answered. Right now, Eve just felt a strange and intense pull toward his tormentor. Sure he was scared but this time it was a different kind of fear which he couldn't recognise himself.

Alpha lowered his face and continued when Eve remained silent. His face unbearably close to Eve, looking deep into his eyes, he whispered. "Didn't I tell you that your body belongs to me now? So why did you leave the bed without my permission?"

Eve sucked in a breath from the authority and the power Alpha's voice possessed. He finds himself lured by that natural seductive tone. His heart thundering in anticipation, it stirred his soul and a shiver ran down his spine.

"Ah!" he gasped, his breath heavy, when Alpha's hand slithered around his waist, pulling him closer. In that instant, all thoughts of the excuse Eve had planned to tell Alpha vanished completely. His hands found their place on Alpha's board shoulders, and he could feel the chilling touch of Alpha's skin. A shudder broke into his nerves as he struggled to comprehend the strange sensations rushing through his body.

Eve lost control of his own mind as he stared into those silver brown piercing eyes with intensity. He didn't fight or try to break free, the dangerous aura that gaze consisted of, restrained him from doing so.

"Y-You were making weird noises..it seems you were having a nightmare. After that, I couldn't sleep…so..I came here," Eve responded, his voice barely audible. He noticed the discomfort that washed over Alpha's face upon hearing his words, as if a troubling memory resurfaced, hardening Alpha's expression.

"Ahh—Hey wait!" Eve cried out as he was abruptly spun around and his face was shoved against the window. The cold body trapped him from behind, his back pressing against a firm chest. Eve's heart hammered against his chest, his mind screaming for him to fight back. But he was too stunned to do anything. He knew rebelling against this guy would be useless, recalling how everyone trembled at the mere sight of him.

"Still, you shouldn't have left me freezing," Alpha whispered right in his ear, his cold breath triggering goosebumps on Eve's puzzled body which was shamefully reacting to him.

Eve swallowed hard, feeling a rush of heat despite Alpha's chilling presence. "I...I won't do it again," he stammered, clearing his throat. Why am I feeling so hot, even though his touch is cold?

Alpha chuckled, the sound filled with seductive mischief, and it made Eve's knees weak. A wave of excitement and confusion stirred within him, his stomach fluttering with anxiety.

"I don't like excuses, fat cheeks," Alpha purred, his voice tainted with sensuality. His hand moved up to Eve's throat, gently tugging it upwards for Eve to lift his head, granting him more access and control. Eve gasped, his own body betraying him as butterflies danced in his stomach and his heart pounded with thrilling curiosity. He painfully wondered why he was so strongly reacting to these violent actions.
