Antonio ordered and the surroundings were scoured by Alpha's rapacious vision. Those wearing blue suits flinched as they became the prey of the ruthless.
Alpha's muscles were fueled by the powerful effects of NeuroRage and he moved with amazing speed and agility. Without notice, he drew closer to his first victim. In a split second, his fists slammed into the man's chest, the sound of his punch and bones cracking echoing through the room. The man hardly got the time to reach it and slid to the ground dead.
Panic shook the crowd of blue suit men who were just being sacrificed for a psychopath's fun. Antonio enjoyed the show from afar. A wicked smirk on his lips as he watched his destructive weapon destroy everyone.
People dressed in blue fled in all directions, hoping to escape their deaths. River was scared of himself. He knew if Antonio ordered Alpha to kill him Alpha would do it without blinking as he wasn't in his right state of mind. He could just hope to get out alive today.
Alpha's face remained icy and unfeeling as he followed his prey, each takedown carried out with brutal efficiency. His movements were mechanical and emotionless, as if he were a machine programmed for violence. Which he was.
And just like that, he killed every single person wearing a blue suit, completing Antonio's command.
He stood still and strong in the middle of the blood, drenching in the 14 people's unforgiving blood. But he doesn't care, his eyes have lost all traces of humanity to care about anything.
"Nick, awake the yellow batch targets from their "Sonambulo Syndrome". Let's know how much he can handle now," Antonio commanded.
Sonambulo Syndrome is psychological torture. It's been used on the subjects every day at nine to make them sleep or pass out. It caused its victims to fall into an intense slumber.
It could be done by anything, a word, a sound, or even a specific image. Something that could spark a strong need to sleep, and the victim passes out without warning.
In Sunford, it is done by the sound of a bell.
"Yes Uncle," Nick nodded before ringing the bell three times which worked as an antidote and would only awaken the yellow batch and not the red batch holders.
River sighed secretly, this was the only time he loved that Sage had the red batch.
The main motives of these batches were to simply differentiate between his target. Yellow batch holders were his victims to first level and red batch holders were just the final victims and those who were stronger.
And when he would eliminate both of them, his training would end.
"Turn on the CCTV of the entire Sunford," Antonio yelled before walking up to Alpha, his shoes against the blood making a nasty noise. "Eliminate every yellow batch. Leave no survivors."
Alpha nodded without hesitation. Everyone watched with sucked in breath as the instrument of destruction exited the room to follow his mission.
They all watched on the big screens as the yellow batch holders left the room and began to gather up in the corridors. They yelled and lunged towards Alpha as he was their target as well.
Alpha launched into a ruthless assault. He was bare-handed, yet his movements were rapid, precise, and merciless. His target began to collapse one by one. But it wasn't enough as they were in a big number, no matter how many he killed they kept coming.
As cries and screams filled Antonio's ears through the screen, he stood with a frightened detachment, his sinister experiment drawing to an end.
However, his smile dropped when Alpha turned into a corridor, he came to a complete stop. There stood someone who wasn't wearing a batch. The shadow of the person was tall and dark, his face was dull and gloomy.
"Who the hell is he?" Antonio asked furiously, glaring at the person through the screen.
"He's the roommate! Yes, he's the one who's living with Alpha!" Nick scrambled for an explanation.
"Here you are. Playing silly games here while I was waiting for you in the dorm," Eve let out emotionlessly staring at Alpha's face that was stained in crimson liquid. His eyes trailed down to his stomach which was oozing blood as well but it seemed Alpha was completely unaware of that or any pain.
Alpha froze, unable to identify the guy before him. He tilted his head at Eve's words. The lack of an order to eliminate Eve put him in a condition of perplexity, which Eve took advantage of.
Eve stepped forward and punched him in the guts right where he was shot by Nick. In an instant, Alpha coughed blood.
Eve's blows poured down on Alpha viciously. He aimed for his knees and face, each punch intended to make him weak since Alpha could not be stopped right now. As he absorbed the attack, Alpha's imposing presence was temporarily reduced to weakness and he fell to the ground.
Antonio clenched his jaw on the other side, but before he could order Alpha, he stopped when he saw Eve pull out something and stretch towards the camera intentionally showing them all.
"I'm guessing you bastards already know what this is. VenomX." Eve continued to glare at the camera as he held the bottle of VenomX. Eve leaned closer to Alpha, his voice echoing through the camera's audio feed. "Listen carefully, you one-eye-blind bastard. Release the paralyse hold on his brain or I will make him drink this poison, and he will be dead within seconds."
Antonio's patience was wearing thin, he intently glared at the screen, his knuckles turning white. "Who are you?" He demanded.
Eve remained silent as he looked back at Alpha whose robotic demeanour was temporally shattered due to Eve's beatings. He stepped closer to Alpha and smirked back at the cameras.
He suddenly laughed darkly, it's as if his lifeless eyes were piercing directly into Antonio's one eye. "How's the scar on your face doing, Antonio? I cut it pretty deep last time. Can you still see from one eye after I poke out your other?"
Antonio's face contorted with disbelief, and he abruptly left his chair, backing away from the screen in shock.
"This...this bastard is still alive?" He mumbled to himself.
"What are you waiting for uncle? Kill him, he doesn't have the guts to kill Alpha. He would be killed as well so he won't dare." Nick, sensing Antonio's sudden unease suggested.
But Antonio was a different story. Cold sweat formed on his forehead. He shook his head. "No! He's not bluffing. He does not care whether he lives or dies. He will kill Alpha if he says so."
"Release him."
"What?!" Nick questions in disbelief. "But uncle-"
"I said release him, Nick. And command all the left targets to attack them until their mission is complete. Do not allow them to stop," he commanded.
Meanwhile, Alpha falls in Eve's arms as he winces in pain and breathes heavily. His entire body was in severe pain and confusion. He looked up at Eve through his heavy lids, his eyes turning back to life.
"W-Whats…happening?" he asked, clutching his head. Eve smiled seeing him back.
"I don't have time to explain. We need to run," He helped Alpha to get up, pulling him away from the encroaching group that was coming for their lives.
The chase was on as the yellow batch holders pursued the fleeing duo, their expressions blank and ghostly.
Eve and Alpha sprinted tirelessly until they reached the rooftop, the rain attacking them down as well. Desperation drove Eve to open the entrance to the rooftop and without hesitation, he pushed Alpha inside while he tried to shut the door and block the yellow batch holder.
But he knew he could not hold for too long, they would eventually break in and there was no place to run from the roof.
"Go and hide somewhere!" he yelled to Alpha but Alpha didn't move. He angrily yelled again. "Fucking hell! I'll try to stop them! Go and hide yourself, they won't stop if they keep seeing you."
The rain, which had turned into a violent downpour, blocked their view, and the rooftop had become a chaotic, shadowy expanse. But after a while Eve didn't see Alpha.
The banging on the door increased. Eve noticed a peculiar noise coming from the door and knew it was the electronic lock. The door was creaking open slowly and his strength was giving out as well.
He realised he had just a few moments to act. He looked around and noticed a nearby bulb which wasn't working properly, probably due to the rain.
He yanked the door open and, as a last resort, ripped a wire off the bulb. He flung the wire into a little pool of water that had gathered in front of the entrance, creating a short circuit.
The electronic mechanics of the door flared and fizzled, making it useless. The persistent yellow batch holders, who were now trying to enter, were briefly halted as some of them got electroshocked. But it was at the entrance, so none of them could enter.
Seeing that they were unable to enter, Eve decided to look out for Alpha.
On the rain-soaked rooftop, Eve approached Alpha, his heart pounding in fear and concern. And with what he found was a sight that filled him with dread.
Alpha stood precariously on the small wall, his balance teetering on the edge of danger and almost falling with a slight wrong movement. The storm raged around them, the rain making everything slick and treacherous.
"W-Will…" Eve's world stopped, his heartbeats stopped, and his nerves suffered a breakdown. He watched as Alpha stood on the roof wall that was the highest of the building. "Ba..baby, what are you doing? C-Come down…okay."
His voice trembled as he pleaded. He was turning crazy because one misstep on the slippery rooftop could be catastrophic.
But Alpha stared at him for a long moment, his gaze empty and haunted. There was a painful silence as the rain continued to pour, hiding the tears that were streaming down from Alpha's eyes.
With a choked voice, he finally spoke. "My whole body hurts. I don't remember...I don't understand what's all this happening to me."
Eve was at a loss for words. He was scared to death. "Will…come down." He begged again, his own heart crying in agony and sadness, only to be eclipsed by the wrong that Alpha would fall.
"You lied!" Alpha yelled. "You told me Lia is dead. You lied about everything!"
Eve was stunned. His heart threatened to come out of his throat.
"I can't take it anymore. It's better if I just end everything…"
Eve's breath caught in his throat. The storm matched the tempest of emotions raging in him. He shook his head crazily, extending his hand. "Please, baby! Don't do anything stupid. Just come down to me. I promise I won't lie about anything anymore. I'll tell you everything, the truth. Just come back to me safely. WILL, FUCKING COME DOWN!"
He cried desperately, his heart aching with desperation and fear. The rain continued to pour from the dark sky, and Alpha wondered whether he should believe him or not because he was serious about jumping off and putting an end to all of this.
When he didn't make a move to come down Eve continued in a trembling voice. "How could…how could you do this to me…again?!" Eve yelled at the top of his lungs. "How could you think about leaving me again?" How?!"
He kept shaking his head. "I will tell you everything! Who are you? Who am I?! Everything! Just don't hurt yourself, please, or else I don't know what I would do. I'd...I'd burn down everything for you...again!"
Alpha finally seemed to listen to his plea.
"T-Then tell me." he let out in a shaky voice.
Eve blinked profusely. "I will! Promise!" He nodded, crying badly, he extended his hand further and sighed in relief when finally Alpha grabbed it.
He pulled Alpha down and immediately squeezed him in a never-ending hug. Hugging him closely, he kissed Alpha's face repeatedly before looking at him.
"You are not the so-called strong and dangerous Alpha! You're my lost and innocent Will. You're not their leader, you're my pure big boy who only ever wanted me to hide you in my arms after we met. You're my world, you're my love that I failed to protect. That's who you are."
Eve leaned in, pressing a gentle, painful kiss on his lips. "Today, I will tell you everything. I'll tell you everything you want to hear. Lia is not dead."
Alpha's eyes widened as his heart raced like a bullet train. "Then where is L-Lia?"
Eve didn't answer, making Alpha confused. And even more confused when he reached out and touched his eyes before removing his contact lens, revealing dark brown eyes in place of the sapphire ones.
"You need to fall into past's grip once again to remember your memories, to remember your…Lia."
He whispered but it seemed Alpha was already on the way to the past as he found himself looking at the one person whom he loved so much and the only person who loved him back.
Eve took Alpha's hand and rested it on his own chest. "Here is your Lia."
"You are…L-Lia."
As his unconscious body fell into Eve's arms, the truth began to unfold, like pages of a story he had long forgotten.
