Chapter 72

"You want...me?" 

Lia asked hopefully with his heart hammering against his ribs, and his brain screaming for him to stop being so giddy. Alpha gazed at him and nodded slowly, looking more like a puppy than a beast right now.

Lia couldn't hold himself back anymore either, his mind was yelling for him to just kiss Alpha. He was getting impatient. "Do you even know what I'm saying?"

And to answer him, the big wolf in his lap decided to ignore him simply and keep on playing with Lia's fingers. He seemed to be more fascinated by them than the owner itself. 

"Can you speak, please? I'm dying to hear your voice again," Lia begged and snatched his hand away, making a mistake because that offended the beast. 

However, Alpha wasn't angry but rather curious. He tried to catch Lia's hand again to play with it, but Lia was quick to pull his hand further again, feeling amazed and enjoying teasing the poor thing.

"I won't give it to you unless you speak to me," Lia smirked and leaned forward, putting his face closer to Alpha's frowning one. Lia smiled at his wide frustrated eyes and the sulking pout. "Should I give it to you?" 

Alpha nodded eagerly, like an overly excited puppy. Lia carefully brushed the boy's hair from his face and brought him down so that his head was resting on Lia's neck. "Try to relax. You're too hyper, babe."

He ran his fingers through Alpha's soft hair, massaging his scalp while brushing the stubborn tangles away. Lia felt an uncontrollable desire to kiss his forehead. He wanted to hug and touch him as much as he wanted, and he felt extremely happy that Alpha was letting him do it. He doesn't pry away or be scared away from him anymore. 

"Do you feel better now?" Lia asked while stroking his finger through the hair. "I will hug you whenever they scare you again, alright?" 

Alpha sighed in content, his arms around Lia's torso. He didn't know what this new thing Lia was doing to his head but he really liked it. It made him feel so...safe and calm. 

Lia smiled upon hearing the contented sigh. His heart melted a bit more in his chest. He ran his fingers through Alpha's hair, from the top to the back, and the back to the front. He did this repeatedly, letting the boy enjoy the feeling of his fingers. And he enjoyed the feeling of doing it as well, to hold his boy so near, so dearly close to his heart. 

He didn't want to stop touching his hair. It was so smooth, soft, and a bit tangled. The moment was too perfect. Lia felt so warm and fuzzy inside. But of course, it was the first time that the beast didn't try to push him away. And the fact that he was letting only him touch him was the most precious feeling for Lia. 

"Do you like it?" He asked softly, while his eyes remained fixated on the beast in his lap and surprisingly Alpha hummed. 

Lia grinned, his eyes crinkled. So much has happened in his life, so many things have changed within him and with his behaviour, so many things have gone wrong, but nothing felt more exhilarating than this, and more right. 

Going against his thoughts, he kissed his boy's forehead softly. It was really a proud feeling for making Alpha feel better. He liked this moment and feeling so much that his cheeks reddened, a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. If only they weren't sitting in this filthy and dangerous place but somewhere in a safe and warm place.

He felt Alpha stiffening in his arms and then the beast looked up at him.

Lia frowned in confusion, wondering what happened to make Alpha uncomfortable all of a sudden. But he didn't get much time to think when the beast unexpectedly leaned forward and pressed his lips against Lia's.

Lia froze, his heart stopped beating, his mind was completely blank and his whole body froze. Stunned would be the best word to describe him. He was shocked and also confused, he didn't know what to do or how to react. His hands fell at his sides and stared blankly at the boy whose lips were currently pressed against his.

It took him a few minutes to release the breath that he was holding. But by that time, Alpha had pulled back and was staring at his face, as if waiting for his reaction.

Lia licked his dry lips, his brain desperately trying to recover. "Wh-Why did you—ahem?!"

Alpha didn't seem to understand what was wrong. He examined Lia with those big and innocent eyes. Lia gulped down his surprise, but his heart was still beating like crazy. His hand moved on its own, slowly reaching for Alpha's face, fingers trembling. But Alpha shoved his hand away, groaning in annoyance. 

Lia blinked a few times, gasping in disbelief and pinching Alpha's cheeks. "Are you serious? Pushing me away after boldly stealing a kiss! What are you? A playboy?" He got a glare in return and an angry grumbling which he found cute and funny. "Alright, you brat! I didn't even say anything wrong. Why are you mad about it? You kissed me then got angry by yourself." 

But what could be the reason for this sudden kiss? Was it just a spontaneous act? Or he just did it because he felt like doing it? 

Or was it a thank you for helping him? But how does he even know how to kiss or what even a kiss is? That was the biggest question for Lia. 

Lia caressed the cheeks he just squeezed, the boy calmed down at his touch. Nah, this fool doesn't seem to have an idea of what he was doing. 

He was still in disbelief that such a place like this really existed in this world. Sure, he has heard many stories that were hard to believe or connect to reality. But the scary part was how true those rumors or news could be, and even more frightening that it happened so close to us, yet we failed to see through them. 

He himself has done many things that a normal person wouldn't even dare to imagine. Killing, drug dealing, money laundering, and whatnot. He had done it all, but this was first.

There was no suspicion in his mind that this place was a hell hole, and seeing the people here and their condition, the way they behaved, all dangerous and authoritative. It gives him a shuddering shiver. It could mess with anyone's mind until they left completely crazy or dead. 

And Alpha was the living proof of how a human's mental strength could influence his or her physical condition. Lia did not doubt that every one of these people was just like him, a criminal or a murderer.

Labs, experiments, human weapons, literally a place for the devil's work. He wanted to find out everything about this place, including the people. Especially this boy. Lia wished to know more about him and why he was so special to Wagnar. Why does it have to be him and not anyone else?

"Please look at me," He had never pleaded or begged anyone to this extent in his whole life, and never tolerated tantrums but whenever his gaze landed on his boy, he was ready to let his big puppy walk all over him, ready to accept all his cute sulkings, ready to pierce his chest and plucked out his heart to offer Alpha. He believes his heart would be better if it stayed with his adorable Alpha. 

But Alpha didn't move an inch to look at him, instead wrapped his legs around Lia's waist to push himself closer. 

"What's wrong? Are you hurt anywhere? Did they harm you anywhere?" Lia inquired in the most delicate voice ever. Alpha's face was still twisted in pain. "What happened now? I'm letting you do whatever you want, you even kissed me without my permission. You know this was my first kiss. I hate kisses, and now that you took my first kiss you're still sulking and pushing me away."

Lia expected him to respond somehow but Alpha did not. It made Lia slightly upset to see that no matter how much he talks, the latter does not appear to understand him.

But it is alright; it was not Alpha's fault. Though it made him angry at the people who had caused him so much misery. He wished he could go back in time and kill everyone involved in turning him like this. 

"Al--No. What kind of name is Alpha? I don't like it. It's weird," Lia whined. "Do you even like the name or you're forced to accept it? If it's the latter, then you should change it. I will think of a better name for you. Umm...You are like a monster in their eyes but to me, you look like a big puppy. So, how about Pup? Does it sound good to you?"

His question was met with a frown. "Or not. What about Wolfy, then?" Another frown, it made Lia laugh. Finally showing his emotions. 

"Fine, then what about Oddy? Lucifer? Do you like Lucifer? Or is it too much? Pick one you like and then we will call you that and get rid of this stupid name. How does that sound? Oh yeah! What about Willuf?" 

Alpha shook his head profusely with a snarl. He definitely hated that name.

With an amused giggle, he sat back against the wall, his head resting on it. He chuckled cheekily and spread his legs to reposition Alpha in his lap so they could sit more comfortably. His hands wrapped over Alpha's back and hugged him to his chest. Their eyes were locked together, and Lia was grinning like a maniac while loving the sensation of holding his boy.

"Oh, you absolutely hate this name. So from now on I will only call you Willuf," He smirked, eyes dripping with evilness. Alpha began to throw a temper by shaking his head more furiously, groaning, and huffing angrily. 

Lia laughed playfully when he saw Alpha trying to get out of his embrace, he even tried to bite Lia's fingers and loosen hands around him to get rid of them. "You're not going anywhere, babe. You can't escape from me, baby Willuf!"

He hugged him tighter when Alpha growled at him, clearly pissed. "What? Do you think I'm afraid of you? I'm not, darling,"

Alpha glared at Lia, a ferocious madness was shot in his direction. But the strange human's smile stopped his sulking. It made Lia look so innocent and childlike that it made Alpha stare in wonder. For him, his strange human behaviour is very odd sometimes but it doesn't bother him as much as it used to. 

He has become very tolerant of his strange human even though he looks foolish. 

"Let's take you to the bath now," Lia fondled his dirty cheeks lovingly.

"No!" When he couldn't get out of Lia's tight hold, he grumbled and rested his face on Lia's shoulder while letting out a tired sigh. He subconsciously closed his eyes when he felt his head being patted again. Feeling comfortable, he melted in that warm embrace.

"Ah..now you decided to speak," It was really entertaining for him to see the boy letting out his unharmed anger. 

With a satisfied sigh, Alpha relaxed into Lia's comforting arms. The sound of the beast sighing with satisfaction made Lia's pulse skip a beat. While Lia gave him the most gentle of strokes, the boy had his eyes closed and his head buried in Lia's shoulder.

Lia was astounded by how Alpha's actions and every tiny thing he did could make his heart hurt and make him want to burst with joy.

"You don't want to? Too bad, you're going to wash up now. Come on, my Willuf," Lia declared tenderly but firmly. 

He tried to get free of his grip, but Lia wouldn't let him. No matter how hard he twisted and roared, he couldn't get out of Lia's clutches this time. He stood up with a wriggling beast in his arms. "Oh, you're quite heavy," He made his way to the bathroom, his hand supporting Alpha's bum while the latter was still struggling in his arms. "Stay still or you'll fall."

"No....don't wanna!" He struggled and growled louder. 

"Hey, seriously you'll fall," Lia snorted. He stopped at the bathroom door and set Alpha on the ground. The moment Alpha touched the wet floor he whined in fear, grabbing Lia's arm he sank his teeth into it to punish him. 

"Ah!" Lia exclaimed, his hand flew to his injured arm. "You little shit!" He glared but his eyes softened when he saw how Alpha was shaking. 

Alpha jumped back as Lia neared him again, but he did not try to flee. His heart began to ache, and it was hilarious how much he already knew about this guy that he could tell from a single glance that he was terrified of taking a bath. But why? 

Lia frowned when he saw Alpha's big and round eyes staring back at him in fear, his heart pained even more. Starting the shower, he sighed. "See, it's just water. Why are you scared--fuck!" He quickly pulled his hand back when his fingers touched the cold icy water. "Shit, this water is freezing!"

He shivered, though his fingers merely touched the water. He figured out why Alpha was resisting going in the water. Obviously, nobody wants to shower in ice in December. It would freeze their bones.

So he wasn't scared of the bath but the cold water. They really treated him like a real animal. Lia wondered whether they had ever provided him with warm water for his bath.

He extended his hand as an immense wave of love washed over him for this guy. How dare they treat someone so beautiful, so innocent, and so precious like a real animal. He couldn't even imagine how much pain he had endured to stay alive this long. It made his chest tightened in the worst of ways. He knew he would have gone insane if he had been put here.

"Come," With warm and twinkling eyes, he softly coaxed. Alpha blinked his exquisite silver brown eyes between the offered hand and Lia's smiling face. He forgot for a while that he was here to bathe and just stared at his strange human, unable to resist that beautiful smile and taking the hand.

Lia didn't waste any time and pulled him against him, their bodies colliding closely. Rubbing his back up and down he tried to comfort and soothe his fear. Alpha's face was now hidden in the crook of Lia's neck playing with the collar of Lia's jacket.

Lia adored the feeling of how perfectly the boy's body fits in his arms. He kissed the top of Alpha's forehead. "I know it's cold and I couldn't probably understand your pain because I don't know what happened to you, but you should know that you're safe now. And I'm going to keep you safe no matter what."

Alpha didn't look up at him but his lips curled in the slightest way. Amazed by the way Lia's Adam's apple was bobbing whenever he talked, he poked it with his finger. It was a fun game. 

"I'll share your every pain from now on," Lia promised while fondling the firm waist. "Even if it's the most trivial things, even your simplest needs, I will take care of you. Okay? I will protect you."

He then pushed Alpha's chin up to meet their eyes, their faces were now only inches apart, cupping his cheeks. He looked at Alpha with delicate eyes while the other did the same. "Okay, baby?"

Alpha nodded after a while as though the fool understood everything his strange human promised him.

"Take off your clothes now." 

Lia tried again and prayed. To his luck, Alpha didn't argue this time and stood straight though Lia could feel his tiny tremble. Lia helped him take off his clothes, his eyes scanning his naked body. He slapped his face and groaned dramatically. "It's illegal to have a body like this. You will give me a nosebleed today."

He suddenly felt hot in his own clothes when Alpha kept looking at him. His cheeks burn crazily, his body feels hot, and losing his sanity. "You should..take your underwear off as well. I don't think we have any extra pairs of clothes. We can't get any of your clothes wet." It was a genuine concern, but it came out more in a perverted tone. 

His voice was drowned in his throat when he saw Alpha pulling down his underwear without telling him twice and his dick flopped out of it. Alpha innocently extended it towards him. 

"N-no! Don't give me just put it with the rest of your clothes," He cleared his throat many times. 

He was about to say something when his words were stuck in his throat when he saw Alpha's cock. He quickly looked up at Alpha's face to see if he was being judged for being a pervert but all he saw was a raised brow.

Shaking his head, he began to take off his own clothes. Standing stark naked he switches on the shower. "I will bathe with you. That way you won't be scared. I know it's cold but bear with me--Huh?" His rambling stopped when he found Alpha's intense gaze fixed at him, or more like his lower region. 

"I-I…D-Don't—You can't..shouldn't…Damnit!" His red face was on the verge of explosion when he realised what the boy was staring at. His mouth went dry and his dick got harder. 

"Stop looking at it like that!" He finally managed to choke out the words. 

Alpha blinked his eyes, guessing what he even did to be shouted like that.
