You have paced around the cell at least 3,000 times. It was incredibly boring. And yes that number is correct.
Suddenly, you hear a door open and small close. Thor stands there with his hammer.
"Hey! I want you to try something." He says with a smile.
You just keep pacing.
3,001
3,002
3,003
"You will be let out for a little bit." He muttered.
You stop mid step and look at him.
"For real?" You ask. t wouldn't be the first time that you had been lied to.
"Yes, for real."
He walks over to your cell and stares into your eyes.
"So, will you do it?"
You nod and he opens the cell door. The time in which the door opens and you are out is not able to be counted. Thor smiles and starts to laugh.
"I take it you like it in there."
You roll your eyes and give him a death glare.
"What gave that away?" You say as snarky as you can.
Thor just smiles and beckons for you to follow him. You had never seen anywhere outside of the cell and the top floor.
Stairs. That was pretty much it. Well stairs and hallways that lead to who knows where. Maybe sometime you would find out where they went.
You reached the floor that you had originally been on. Inside are Tony, Natasha, Loki, and a couple of other people that you had never seen before. One of them looked like a doctor but a little more tired. Another one looked like he had taken several punches to the face and had a bow with its matching quiver, filled with arrows of course, sitting on the floor next to him. An odd looking man with purple skin was sitting next to a woman with brown hair.
They all looked up as you and Thor entered the room.
"Hello, I assume that you are the girl who" The purple man started to say before he was interrupted.
"Can it, Vision. We have better things to do." Tony yelled.
You smile. It was always funny to see Tony get worked up even if you had only seen it a couple times.
"So umm what am I doing?" You ask nervously.
Thor smiled, which you have realized that he does that a lot.
"You are going to pick up this hammer."
You laugh.
"Wow that seems so hard."
This time it's Tony that laughs.
"Just try and then tell us how hard it is."
You smirk and glance at the hammer that Thor has placed on the table.
All you have to take is a step over to the table and you are right in front of it. Your hand reaches out and wrap your hand around the handle of the hammer.
Something rushes over you. It was different than the first time you had felt magic. This was warmer and friendlier. The other time had been cold and like it had ripped something away for you.
You smile as the hammer lifts from the table.
"Easy." You say as you hold the hammer above your head.
All around you people look completely shocked. Tony has the biggest eyes you have ever seen in your life and is smiling brightly. Loki stands up and walks over to you.
"How?" He asks.
"Umm what do you mean?" You ask back.
"Set down the hammer and I will show you."
You set the hammer down and like it had at first, whatever rushed over you leaves with a warm feeling.
Loki reaches over and attempts to pick the hammer up. It stays, glued to the spot.
He gestures to Tony to try. Tony does and the same thing happens. The rest of the people in the room follow suit, except for Thor and the purple dude.
"Now do you see what I mean?" Loki asked.
You nod.
Something was definitely off about that hammer. Why could you of all people be able to pick it up.
Suddenly the purple dude stood up.
"Can I try?" He asked.
"Knock yourself out, Vision." Thor said.
The purple man, or Vision, reached over to the hammer. His hand wrapped around it with such unsureness it was almost funny. With the same ease that you had, he picked it up.
"Cool! We are like what you Midgardians call the Three Musketeers." Thor said, smiling once more.
You and Vision glanced at each other.
"Umm sure." He said.
You still where completely confused.
"Wait why does it matter that I can pick this hammer up?" You ask.
Loki smiles at you.
"Well this was a test." He starts.
"A test to see if we could trust you." Tony continues.
"And?" You ask.
"And you passed." Thor said. "Passed with flying colors."
"I'm still confused. How does picking up a hammer have anything to do with me being trustworthy?" You ask.
"That's where this gets complicated." Loki says.
"Oh just cut it out! If you pick up the hammer it means you are worthy or in our case, trustworthy." Natasha yells.
"So what are you saying?" You ask.
"What we are saying is" Tony starts.
"You, (Y/N), are worthy of being free and joining the Avengers." Loki finishes.
