Chapter 6: Power, Politics, and a Kiss.

"As you wish, Your Majesty," Selene replied calmly, bowing slightly before vanishing in a flash of white runes.

Once she disappeared, the atmosphere in the room shifted. My mother's regal demeanor melted away, replaced by the gentle warmth I had grown used to. She leaned forward, stroking my hair softly, her lips curving into a tender smile.

"Yes, my dear. Mama is the Queen of Dragons, ruler of the entire Dragon continent," she said, kissing my cheek. "Mama is very powerful, you know?"

"Powerful? How much?" I asked, tilting my head. I was more curious about the power hierarchy of this world and the realms involved.

Instead of giving me a simple answer, she pulled me onto her lap and faced me, as if settling in for a long story.

"When you awaken your magic core, you connect with record of soul and begin at Rank 1," she began, gently brushing my hair behind my ears. "You then climb through the ranks—Rank 2, Rank 3, and so on—until you reach Rank 9. That's the final stage of the mortal realm. After that, you transcend mortality and step into the Immortal Realms."

I nodded, my mind already visualizing the progression. She continued:

"Beyond Rank 9 lies the primordial Rank, then transdecent Rank, then Eternal Rank, and finally... the infinity Rank. Between them, there are transitional stages—Half-primordial, Half-transdecent, and Half-eternal—but there's no such thing as a Half-infinity. Reaching infinity Rank transforms your body, soul, and spirit. It is a complete metamorphosis. A Supreme Being standing at the pinnacle of the world's power."

Her voice lowered slightly, growing more serious.

"There are fewer than fifteen infinity across the entire world. The vampire race has there Queen Lilith tepes, with 5 vampire clan serving under her who all are headed by a Eternal.

I blinked.

"The Demons have Lucifer," she continued with a slight frown. "She's a good friend of mine—or rather, was. She's also the laziest person I know. A total shut-in. I banned that woman from visiting recently. She'd just mess around and distract me from spending time with you."

I chuckled. A infinity rank shut-in named Lucifer? Sounds like a NEET anime character.

"She lets her Seven Overlords manage everything: Wrath, Sloth, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Envy, and Pride. Each of them is a peak Eternal Rank and the most 'perfect' representative of their sin. The Demon Continent also controls the Nine Floors of Hell, while the Devils control the 666 Floors of the Abyss."

"Wait… devils?" I asked.

"Devils are different from demons," she clarified. "They're contractual beings—like the witches. You can bargain with them to explore the abyss or gain power, but they always demand a price. Each floor has a Floor Lord, and the deeper you go, the stronger they are. The Devil of the 666th Floor and the Demon of the Ninth Hell are both at peak Eternal Rank. They rarely involve themselves in worldly affairs."

"And Lucifer?"

"She lives in a palace suspended between the deepest floor of hell and the lowest abyss. Like I said—biggest NEET I've ever met."

I stifled a laugh but stayed focused.

"The Angel Continent has Heavenly Father as its infinity rank," she continued, rolling her eyes slightly. "Nine Angel Kings serve him. They are the arch-enemies of demons and don't allow the use of darkness, death, or destruction magic."

She paused for breath before continuing:

"The Dragon Continent, has two infinity. Dragon empress zaldara and Dragon empress Mayvelin.Me."

She looked me directly in the eyes, her tone firm and pleasing.

"Four noble clans serve under me: Draig, the scorch dragon clan, Albion, the frost dragon clan, Hydra, the poison dragon clan and kiyohime, the nature dragon clan. And above them all, is Clan Nova—our clan. It used to be just me and your sister. Now, you're the third member: Melicas Nova."

I was stunned. So I was royalty—no, nobility—no… the son of the Dragon Queen herself?

She was about to continue when her eyes flicked toward something across the room. Reaching over, she picked up a sleek silver tablet—eerily similar to an iPad.

"Alright, dear," she smiled warmly again, "which movie do you want to see? You can pick from this list."

The interface looked like something straight out of Earth's streaming services. There were thumbnails, genres, and descriptions. All the available movies were clearly meant for children. Still, I picked a romance one… for research, of course.

She tapped the screen a few times. The room dimmed. The blank wall in front of our bed shimmered, becoming a high-definition screen. I gawked.

Magical projection technology? 8K resolution? This world is insane.

The film started—a generic story about a lonely boy who finds friends and a girlfriend. Heartwarming, sure, but cliché. I feigned excitement like a good little boy.

But then, the best part arrived: the kiss scene.

I turned to my mother with a puzzled expression. "Mama… what are they doing?"

She chuckled, ruffling my hair. "They're kissing, sweetheart. It's what lovers do."

"Lovers?" I tilted my head.

"Yes. When two people love each other very much, they're called lovers."

I paused, blinked at her with innocent eyes, and then smiled brightly. "Mama, kiss!"

She looked at me, amused, before leaning forward and planting a soft kiss on my lips. I smiled like a fool.

"Want one more?" she asked, giggling.

I nodded enthusiastically, and she kissed me again—this time, longer and warmer.

Snuggling into her chest, I felt sleep begin to take me. I instinctively latched onto her again, drinking slowly from her warm milk as the sound of the movie faded into the background.

Moments later, I was fast asleep.

Mayvelin looked down at my peaceful face, brushing my silver hair with her fingers. Few things in this world brought her joy like holding her son in her arms.

With a contented sigh, she kissed his forehead, whispered something a mother should not, and pulled the blanket over us both.
