"I can see the way he looks at you. It's ibn his eyes," she speculated. 

"Hmm, what can I say, Iris. I counted my losses as my gains and cut ties with him. Sadly some people do not know how to stay away."

"He spoke to you today?" Iris asked, her eyes gleaming with mischief as she pulled Kiera by the hand and waved at Carlos.

"Have fun without me," she informed him as they left.

Carlos reached out, trying his best to catch Iris before she slipped away into the night but she was fast and determined to escape.

Carlos inhaled deeply, his brain calming itself down before his emotions got the best of him. 'Sigh, I must be a burden to her then.' He mused inwardly and dropped his hand.

"Time to socialize, hmm?" Even as he did so, the only mental picture in his mind right now was Iris in her stunning cream-coloured open-back gown that hugged her every curve, making her a delight in the eyes of her beholder.
