Chapter 5

It's truly ironic, and quite laughable.

The next day, I was pulling my suitcase, with Serenity and Harmony in tow, ready to leave.

As we approached the entrance of the mansion, the main door suddenly swung open.

Vivienne walked in, accompanied by Fintan and Faye.

The air instantly froze.

A flicker of panic flashed across Vivienne's face, as if caught red-handed.

I understood immediately; she was afraid I would expose her.

Fintan, with a look of surprise, asked confusedly:

"Assistant Stratton, what are you doing here?"

Vivienne hurriedly stepped aside, blocking me from view, and explained to Fintan with a smile:

"Assistant Stratton is actually a distant relative of mine. Her lease recently expired, so he's been staying here for a few days..."

"Oh, I see!" Fintan feigned a look of sudden realization.

Watching her eagerness to disassociate herself from me, my heart was filled with endless sorrow.
