Chapter 5

Before Melody could finish, Zoran bolted out like a madman, resembling a lion that had lost all reason.

With a reckless disregard for safety, he sped through the streets, flooring the gas pedal until he finally reached the shoreline.

The beach had already been cordoned off with police tape.

But Zoran ignored all barriers, frantically rushing to the body's side and clutching it tightly in his arms.

Tears were streaming down his face.

"Zara, I won't allow it, I won't! Wake up right now!"

A nearby officer sighed, then tried to reason with Zoran.

"Sir, the deceased has passed on. Please show some respect and allow us to quickly uncover the truth behind this case."

But as soon as the words left his mouth, Zoran shoved the officers away and roared at them.

"She's not deceased, she's my lover! She's not dead yet, I won't let you talk like that!"

Seeing that persuasion was futile, the police resorted to force, prying Zoran's fingers away one by one.
