Chapter 17: The Bastille Break In!

As the trio sped towards the Prismal

Flux Core District, tension filled the air. The fate of the city

depended on their next move. Rin, sitting in the back of Kyrin's

Eclipse Revenant, furiously worked on hacking into the enemy's network

using the source code they

had extracted from the Prismlitwoods Caverns. His fingers danced

across the holographic keyboard of his ShadowLink Nexus, but after several failed

attempts, frustration crept in.

"Ahhh! I can't

hack this network for some reason," Rin groaned, slamming his fist lightly

against the armrest.

Kyrin, keeping his

eyes on the road, glanced at Rin through the rearview mirror and smirked.

"Rin, open that suitcase over there," he instructed.

Curious and

slightly annoyed, Rin flipped open the high-security Prismal Flux case beside him. As soon as he saw what was

inside, his eyes widened in shock. "No way… a Neon

Mirage Tactical PC?!" he exclaimed. The Neon

Mirage Tactical PC was

an elite hacking device, equipped with an advanced Quantum Prismal Flux

Nexus Core, real-time decryption algorithms, and a neural interface that

connected directly to the user's instincts.

Kyrin grinned.

"Yeah, that's for you. We need a professional hacker like you to

infiltrate their network properly. This is your moment, Rin."

Without wasting

another second, Rin carefully lifted the sleek, black

and neon-rimmed laptop onto

his lap. As he powered it up, the Prismal Flux processors hummed with energy,

and the adaptive security bypass system initialized. He cracked his knuckles

and smirked. "Alright, let's see what these guys are hiding."

Within moments, a holographic

interface materialized,

displaying streams of encrypted data and multiple security barriers protecting

the Segrito network. Rin's new tactical PC made quick work of the initial

firewalls, slicing through the defenses like a hot knife through butter. As he

navigated the Quantum Grid, something caught his eye—a

cluster of real-time enemy signals. His fingers

moved even faster as he decrypted the final layer of protection and accessed Segrito's

internal communications.

"Boom! Got

it!" Rin shouted; his voice laced with excitement. "Kyrin, there are 47

Segrito assassins stationed

in the district. They're equipped with banned experimental gear, and they're

waiting for a signal to launch their attack."

Senjuro leaned in,

his expression serious. "That means we don't have much time. If they move

before we do, the entire city's power grid could be compromised."

Rin nodded.

"It's better if you launch your Escort Unit now and capture them before they can

act."

Kyrin's expression

darkened with determination. "Good idea."

Reaching for his Cipher

XQ Tactical Communicator, Kyrin activated the Eclipse

Phantom Division, his personal S-rank escort unit, through a secured

channel. A deep, modulated voice responded immediately.

"Eclipse Phantom Division, online. Orders?"

"Deploy

immediately to the Prismal Flux Core District," Kyrin

commanded. "We have 47 hostile Segrito assassins in the area, heavily armed with

illegal tech. Objective: Capture them alive if possible.

Execute on sight if necessary."

"Acknowledged. Moving in."

Within seconds,

the Eclipse Phantom Division mobilized. Their Eclipse

Revenant Combat Vehicles and Shadow

Veil Stratum Infiltrators engaged

their Quantum Prismal Flux cloaking systems, vanishing into

the night as they moved at hyperspeed.

Rin watched the

tactical map on his Neon Mirage Tactical PC, seeing blue

markers representing Kyrin's unit rapidly closing in on the red enemy signals.

He let out a low whistle. "Damn… your team is fast."

Kyrin smirked.

"They don't mess around."

Senjuro crossed

his arms. "Still, we can't just sit here. If something goes wrong, we need

to be ready to back them up."

Kyrin nodded.

"Agreed. We're heading in."

With that, he accelerated the Eclipse Revenant, its Prismal

Flux engine roaring to life as

they sped towards the Prismal Flux Core District, ready to

join the fight.

The team raced through the neon-lit streets of Quantum

Bay, their vehicles weaving through the towering structures of the Prismal

Flux Core District. The district had fallen into their control, with

the Quantum Police Division (QPD) and Spectral Vigilance Tactical Unit (SVTU) securing the area. Kyrin, watching

from the command interface inside the Eclipse Revenant, nodded in approval.

"Great job, team!" he commended, but before they could celebrate, his Cipher-Link

Nexus buzzed urgently. A

priority transmission from Oblivion Bastille came through, and a distressed guard's

voice crackled over the encrypted channel.

"Sir, there's a break-in at the Bastille! Multiple Segrito

units are raiding the facility—we're under heavy assault! Their objective is

clear: they're here to break out Dr. Kaelon Heshira and Crix Heshira. We need

immediate reinforcements!"

Before Kyrin could

respond, the call abruptly cut off. A sharp static noise followed, signalling

that the Bastille's comms system had likely been compromised.

The weight of the situation was immediate. If Kaelon Heshira and Crix Heshira were

freed, Quantum Bay would be thrown into chaos.

Kyrin clenched his

fists and turned to his Elite Phantom Division (EPD), his S-rank

assassins. His voice carried the urgency of a battlefield commander.

"EPD, shift to Oblivion Bastille immediately! There's a

raid in progress. We cannot allow those criminals to escape!"

Without

hesitation, the Escort Unit switched course, their vehicles

surging through the city at breakneck speed. Inside the Reaver,

Senjuro and Rin sat beside Kyrin, analyzing the situation.

Senjuro, his

analytical mind racing, asked, "How did Segrito plan this so perfectly? They

couldn't have executed this without inside intel."

Kyrin exhaled

sharply before responding. "This was never just about sabotaging the Prismal

Flux Core District. That mission was a diversion. The assassins we captured in

the Prismlitwoods Shrine weren't just sent there to wreak havoc—they were bait.

The real operation was always at Oblivion Bastille."

Rin's eyes widened

as he put the pieces together. "Damn it… That means while we were dealing with

the false attack, Segrito's real forces had already infiltrated the Bastille."

Kyrin nodded. "Exactly.

We were lured away while their elite units stormed the most secure prison in

Quantum Bay. If we don't stop them now, the consequences will be catastrophic."

Rin, ever the

action-first type, tightened his grip on his FluxFire MK-II and grinned. "We

ain't wastin' time then. Let's zoom and shut this whole operation down."

As the Eclipse Revenant neared Oblivion

Bastille, the scene ahead was pure mayhem. Explosions illuminated the dark

sky, and the once-impenetrable walls of the prison had been breached in multiple locations. Segrito's

forces—dressed in quantum-tinted combat armor—were engaged

in a brutal firefight with the QPD, SVTU, and the SE-9 Strike Unit.

Kyrin activated

his Neon Mirage Tactical HUD, scanning the battlefield. Segrito

had deployed over 100 elite operatives, all equipped with highly illegal

weaponry. Among them

were specialized Saboteurs, armed with Prismal

Flux Disruptors, attempting to disable the Bastille's power grid.

"They're targeting the Bastille's Quantum Barrier System," Senjuro observed. "If they take that offline, Kaelon and Crix will

be out in minutes."

Kyrin's voice was

firm. "Not on my watch. We take them out now."

He opened a

channel to his Escort Unit.

"Priority targets: Segrito Saboteurs. Eliminate them before

they breach the security network."

The EPD moved with terrifying precision,

engaging Segrito's operatives with their customized Prismal Flux weaponryEnergy

rounds sliced through

the battlefield as Kyrin led the charge.

Kyrin, Senjuro, and Rin

dismounted from the Reaver, engaging enemies with deadly

efficiency.

Kyrin wielded his Shadow

Reaver-XQ, moving with inhuman speed as he gunned down Segrito operatives

with Prismal Flux-infused rounds.

Senjuro used his Cipher-Link

Nexus, hacking into the Bastille's compromised systems to restore

security functions.

Rin unleashed a hail of bullets from his dual Inferno

Stride Hand Cannons, forcing the enemy into a defensive retreat.

Despite their overwhelming

response, Segrito was relentless. More assassins emerged from the

breach, covering the escape route for Kaelon and Crix.

Kyrin spotted a heavily

armored transport vehicle at the far end of the battlefield. "That's

their extraction point!" he shouted.

Rin fired at the tires,

but the Quantum-Stabilized Armor absorbed the impact. "Damn

thing's reinforced!"

Senjuro, still locked into

the prison's security system, smirked. "Reinforced, yeah—but still on

my grid."

He pressed a command on

his Cipher-Link Nexus. Instantly, the Bastille's

Automated Sentry Turrets recalibrated and fired a concentrated plasma

burst at the vehicle, destroying its mobility.

"Boom! That should slow

them down." Senjuro grinned.

With their escape route compromised, Kaelon

Heshira and Crix Heshira emerged

from the chaos, their expressions filled with rage and desperation.

Crix locked eyes

with Kyrin, his voice dripping with venom. "You think you've won? This is just the

beginning, Vyvron."

Kyrin aimed his Shadow

Reaver-XQ at Crix's

head, his tone unwavering. "You lost the moment you stepped into my city."

Kaelon, the mastermind behind Segrito's advanced tech,

activated a Quantum Displacement Device in a last-ditch effort to teleport.

"NO, YOU DON'T!" Rin shouted, firing an EMP Shock Round from his FluxFire

MK-II. The blast

disrupted the teleportation field, causing Kaelon to collapse as the energy

feedback surged through his body.

With their leaders

incapacitated, the remaining Segrito forces began surrendering. The battle was

over.

As the QPD rounded up the remaining assassins, Oblivion

Bastille's security was fully restored. The district's power grid came

back online, and Kyrin's team stood victorious.

Senjuro exhaled. "That

was too close."

Rin holstered his

guns. "Yeah, but we sent a message—try to mess with Quantum Bay, and

you get wrecked."

Kyrin, however,

wasn't celebrating just yet. He glanced at the city skyline, his instincts

whispering that this was only the beginning. Segrito wouldn't stop here.

He turned to his

team. "This isn't over. We need to prepare—because next time, they

won't come for a prison break. They'll come for Quantum Bay itself."

The war had just begun.
