Chapter 32: The Ambush!

The sun rose slowly over Forsaken Z Island,

casting eerie shadows over its jagged cliffs and dark waters. The air was thick

with anticipation — today marked the beginning of Segrito's most ambitious

mission yet. In the heart of the island's military complex, the elite forces of

Segrito gathered, their faces set with grim determination. Three figures stood

at the forefront: Kaelis Dorne, the master strategist; Draven

Kryne, the fearsome enforcer; and Zareth Kaon, the sentinel of territorial

expansion.

Their mission was

clear — recapture the Dark Ripple Abyss and harness its volatile energy. This

power, once merged with Neo-Shinkoku Flux, would make Segrito unstoppable.

On the docks, three Obsidian

Wraiths floated like

silent phantoms — their sleek, black hulls gleamed ominously in the morning

light. Each boat was assigned a division, and the three leaders took their

places aboard their respective vessels. As the engines roared to life, the

Wraiths slid away from the island, cutting through the dark waters with

ghost-like precision.

Inside Kaelis

Dorne's Wraith, the atmosphere was tense. He stood at the helm, his

cold eyes scanning the horizon.

"Maintain

formation," he ordered. "We arrive together. We strike together."

On Draven

Kryne's Wraith, the mood was more aggressive. Draven leaned against a

weapons rack, sharpening his twin Abyssal Blades. "The Abyss belongs to us," he

growled. "Let's remind anyone who stands in our way why Segrito is feared."

In Zareth

Kaon's Wraith, Zareth addressed his soldiers with calm authority.

"This mission is more than conquest. It's about control. Follow orders, and we

will succeed."

The journey took

only a few minutes — but the sense of foreboding grew with every second. As

they neared their destination, the Island of the Abyss loomed ahead — a desolate place of

jagged rocks and swirling shadows. The air vibrated with strange energy — a

pulse that seemed to resonate with their very bones.

Kaelis activated

the comms. "Prepare for deployment. Stay alert. The Abyss has been dormant, but

that doesn't mean it's defenseless."

The three Wraiths docked on the island's eastern

shore. Soldiers and assassins poured out, weapons ready, forming tight ranks as

they advanced toward the heart of the island. They moved quickly and

efficiently — but the closer they got to the Abyss, the more oppressive the

atmosphere became. The ground itself seemed to hum with dark power.

As they approached

the entrance of the Abyss — a vast, gaping chasm surrounded by ancient, twisted

stone — the air split with an unearthly roar.

Suddenly, shadows

erupted from the ground, forming into monstrous figures — creatures

born of the Abyss's dark energy. The Segrito forces opened fire, but their

bullets passed through the creatures like mist.

"Hold your

ground!" Kaelis barked, his mind already calculating strategies. "Use the

Shadow Disruptors!"

Soldiers switched

to specialized weapons — Darkpulse Rifles and Abyss Breakers — and the tide of battle shifted. The

shadow creatures shrieked as they were torn apart by concentrated bursts of

anti-Abyssal energy.

But the creatures

kept coming — wave after wave, their numbers seemingly endless.

"Fall back into

formation!" Zareth commanded, his voice cutting through the chaos. "We push

forward together!"

Amid the chaos, Draven

Kryne was a force of

destruction. He carved through the enemy ranks with brutal efficiency, his

Abyssal Blades leaving trails of dark fire in their wake.

Suddenly, the

ground beneath them shook violently. The chasm began to

widen, and from its depths rose a figure — a massive being of pure dark energy, its

form constantly shifting and pulsing. The air grew colder, and the oppressive

energy became almost suffocating.

Kaelis's eyes

narrowed. "This wasn't part of the plan…"

The creature

raised a clawed hand, and dark tendrils lashed out, striking at

the Segrito forces. Soldiers were flung aside like rag dolls, and the lines

began to break.

"We need to fall

back!" Zareth shouted.

"No!" Draven

roared. "We fight!" He charged forward — but the creature swatted him aside,

sending him crashing into the rocks.

As the Segrito

forces began to retreat, the shadows grew thicker — and the voice

of the Abyss itself echoed across the island.

"You dare disturb

my slumber… You will suffer for your arrogance."

Kaelis's mind

raced. "We're outmatched. We need to regroup — now!"

But just as the order was given, the creature surged

forward — and the island erupted into chaos.

Zareth Kaon stood frozen, his eyes locked on the

massive creature looming over the battlefield — a monstrous guardian formed

from pure dark energy. The air pulsed with its power, sending waves of cold

fear through even the most seasoned Segrito assassins. As the shadow beast's

form twisted and coiled like living smoke, Zareth whispered under his breath,

his voice barely audible amid the chaos.

"The monster… it's protecting the Abyss. And those

assassins from Neo-Kyoto… they've taken the island and allied with this thing."

The revelation hit

like a thunderclap. The dark guardian wasn't just a wild force — it had a

purpose, and it was clear whose side it was on. The soldiers around him

exchanged uneasy glances. Fear was taking root.

But before that

fear could spread, Kaelis Dorne stepped forward, calm and

calculating even in the face of the impossible. His gloved hands worked

quickly, loading a sleek, black missile into a Neo-Shinkoku

Flux-Powered Launcher. The weapon hummed with energy — a sharp,

high-pitched sound like a blade singing in the air.

"To destroy the dark…" Kaelis's voice rose above the din of battle. "…you

need the light."

With a thunderous BOOM,

the missile launched — a streak of blinding neon light cutting through the

darkness. It arced high, then struck the shadow creature square in the chest.

The effect was

instantaneous. The Neo-Shinkoku Flux reacted violently with the creature's

dark energy. The beast howled, its form unraveling as streams of light pierced

through its body. The oppressive darkness began to lift, and with one final,

ear-splitting shriek, the monster faded into thin air, dissolving like

smoke in the wind.

For a moment,

there was silence — the kind of silence that comes after a storm.

But it didn't

last.

"AMBUSH!"

The shout rang out

from the western ridge. From the shadows of the rocks and the twisted trees, Neo-Kyoto

assassins emerged —

sleek, fast, and deadly. They struck like lightning, their movements fluid and

precise.

The Segrito forces

scrambled to respond, but the ambush was perfectly executed. Blades flashed,

and the air filled with the hiss of energy weapons and the crack of gunfire.

Zareth snarled,

drawing his Abyss Scythe, the weapon's dark blade

gleaming. "Hold the line! Push them back!"

But the Neo-Kyoto

assassins fought like phantoms — silent, fast, and merciless. Among them,

a figure stood out — Kyrin Vyvron, his pulse Uzis spitting

streams of shadow bullets with terrifying precision. Beside him, Blaze moved like living fire, his twin

Infernal Uzis cutting down enemies in rapid bursts.

Kaelis watched the

battlefield with cold calculation. "They're

too organized… This wasn't just an ambush. They were waiting for us."

Draven Kryne,

still bloodied from his earlier encounter, grinned through the pain. "Good. I was starting to get bored."

He charged into

the fray, his Abyssal Blades cutting a savage path. With every

strike, dark fire erupted, leaving smoking corpses in his wake. But even his

brutality couldn't turn the tide — the Neo-Kyoto assassins were too skilled,

too coordinated.

Zareth fought his

way to Kaelis's side. "We're losing

ground. We need to fall back."

Kaelis's eyes

narrowed. "Not yet. Not until the Abyss

is ours."

But as he spoke, a

new presence made itself known.

From the mouth of

the Abyss, a single figure emerged — Senjuro Kaine. His presence alone seemed

to shift the battlefield's gravity. Dressed in his signature black coat, his

red visors glinting ominously, he walked with the calm assurance of a man who knew

no fear.

"You shouldn't have come here." Senjuro's voice was low but carried across the battlefield. "The

Abyss isn't yours to take."

Kaelis's lips

curled into a snarl. "Then you'll die

protecting it."

He raised the

launcher again, but before he could fire, Senjuro moved.

It was too

fast — a blur of motion

followed by a flash of steel. When Kaelis's weapon fell to the ground in two

smoking halves, it took the strategist a moment to realize his arm had been cut

clean through the launcher without

ever touching him.

Kaelis staggered

back, clutching the ruined weapon. "Impossible…"

But Senjuro wasn't

finished. He raised his hand, and the air around him shifted — the energy itself bending to his

will. Neo-Shinkoku Flux and Dark Ripple Energy intertwined,

crackling like a storm.

"Leave now." Senjuro's voice was final. "Or

stay and be destroyed."

For the first time, Kaelis Dorne felt fear
