That's how that ended. Tragically.

He snitched to my father, and he gave me more bodyguards who were not allowed to leave me the hell alone.

---

Anyway, I went home and checked my diary.

Of course, Fenix was the main character.

---

His background? He was an orphan.

All parents have to be dead or divorced. No happy families allowed for the protagonist 'cuz authors like to torture their favorite characters.

He was indifferent to everything.

Like everything, he didn't care when he had to drink alcohol and had an allergic reaction.

The number of times I read "his eyes had no ripples" was whimsical. Not in a good way.

He got bullied for being an orphan.

'Cuz all main characters need to have trauma revealed late in the story to explain why he is such a pain in the ass.

He wasn't gonna take it lying down, so he locked Elliot in the bathroom stall for one hour before someone came looking for him.

That was a major plot point because they stopped bullying him for a while before he got a scholarship to Gilmore High School—or GHS for short, (because all schools have an abbreviation for some odd reason.)

Here, he got bullied more 'cuz some mf couldn't stand him getting more girls than him.

Bad move. You don't mess with the main character as a vicious cannon fodder.

I remember him the most 'cuz I met him in my second suicide attempt.

I call it an attempt because I failed.

---

He was a tall guy on a motorcycle, smoking a cigarette.

He looked really lonely in the white moonlight.

This was my second attempt at suicide.

I was looking for an assassin to kill me, so I got into the black market by myself.

It didn't work, so I tried to take a blade and stab myself in the middle of a narrow alley.

Just as I was about to slit my wrist, that guy grabbed my arm and pushed the blade to the ground.

He looked right at my face and said, "It doesn't matter if Ethan rejects you. Don't be discouraged. Have a spare wheel, or do you want me to introduce you to one?"

He pulled out his phone and started showing me a bunch of boys' photos.

What the hell?

I know Ethan.

He was that six-foot-tall guy that's like eighteen and lives near my house, I think.

But when the hell did I get rejected by him? If anything, I should be the one rejecting him.

"Who even are you?"

"Mark Lukerson," he said with annoyance.

The wind blew right into my face, making me shiver.

I know that guy.

It's not often that you get a crematorium scene, and this was the first guy who was retaliated against.

Well, let's just say he didn't end well.

He jumped off a building.

The company he inherited got sold off at a really low price.

His father died from a cardiovascular strain.

His life got ruined.

All for an apology that was half-hearted for the bottom.

I wouldn't say he didn't deserve it, but I don't think everyone around him should've died for his mistake.

Then again, I have no right to meddle in other people's beeswax.

His underlings, as they called themselves, also had a relatively bad ending.

*Intense anger can raise blood pressure and heart rate, putting extra stress on the cardiovascular system. This is particularly concerning for older adults with pre-existing heart conditions. This is called cardiovascular strain.

* Beeswax is an old-fashioned way of saying business.
