60- Men Can't Be Trusted

JANE

Frantic knocks on the door woke me up with a jolt and I peered at the clock with one eye open.

Nine thirty.

Clenching my eyes shut, I stretched my arms and legs on the bed. But another loud knock forced me to open my eyes.

Shit!

I sat up with a jolt when I remembered Dominic had asked me to get ready by ten.

There were more knocks and I had to climb out of the bed quickly before rushing to the door.

Opening the door, I found a maid outside.

"Ma'am. Breakfast is ready."

"Yeah. Sorry. I just woke up. Give me ten minutes, I'll be there," I said as a long yawn escaped my mouth.

With a small bow of her head, she left and I quickly went to the bathroom.

I couldn't sleep almost the whole night after Dominic left like that. I kept tossing and turning, straining my ears to listen to any faint noise from his room that would indicate he was home.
