Chapter 10: Playing Minecraft

Looking at the strange application, the cover alone was enough to pique his curiosity and make him click on it.

"Yo, chat, what the hell is this?" Zeddy muttered, leaning closer to the screen.

His viewers watched in real-time as he hovered over a bizarre-looking app buried deep in the indie section of Itch.io.

No ratings. No comments. No flashy thumbnails. Just a dull pixel-art cube and a title:

Minecraft

 Developer: Razon

The description read only: [Mine blocks to build]

"That's the description? That's it??" Zeddy blinked in disbelief.

On the other screen, the chat began to explode with messages, piling up rapidly as viewers reacted in confusion and amusement.

[Renz89: WHAT IS THAT? A TECH DEMO??]

[IdontKnowYou: That logo looks like it was made in MS Paint 😭]

[RobGod: ZEDDY be careful maybe it's a virus!]

[Jakoler: NO WAY YOU'RE CLICKING THAT]

[MrBeast: That's not a description, that's a threat]

[Draken: 'Mine blocks to build' – bro thanks for nothing]

[McdonaldTrump: 100% made in someone's dream at 3am]

[KidRizzler: WHY IS THE COVER JUST A BLOCK 😭]

"RobGod, what do you mean a virus? If it's a virus, just buy another PC, I guess," Zeddy said with a grin, casually brushing off the warning as he leaned back in his chair.

The chat burst into laughter, spamming emotes and sarcastic comments at his carefree response.

[RobGod: YO I DIDN'T EXPECT A CLAPBACK]

[B1tCrash: Bro casually flexing like PCs grow on trees]

[ZeroZuko: This man really said 'just buy a new PC' like it's gum]

[FriedCode: Zeddy rich rich rich rich]

[AltF4Yall: If I get a virus, can I send Zeddy the repair bill?]

[Jakoler(reply to AltF4Yall): Send the repair bill to Joe]

[AltF4Yall(reply to Jakoler): Who's Joe?]

[Jakoler(reply to AltF4Yall): Joe Mama]

Zeddy, the name of the guy, clearly wasn't just any ordinary streamer.

With over 818,000 viewers watching his Twitch stream live, the viewer count alone was proof of his status as a major social media influencer.

Without hesitation, he clicked download and opened the app.

[Minecraft

 Powered by: Razon]

The title screen appeared simple, yet oddly nostalgic leaving both Zeddy and his chat momentarily silent.

Then the main menu loaded.

The graphics were surprisingly polished, with a handcrafted charm that felt both retro and refined.

"Hey… it's actually not bad. Just from the main menu alone." The screen showed only a few options:

[Start Game] – [Settings] – [Exit]

The music was the same as the original, soft and ambient, triggering a wave of nostalgia.

As Zeddy's mouse hovered over each option, a satisfying clicking sound followed its sharp, clean, and oddly cool.

"Let's see," Zeddy muttered, clicking on: [Start Game].

A new menu appeared with several options. Without thinking too much, he clicked Create New World, then selected Survival mode, his favorite.

He wasn't exactly sure what Creative meant, so he skipped it.

The screen went black for a moment. Then, a chunky, pixelated loading bar appeared, surprisingly smooth despite its retro style.

At the bottom, a blinking message read:

[Generating world…]

[ByteSnax: GENERATING WHAT NOW]

[HollowDrive (reply to ByteSnax): You blind? It says Generating world]

[ByteSnax (reply to HollowDrive): Then why does it say generating Trees?]

[HollowDrive (reply to ByteSnax): I don't know, don't ask me]

[SmashRamsay: Just from the loading bar, it kinda looks to be good]

[TinyBoulder: Watch it crash at 99% LMAO]

The loading bar hit 100%, and suddenly, the screen snapped to life.

Zeddy's character appeared, standing in the middle of a vast open world.

Rolling hills stretched into the distance, chunky trees dotted the landscape, and square clouds drifted lazily across the pixelated sky.

The grass swayed gently as if stirred by a digital breeze.

"Whoa…" His voice dropped into a near whisper.

"This looks so amazing."

He had expected some kind of tutorial or basic guide maybe a pop-up explaining the controls, but there was nothing. No hints.

No objectives. Just silence and an open world.

It completely caught him off guard.

When he instinctively pressed W, the familiar movement key from countless games, he was surprised.

"Wait… I can move?" he said aloud, eyebrows raised. He pressed it again, and the character walked forward.

The camera swayed ever so slightly, it was smooth and responsive, with a satisfying sense of control.

"Hold up, my dear viewers... this feels nice," he muttered, now genuinely intrigued.

The live chat exploded with reactions as thousands watched the scene unfold in real time.

Live Chat:

[PixelPopz: Wow, this world looks so good]

[RobGod: Are those cubic structure trees? What a weird world]

[GamerGirl: Ey, the sun is also a square]

Zeddy moved his character toward the nearest tree. Curious, he clicked, expecting something to happen, but nothing did.

The character simply touched the bark.

"Why is he just touching the bark of the tree? Isn't there supposed to be a tutorial or something for basic understanding?" he said, sounding a mix of amused and confused.

He glanced at the chat, which was now flooded with theories, jokes, and spammed suggestions.

The viewers collectively agreed since nothing was explained, and everything felt like trial and error.

That was when Zeddy held down the mouse button, and suddenly, a soft cracking sound echoed from the game.

"Hey, it's finally doing something, look! The tree is breaking," he said, leaning forward in excitement.

Bit by bit, the tree block cracked under the pressure until snap, it finally broke.

In its place, a smaller version of the oak log block hovered briefly before being absorbed by his character, Steve. It appeared neatly in slot 1 of the inventory bar.

[Achievement Unlocked: Getting Wood]

"Hey, we got an achievement," Zeddy spoked in the stream.

As he directed the cursor of the mouse at the hotbar 1, then saw that the block was in his hand.

Live Chat:

[RobGod: That's wood? I thought it was an item]

[Seiji: I think the wood became an item after breaking it]

[AlexanderSwords: Getting Wood let's GO!!!]

"Let me see on how can I..," he did not finish what he said when he clicked left button of the mouse.

He placed the block right back where he had broken it, leaving him dumbfounded.

"What the heck just happened?" Zeddy muttered, frowning as he saw the block sitting exactly where it had been before.

Driven by curiosity, he decided to experiment. He looked down, broke the same block again, enjoying the oddly satisfying crackling sound, then placed it right back in the same spot.

"I understand it now," he said, eyes lighting up with realization.

A grin spread across his face as the mechanics began to make sense.

"Viewers as you can see just now, you can break anything as long as it its within reach. Also to place it just click the left button and their you have it," Zeddy explained as he demonstrated again towards the trees breaking it.

Live Chat:

[ZedPenta: I understand it now!!!]

[Invincible (reply to ZedPenta): Are you sure?]

[Shairax: The game is off to a good start]

[StupidDude: Can you break the sky?]

[TherapistGod (reply to StupidDude): What if I break your face]

After breaking all the oak blocks from the tree, Zeddy turned his attention to the leaves. Curious, he punched one, and it broke but nothing dropped.

"Huh? Where's my leaves?" Zeddy muttered, eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

He broke another. Still nothing.

And another.

"Yep, the game is broken," he declared flatly, leaning back in his chair with a sigh.

But just as he looked up to check the rest of the tree, the remaining leaves began to evaporate, fading away one by one.

Suddenly, a single red object dropped from the vanishing leaves and fell toward the ground.

"What's that?" Zeddy muttered as he moved toward the spot where the red object had fallen.

When his character picked it up, he clicked on the second hotbar slot, and the item appeared in his hand.

[Apple]

"An apple?… Ahh, now I get it," he said, nodding.

"Breaking the leaves doesn't give you blocks, it drops items instead. Some apples… and wait, there's another one." He picked up a second object.

[Oak Sapling]

"An oak sapling," Zeddy read aloud.

"Looks like a seed to plant more trees," he added, glancing over at the chat.

"Okay, this game's starting to make more sense."

Live Chat:

[ILoveApple: HE GOT AN APPLE FROM THE SKY]

[UncleGrandpa: The mini version of the oak sapling looks cute]

[RobGod: Hurry and eat the apple, Zeddy]

[SaplingSam: You can eat?]

[RobGod (reply to SaplingSam): It's food, I think it's possible to eat it]

"Eat it? I'll try," Zeddy said as he glanced at the chat, curiosity written all over his face.

He right-clicked but nothing happened.

He held right-click, but instead of eating, his character began breaking the ground using the apple.

"Huh? That's not it..." he muttered, brows furrowing.

Then he tried left-clicking. The character moved his hand slightly toward his mouth.

Encouraged, Zeddy held the left-click and sure enough, the character began to take slow, animated bites of the apple.

"Ah! There it is!" Zeddy smiled.
