The media termed it the joining of two giants.
The Kapoor family was a powerful business family controlling the textile business of Mumbai. A half a century old conglomerate they were a family business headed by a stern matriarch Mrs. Shanti Devi Kapoor. Her two living sons carried the business forward. The elder one was dead. They were a strong family and even stronger business. Since her husband laid the foundation 50 years earlier it has only grown and gone bullish. No setbacks.
BUT IT STILL LACKED ONE THING. Numero uno position of market.
AND SINGHANIAS HELD THAT COVETED POSITION.
Adhiraj Singhania led Singhania constructions But the force that propelled it was Sumeet Singhania. The Dragon. The man who was meant to rule. His hands has Midas touch. Whatever he touched bowed down on his feet in surrender. A king meant to rule Mumbai dubbed media. But he was not a mere king thought Shanti Devi. HE WAS AN EMPEROR.
And today she would be the one providing a Queen to that emperor.
The one thing that went right in this third generation of girls.
She sighed. She had three sons. Three heirs to carry her name forward. All she ever wanted from them was a grand son . And what does she get?
An army of daughters. Nine in total. Heavens!
But her prayers were finally answered. The dragon fell hard for one of them.
Sheetal she thought. The daughter of her eldest son late Ranbir and Romila a girl she chose for him after all the fiasco he did. Well all that is behind her now. This wedding will enforce Kapoor's position firmly in market.
Meanwhile
Sheetal was on a call.
" All the preparations are done. You do as you are told and then we can escape", a voice said.
" I don't want all this you know that", Sheetal replied.
" Think of it as an exam. Then you can be away from all this living a life you always dreamed of", the voice said. " Remember what I will pay you. You need the money".
" I hope it is worth it", she said.
" Worth every penny", said the voice.
" Okay then", she said. " I am in".
Singhania House
" So you are biting the bullet too".
Sumeet looked up. He was getting ready for his nupitals. His best friend Zeeshan was smirking at him.
" Where are the others", he asked.
" On their way", he said.
" I wished he was here too", he mused.
" Well careful what you wish for", said Zeeshan devilshly.
" Don't tell me", Sumeet rose up. He looked super excited.
" He is on his way. He cut short his honeymoon", said Zeeshan.
" Shut up", Sumeet was ectastic.
" You got your wish assh*le", said Zeeshan.
"What about you", asked Sumeet. " When are you getting married"?
A dark cloud entered Zeeshan's eyes.
" Some of us are not cut for weddings my friend but I wish you well", he said.
" Still hooked up on her", asked Sumeet.
" Until I am a dead man", sighed Zeeshan. " Now you get a move".
His other two friends Guru and Shaun entered.
" Ahh on time", said Sumeet. " We are about to start my baarat( groom's procession to wedding venue)"
" NOT WITHOUT ME", came a voice.
" JEET", Sumeet got up. He ran and so did the other man. The hugged each other strongly.
" You lost the bet", Sumeet said to him." She is marrying me".
" I am glad to lose it", said Jeet.
" Your wife didn't kill you", Guru raised a brow.
" She tried", shrugged Jeet. " Well her prejudice is baseless. Looking for black and white everywhere. World has his shades of grey". He shrugged again.
" Lets get you married", said Shaun and they all started dancing as Sumeet climbed the horse.

The procession moved leisurely towards the venue unaware of the doom that awaited them.
Venue A seven star Luxury resort in Lonavala
Revathi house was ready to witness the wedding of the century. ALL THE ROOMS WERE BOOKED. Only invitations brought the guests in. A tight security check was at all the entrances and exits. The entire resort shone like a star. The ligjts were brighter than the sky. Drones checked the security. A chopper to was there. Fireworks lit the night sky. Extravaganza at every corner. A royal display of wealth and power. And not even intentional. The dragon was gettinmarried.
" Sheetal you are so lucky", said Pinky the second eldest daughter of the family.
" One lpok at you and he was hooked. Never looked at any one of us", said Payal another one.
" Barat is here", giggled one of them and they all ran away.
WELL THIS IS IT THOUGHT SHEETAL.
Her ticket to escape this life. She wants no part in it. She will live life on her own terms. With determined steps she moved forward to take out a package she retrieved earlier from a place she knew it would be hidden. And took out its content. Holding it firmly in her hands.
In one of the rooms
" The day has arrived Sumeet Singhania", said a masked man. " That seat was mine. I should be the rightful owner. You stole my birthright. But I shall have it back. Wait and watch. Yo won't know whats coming for you".
BUT JEET FELT SOMETHING WAS OFF THE MOMENT HE ENTERED THE MAIN HALL.
" Something is not right", he whispered to Guru.
" What", Guru stiffened.
" Can't pinpoint but an impexing doom", he replied.
" I'll talk to Zeeshu", said Guru.
Jeet nodded. It was not the first time dragon would be attacked. And he has a responsibility towards his friend.
Soon the four friends were scanning the hall, employers and guests. They got nothing.
" Probably just nerves", said Shaun
But Jeet was not convinced.
The bride now arrived for the garland ceremony. She walked slowly as Sumeet smiled at her. He gave her a hand to climb the dice.
Sheetal was really nervous . Now or never.
Sumeet garlanded her.
" I love you", he said.
" I AM SORRY", she said.
" Sorry", he blurted.
" I have to go", she said
" Sheetal", he cried.
" Do it", a voice blared in her ears.
" SUMEET CAREFUL. GUYS ITS HER", Jeet screamed as he lunged at her.
She took out the hidden gun.
" SORRY", she said. " But this needs to be done.
At that moment Jeet hit her. A chaos ensued.
" She.she", Sumeet was shocked.
His friends shielded him trying to get him back.
Sheetal tried to run but Jeet caught up. She was going to die. Adrenaline kicked up. She was close to escape.
She picked up the gun. And pointed at DRAGON. Without thinking she shot.
Bam...
Someone came between the dragon and that bullet.
" NOOOOOO", he screamed.
" Time to go", said the dying man. " Make them pay", he said to dragon.
An innocent life wasted away....
Someone closed his eyes forever.
Dragon was badly wounded too.
" If life gives me another chance I bring havoc on this city", he promised as consiousness faded.
The wedding turned to a funeral.
