After waiting for what felt like an eternity, Blue Silver Emperor stood in the shade of a cool corner, occasionally glancing toward the entrance of the Spirit Hall.

It was nearly 9 a.m. when Blue Silver Emperor finally caught sight of Lin Yongming's small figure descending the steps.

"Blind little brother, why did it take so long? My legs are numb from squatting," Blue Silver Emperor complained, her tone tinged with frustration.

"Sorry, it's my first time registering as a Spirit Master. The process was a bit complicated and took longer than expected," Lin Yongming apologized.

The registration process had taken almost an hour, but fortunately, he now had his Spirit Master handbook in hand. Next time, it wouldn't be so troublesome.

"Let's go. If we're any later, all the carriages might be gone. Then you, a blind boy, will have to walk to the Star Dou Forest," Blue Silver Emperor said.

"Alright, alright, I get it. It's me who needs the spirit ring, so why are you so anxious?"

"I'm doing this for your sake. If we delay any longer, by the time we reach the outskirts of the Star Dou Forest, it'll be dark. Do you even have the money to stay overnight?"

As they walked toward the gate, they gathered the necessary supplies: a tent, food for the journey, and provisions for their time in the forest.

At the gate, they spotted a carriage and approached it.

"Uncle, how much to go to the Star Dou Forest?" Lin Yongming asked directly.

"The Star Dou Forest? That's quite a distance. It'll take two days. One and a half gold spirit coins. Don't worry, my carriage is known for its speed in the nearby towns. Other carriages might take three days, so you're getting your money's worth," the coachman, dressed in simple clothes with a bit of stubble, explained with a friendly demeanor.

"Alright," Lin Yongming agreed, handing over the money. After all, this was the last carriage in town.

"Hop on, you two," the coachman said, ushering them into the carriage. Once they were seated, the coachman set off, picking up speed as they left the city gates.

"It's true what they say—Spirit Masters earn money easily, but they spend it just as fast," Lin Yongming thought to himself, lamenting how quickly his newly acquired gold spirit coins had vanished.

The carriage was indeed fast, as the coachman had promised, traveling at about 20 kilometers per hour on the dirt road. However, the ride was also incredibly bumpy, leaving Lin Yongming feeling quite uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, at the Spirit Hall headquarters in Spirit City...

"Your Holiness, a letter from the branch bishop of a small town has arrived."

The Pope took the letter and glanced at it.

"Wurto Town… Don't tell me another innate full spirit power individual has appeared this year," the Pope muttered as she opened the envelope.

"Hmm, a blind boy with a hundred-year spirit ring? He reached ten levels of spirit power in just one year? Such a genius with innate full spirit power is rare, but it's a pity he's blind. Should we invest in him?"

The Pope was visibly surprised by Lin Yongming's rapid progress in spirit power. The letter also mentioned the possibility of investing in him, but given his condition, she couldn't help but hesitate.

"Disciple, what do you think I should do?" the Pope asked, turning to a young girl beside her.

The girl's clear eyes sparkled as she pondered the question.

"Teacher, perhaps we should wait and see. Let the branch bishop keep an eye on him. If he doesn't obtain his second spirit ring within a year, we could send a hundred-year spirit beast to him. On the other hand, if he does obtain his second spirit ring within that time, it would prove that even though he's blind, his senses are extraordinary. Didn't the letter also mention that he could move freely and avoid obstacles during his Spirit Master registration?"

The girl's thoughtful response impressed the Pope.

"Very well. Since this is your first suggestion, we'll go with your idea. After all, a single spirit beast is nothing to the Spirit Hall," the Pope decided, immediately drafting a letter to send back to Wurto Town.

Two days later, the Star Dou Forest came into view.

It was just past noon when the carriage stopped at the outermost edge of the Star Dou Forest. Beyond this point, there were no roads—only paths for walking.

"We've arrived, sirs," the coachman announced, stepping down from the carriage.

"Finally, we're here. What a journey," Lin Yongming said, his head spinning as he stepped out of the carriage.

"Ugh, I'm so dizzy from all that bumping," Blue Silver Emperor complained, her beautiful long hair now slightly disheveled.

"Heh, you'll get used to it. Well, sirs, this is your destination. I'll be on my way now," the coachman said, eager to leave the area.

"Thank you, uncle," Lin Yongming nodded.

The coachman turned and leisurely drove away.

"Blind little brother, let's rest for a bit before heading in. My head is still spinning," Blue Silver Emperor said, rubbing her forehead.

"Sure," Lin Yongming agreed, sitting down on the grass by the roadside and taking a sip from his water bottle.

"Blind little brother, you should really get a storage spirit tool. Carrying all these bags around is so inconvenient when you're traveling."

"Luckily, you met me. Otherwise, getting to the Star Dou Forest would've been even harder for you," Blue Silver Emperor said, handing Lin Yongming some biscuits.

These were supplies they had prepared in Wurto Town. Since Lin Yongming was already carrying a bag, the rest had been stored in Blue Silver Emperor's storage spirit tool, a bracelet.

"Thanks," Lin Yongming said, accepting the biscuits.

"I'd love to have a storage spirit tool, but they're so expensive. There's no way I can afford one right now," Lin Yongming replied, a bit helplessly.

"Don't worry, there's no rush. You're still young," Blue Silver Emperor said in a big-sisterly tone.

"Pfft, you're not that much older than me."

"I'm talking about my age in human form," Lin Yongming thought to himself.

"I'm five years older, you know," Blue Silver Emperor added.

As they chatted and ate a few more biscuits, they eventually got up and began walking toward the Star Dou Forest.

After passing through a small grove, they reached a relatively open area where a simple, rundown inn stood. It was even more basic than the ones in town.

Beyond the inn, they walked a little further until they came across a safety warning sign. This marked the true outer boundary of the Star Dou Forest.

"Warning: Spirit Beast Forest ahead. Spirit beasts may appear. Proceed with caution." It was unclear who had erected this sign.

"We're about to enter the forest, blind little brother. Have you decided which spirit beast you need? I'll only help you kill the one you need. As for the others, as long as they don't provoke us, I won't attack them unnecessarily," Blue Silver Emperor said, gazing into the dense, shadowy forest.

"I understand. You're worried about alerting other spirit beasts and putting us in danger."

"As for my second spirit ring, I've already thought it through. My spirit is a thunder-attribute tool spirit, so I'm aiming for a spirit beast with strong offensive capabilities," Lin Yongming explained confidently, setting his sights on a thunder-attribute, attack-type spirit beast.

"Alright, let's head into the forest. I'll take the lead," Blue Silver Emperor said, stepping past the boundary.

Lin Yongming followed closely, keeping about a meter behind her.
