The next day, Lin Yongming and the others finally saw the Star Lake that the Blue Silver Emperor and Xiao Rou had mentioned.

The lake was crystal clear, with gentle ripples spreading across its surface. The opposite shore was so far away that it was barely visible.

"I never expected such a massive lake deep within the Star Dou Great Forest. This must be the lifeblood of the forest. I can sense many ten-thousand-year soul beasts gathered along its shores," Dugu Bo remarked, gazing at the lake in awe.

Although Dugu Bo had visited the forest several times before, he had never ventured this deep.

"The lake is indeed beautiful, but I think we've gone too far. The soul beasts here are all over fifty thousand years old. The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger probably isn't in this area," Xiao Rou said with a gentle smile.

"I agree. Although there are many ten-thousand-year soul beasts here, the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's aura is sinister and evil. It's notorious among soul beasts. If it were here, it would likely be attacked by the other soul beasts, especially near such an important water source," the Blue Silver Emperor added, supporting Xiao Rou's point.

"Perhaps we've deviated slightly from our original path during our search. Let's move back toward the outer regions a bit," Lin Yongming suggested, knowing full well the reason for their detour.

"Alright, you're in charge. I'm just here to lend a hand," Dugu Bo said, not objecting.

"By the way, there's a rumor that the Star Dou Great Forest is home to hundred-thousand-year soul beasts. But we've gone this deep and haven't encountered any. It seems the rumors are false. Aside from having more types of soul beasts, this place isn't much different from the Sunset Forest," Dugu Bo added, sounding somewhat disappointed.

"Rumors are just rumors. If there really were hundred-thousand-year soul beasts here, the Spirit Hall would have turned the forest upside down by now," the Blue Silver Emperor replied casually.

"True. Even if there were hundred-thousand-year soul beasts in the past, the Spirit Hall probably hunted them down and spread the rumors," Lin Yongming agreed.

"You're quite the rebel, kid. You're the only one here from the Spirit Hall, yet you don't defend them. You're hunting soul beasts without their help. Sometimes I really don't understand why you joined the Spirit Hall in the first place," Dugu Bo teased.

"I didn't have much of a choice. As a commoner who just awakened my spirit, joining the Spirit Hall was my best option. But I don't want to owe them too much. If I did, it would be hard to leave later," Lin Yongming explained with a sigh.

"That's fair. I have to admit, the Spirit Hall is the best choice for commoners. At least you don't have to worry about resources in the early stages," Dugu Bo nodded in agreement.

"Alright, we shouldn't linger here too long. Soul beasts come to drink from the lake all the time, and we'll just waste more time dealing with them. We've already been here for over ten days. Let's continue searching westward," Xiao Rou reminded them.

"Let's go," Lin Yongming nodded.

The four of them adjusted their path, moving westward while gradually shifting toward the outer regions of the forest.

They maintained their formation, with Dugu Bo and Xiao Rou on the outer flanks and Lin Yongming and the Blue Silver Emperor in the middle.

Another ten days passed, and the group had now spent over twenty days in the forest. They were now closer to the Star Luo Empire's border.

One night, the four of them sat around their campfire in front of their tents.

"Xiao Ming, it's been over twenty days. Maybe we should give up. If you can't absorb the fifth soul ring now, you can try for the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's soul ring at your sixth rank," Xiao Rou suggested reluctantly.

"That's right, Xiao Ming. I'm worried that you might not be able to handle the energy of the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger at your fifth rank. It might be better to wait until your sixth rank," the Blue Silver Emperor added, leaning against Lin Yongming.

Lin Yongming listened to their advice and felt a flicker of doubt.

However, he had reached a critical point in his Asura inheritance. The final chapter of the Wave Secret Manual, which dealt with darkness, was within his grasp.

He believed that the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's soul ring could help him unlock the final chapter and finally open his eyes, which had been sealed for twelve years.

That was why Lin Yongming was so determined to hunt the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. Its attributes—space, darkness, and lightning—aligned perfectly with his own.

With the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's soul ring, he might be able to break through and regain his sight.

"No, I have a feeling that this Dark Demon Evil God Tiger is crucial for my fifth soul ring. It might even trigger a second awakening of my spirit, granting me a spirit domain. Even if it means missing the Continental Elite Tournament, I have to find it," Lin Yongming insisted stubbornly.

"I know A'yin and Sister Xiao Rou have worked hard, but I really don't want to give up now," Lin Yongming added, looking at them earnestly.

"Alright, we've already covered more than half the distance from the eastern to the western part of the forest. We can't give up halfway. Besides, we've already spent over twenty days searching. A few more days won't hurt."

"If this little monster's spirit undergoes a second awakening and gains a spirit domain, all our efforts will be worth it," Dugu Bo said, though he sounded a bit resigned.

"Fine, I know once you set your mind on something, there's no changing it," the Blue Silver Emperor said, both exasperated and concerned for Lin Yongming.

"Right, we can't give up now. Senior Dugu, you've been on night watch for two days. Let me take over tonight," Xiao Rou offered.

"Alright," Dugu Bo agreed.

He then set up his tent and prepared to rest.

Meanwhile, the Blue Silver Emperor entered the tent with Lin Yongming, though she found it hard to sleep.

"A'yin, do you have something on your mind?" Lin Yongming asked, holding her close.

"To be honest, are you hiding something from me?" the Blue Silver Emperor asked, voicing the doubt that had been nagging at her.

"Alright, I'll tell you. I feel like there's a power hidden within my eyes. I have a feeling that obtaining the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's soul ring might help me regain my sight. That's why I'm so determined to find it," Lin Yongming whispered softly.

Hearing this, the Blue Silver Emperor recalled the terrifying red lines she had seen in Lin Yongming's eyes before.

"Could it be that Xiao Ming's current strength is enough to control that mysterious eye power? Is that why he's so insistent?" she wondered silently.

"Xiao Ming, is that true? If so, I'll stay with you in the Star Dou Great Forest until we find the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger," the Blue Silver Emperor said, her voice filled with determination.

"Thank you, A'yin. I'm sorry for putting you through all this," Lin Yongming said guiltily, kissing her forehead.

"Xiao Ming, don't say that. We're husband and wife. Sharing both joy and hardship with you is what makes our bond special. These are the memories we'll cherish," the Blue Silver Emperor replied tenderly.

"Alright, let's sleep. We have to get up early tomorrow to continue our search," Lin Yongming said, gently patting her back.

"Okay."

Holding each other close, the two of them drifted off to sleep, their hearts a little lighter after their conversation.

As the night deepened, the three of them, exhausted from the day's efforts, fell into a deep sleep. Only Xiao Rou remained awake, sitting on a tree branch.

However, even she began to doze off as the hours passed.

Suddenly, Xiao Rou's ears twitched. She heard faint, panicked voices in the distance.

"That sounds like human voices. They seem frantic, and there's more than one person," Xiao Rou thought, though the distance made it hard to discern the details.

In the stillness of the night, even the faintest sounds carried far. Xiao Rou remained alert but didn't take any immediate action.

However, as time passed, she noticed that the voices were getting closer.

"Hmm? It sounds like they're heading this way. It seems like they're being chased by something," Xiao Rou thought, her focus sharpening.

About five hundred meters away, five people were running for their lives. Each of them had released their spirits and was using their soul skills to fend off the creature chasing them.

"Damn it! What kind of soul beast is this black tiger? It's not even thirty thousand years old, but it can use skills like a spirit master!" one of them cursed, narrowly dodging a dark red energy blade launched by the tiger.

"Third Brother, are you okay? Keep running! This tiger is strange. It's not even thirty thousand years old, but it's not something we can handle," a middle-aged man said, helping his teammate up and urging the others to keep moving.

"Boss, don't worry about me. My abilities are too slow. I won't be able to outrun this tiger," the man called Third Brother replied.

"Don't talk nonsense! We're leaving together. Fifth Brother is already dead. We can't lose anyone else."

The black tiger's red eyes glowed as a layer of light enveloped its body. It charged straight at the two men, leaving afterimages in its wake.

"Boss, watch out!" Third Brother shouted, pushing the middle-aged man aside just as the tiger's massive head collided with him.

Third Brother was sent flying, blood gushing from his mouth. He crashed into a tree over ten meters away and slumped to the ground.

"Third Brother!"

"Third Brother!"

The remaining four shouted in unison.

"Run! Don't let our sacrifices be in vain!" Third Brother yelled, clutching the tiger's head with all his might.

The tiger shook itself free, its massive jaws clamping down on Third Brother's neck. With a sickening crunch, it severed his head from his body.

The tiger's blood-red eyes then turned toward the remaining four.

"Run! Don't let their deaths be in vain!" the leader shouted.

The four of them continued to flee, their hearts heavy with grief. They ran blindly, no longer paying attention to their direction.

Meanwhile, the black tiger gave chase, its dark form blending seamlessly into the night.

"Damn it, they're heading this way," Xiao Rou muttered, jumping down from her perch.

Another scream echoed through the forest.

"This energy... it's definitely the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. It hunts at night, and it must have ambushed them at their camp. Otherwise, they wouldn't be running around like this," Xiao Rou thought, sensing the familiar, sinister aura.

"Dugu Bo, Xiao Ming, A'yin, wake up! The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger is here!" Xiao Rou called out, knocking on their tents.

"Where?" Lin Yongming woke up immediately.

"Hurry! Some people are being chased by the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. I can sense its energy. It's the same as when I encountered it before. There's no mistake," Xiao Rou explained quickly as the three of them emerged from their tents.

"Let me check. Blue Silver Grass," the Blue Silver Emperor said, releasing her spirit. The grass around her feet glowed faintly, and the glow spread outward.

"About two hundred meters southwest of us, a Spirit Emperor and two Spirit Kings are being chased by a black tiger," the Blue Silver Emperor reported.

"A'yin, I didn't know you could use the Blue Silver Grass to sense things so far away," Dugu Bo said, impressed.

"Since we've found it, let's go. Those three look like they're about to collapse," Dugu Bo added.

"Let's move," Xiao Rou nodded.

The four of them didn't even bother packing up their tents and headed southwest.

Before long, their spiritual senses detected the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger.

A short while later, they spotted the tiger from behind a tree.

It was a massive, pitch-black tiger with no other colors on its body. Its red eyes glowed with a sinister light, and its muscular frame was over five meters long, weighing at least a thousand pounds. The "king" character on its forehead was also black, but it was a darker, more ominous shade, like a swirling mist.

The most striking feature was its tail, which was much longer than a normal tiger's and stood upright. It was made up of numerous segments, with a large hook at the end that gleamed menacingly, resembling a scorpion's stinger.

As they watched, the tiger gathered its energy, and dozens of dark red energy blades formed around it, shooting toward the fleeing trio.

"Wow, it really can use its own energy to release skills. I was skeptical before, but seeing it now is truly eye-opening," Dugu Bo said, amazed.

"What's more, the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger is only about five meters long, which means it's around twenty-seven to twenty-eight thousand years old. That's perfect for Xiao Ming to absorb. And it looks like those people are part of a soul beast hunting team. They've already worn the tiger down a bit," Xiao Rou analyzed.

Xiao Rou's tone was calm, though she harbored a deep dislike for soul beast hunters.

"The terrain ahead is relatively flat, with a few large trees. Those hunters won't be able to outrun the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, especially with its wind and lightning attributes."

"Moreover, the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger is cunning and intelligent. If we don't capture it tonight, it'll be even harder to find later," the Blue Silver Emperor added.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

Dugu Bo's eyes, which had turned black, now glowed with a green light as he activated his soul power.

"Dugu Bo, don't underestimate it. The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger has an innate domain. We need to take it down in one go," Xiao Rou warned.
