Although Lin Yongming hid his worries well, Blue Silver Emperor had known him for more than just a day or two. As the person who shared his pillow, even the slightest change in his expression couldn't escape her notice, especially given how perceptive she was.
"A'Yin, I have a feeling that the Spirit Hall's attack on Sea God Island this time might end in a disastrous defeat," Lin Yongming sighed, his heart as turbulent as the waves of the sea before him.
"Huh? Why do you say that? With the forces Qian Xunji has dispatched this time, even the top three sects on the mainland wouldn't be able to withstand them. The strength of the personnel sent this time is overwhelming," Blue Silver Emperor replied, not understanding Lin Yongming's concerns.
Lin Yongming opened his mouth to explain but stopped himself. Blue Silver Emperor wasn't wrong. The forces Qian Xunji had sent this time were formidable. Any of the top three sects would suffer greatly against a team with twelve Title Douluos.
"You're right, but launching such a large-scale attack without knowing the enemy's strength is a huge risk. If we miscalculate, the losses could be irreparable. You know, attacking without understanding the enemy is a major taboo. This isn't a game; you need to know your enemy to win a hundred battles. That's the right approach. But now, we know nothing about them. All we have is the word of that sea spirit master Qian Xunji captured. What if he's lying to us?" Lin Yongming explained helplessly, trying to convince himself.
"You make a good point, but they won't listen to you. Besides, the main force isn't us—it's the Title Douluos, Spirit Douluos, and the hundred-strong Angel Corps. If the Spirit Hall really can't defeat Sea God Island, we'll just have to protect ourselves. Whether we win or lose isn't something we need to worry about right now," Blue Silver Emperor shared her thoughts.
"You're right, A'Yin, but I'm not worried about them. I'm worried about you and Dong'er. If something happens to you…" Lin Yongming shook his head helplessly.
"Stop it! Don't say such unlucky things. Even if there's danger, as long as I'm with you, it'll be a testament to our bond and a memory we'll share," Blue Silver Emperor interrupted, her gentle eyes filled with determination.
"I'm sure Dong'er feels the same way," she added, leaning into Lin Yongming's embrace.
"Mm," Lin Yongming nodded. "A'Yin, you and Dong'er are such good girls. I know you're not afraid, but I am. I'm afraid I won't be able to protect you."
"Nonsense, we'll all be fine," Blue Silver Emperor nestled into Lin Yongming's arms.
As Blue Silver Emperor had said, they were already at sea, and worrying now wouldn't change anything. Lin Yongming could only plan how to protect himself and his two beloved companions once they arrived at Sea God Island.
After dozens of days at sea, there was still no sign of Sea God Island.
"It's been nearly half a month. Tell me, why haven't we seen Sea God Island yet?" In the lowest cabin of the ship, Chrysanthemum Douluo, under Qian Xunji's orders, interrogated the sea spirit master.
"Sir, at this point, what good would lying do me? Maybe we're just slightly off course. After all, we just encountered a storm two days ago," the sea spirit master replied weakly.
Chrysanthemum Douluo didn't care for excuses. He grabbed the sea spirit master by the neck and forced him to look out the window at the ocean.
"Tell me, where are we now?" Chrysanthemum Douluo demanded coldly.
"This area looks familiar. Sir, believe me, we're already within Sea God Island's waters. We'll definitely see the island in a few days," the sea spirit master replied, struggling weakly.
"Hmph, three days. I'll give you three more days. If we don't see Sea God Island by then, I'll throw you overboard to feed the fish," Chrysanthemum Douluo said, releasing the sea spirit master and wiping his hand with a handkerchief before returning to Qian Xunji.
"Spirit Hall, and you, you effeminate freak, I'll have my revenge. With the High Priest and the Seven Sacred Pillar Elders, Sea God Island will make sure you never return," the sea spirit master thought bitterly, watching Chrysanthemum Douluo leave.
"Sea God, please forgive your faithful servant for leading these villains to Sea God Island," the sea spirit master knelt and prayed devoutly.
"Now, we'll enter the territory of the Demonic Devil Shark group. Consider this a prelude."
At the same time, a dark shadow appeared in the deep sea beneath the ship.
"We've got a situation! Stay alert!" Qian Xunji, who had been resting with his eyes closed, suddenly stood up, his spiritual power having detected the disturbance.
"Your Excellency, a large group of sea spirit beasts has appeared beneath our ship," Chrysanthemum Douluo reported, his Title Douluo-level spiritual power confirming the threat.
"Hmph, just in time. Let's see if this vast ocean has any 100,000-year sea spirit beasts. Prepare for battle!" Qian Xunji ordered coldly, stepping out of the cabin and onto the deck.
The commotion woke Lin Yongming and the others from their meditation.
"What's going on?" Lin Yongming asked as he stepped out of his room, running into Bi Bi Dong, who had just emerged from hers.
"Probably sea spirit beasts attacking our fleet," Lin Yongming answered.
"Let's go take a look," Bi Bi Dong said immediately.
The three of them made their way through the corridors and onto the deck.
"Your Holiness."
"Teacher, what's happening? Are sea spirit beasts blocking our path?" Bi Bi Dong asked as she approached.
"Yes, Saintess," Chrysanthemum Douluo replied.
"Elder Lingyuan, you're responsible for protecting the Saintess and these three," Qian Xunji ordered, turning to the only female Title Douluo present.
"Understood, Your Holiness," Lingyuan, clad in dark golden armor with medium-length hair, looked valiant and heroic.
"On my command, all ships will continue forward. Any sea spirit beasts that block our path will be killed," Qian Xunji declared, standing at the bow of the ship.
"Yes!"
"By the Pope's order, continue forward and slay the sea spirit beasts!"
Lin Yongming, Blue Silver Emperor, and Bi Bi Dong could only watch as the others took action.
"They're here!" Lin Yongming's mind's eye detected the sea spirit beasts beneath the ship, preparing to leap out of the water.
Boom!
A tiger shark slammed into the ship, causing the massive vessel to shudder. At the same time, the shark leaped out of the water, its jaws wide open as it aimed to bite down on a Spirit Hall member standing on the deck.
"Spirit Soul, awaken!" Everyone shouted in unison, releasing their spirits.
The battle erupted instantly. A protective barrier suddenly appeared around the ship, shielding it from harm.
"The ship actually has a defensive mechanism?" Lin Yongming was surprised.
"Of course. Although we know very little about the ocean, we do know that it's home to the most spirit beasts. So when building these ships, we considered the possibility of being attacked by large groups of sea spirit beasts while at sea," Elder Lingyuan explained without turning around.
"So the entire ship is a spirit tool?" Lin Yongming asked, puzzled.
"Haha, no. It's just an ordinary cargo ship with a few auxiliary spirit tools installed," Lingyuan shook her head.
"I thought so. With the current level of technology on the Douluo Continent, building such a massive spirit tool ship would be impossible," Lin Yongming chuckled at his own naive assumption.
The outer ships had already begun engaging the enemy.
Lin Yongming's ship was in the middle of the fleet, so it faced minimal attacks.
Qian Xunji and Chrysanthemum Douluo had quietly made their way to the top deck, watching the battle unfold from above.
"Your Excellency, although there are many sea spirit beasts, only about a dozen are at the 10,000-year level. The rest are at the 1,000-year or 100-year level. There are no 100,000-year spirit beasts," Chrysanthemum Douluo reported after observing for a while.
"Is there really no 100,000-year spirit beast in this vast ocean? Are they really that rare?" Qian Xunji frowned.
"There might be, but the ocean is too vast. Encountering one is incredibly difficult," Chrysanthemum Douluo shook his head.
"Forget it. Have the Purple-clothed Deacons take action. Let's not waste any more time. Full speed ahead to Sea God Island," Qian Xunji had lost his patience.
"Yes!"
"All Deacons, attack together!" Chrysanthemum Douluo's sharp voice echoed across the ships.
With the Spirit Douluos joining the fight, the tiger shark group was cleared in about ten minutes. Only a few 10,000-year spirit beasts managed to escape by diving into the depths.
"My King, they're heading to Sea God Island. Their strength is impressive."
"Sea God Island's Sea God! Continue monitoring."
"Understood."
The tiger shark group had come and gone quickly. Within half an hour, the sea was calm again, not even a single fish in sight.
"This doesn't make sense. The tiger shark group shouldn't be this small."
The sea spirit master in the lowest cabin watched the tiger sharks retreat, puzzled.
"Your Excellency, if the sea spirit beasts are this weak, Sea God Island probably isn't much stronger," Chrysanthemum Douluo said with a smile. "Recruiting the sea spirit masters will be a piece of cake."
"Enough flattery. Dismissed," Qian Xunji said, though the smile on his face showed he was pleased.
"This is strange. The sea spirit beasts shouldn't be this weak. They came with such force, but it seems like they were just testing our strength," Lin Yongming thought, unlike Qian Xunji and the others, who assumed the enemy was weak.
After all, Lin Yongming knew that there was an incredibly powerful sea spirit beast lurking in the ocean.
"Xiao Ming, what are you thinking about? Let's go back and continue meditating," Blue Silver Emperor pulled Lin Yongming, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Mm, okay," Lin Yongming nodded.
The three of them returned to their rooms.
"Lingyuan, once we land on Sea God Island, you'll be responsible for protecting these three," Qian Xunji instructed Elder Lingyuan as he watched Bi Bi Dong and the others.
"Understood, Your Excellency," Lingyuan nodded in acknowledgment.
For the next two days, the fleet sailed without encountering any other sea spirit beasts, making smooth progress.
"Why aren't we there yet? I'm getting tired of looking at the sea," Bi Bi Dong complained to Lin Yongming and Blue Silver Emperor.
When they first set sail, the unique scenery had excited Bi Bi Dong and Blue Silver Emperor. But after half a month, the endless expanse of water had become monotonous.
Both women were starting to feel bored.
"The sea is beautiful, but it's too monotonous. The endless blue doesn't compare to the vibrant landscapes of the mainland," Blue Silver Emperor sighed, sitting next to Bi Bi Dong and gazing out the window.
"Xiao Ming, what do you think?" Bi Bi Dong asked Lin Yongming.
"You're asking me? I'm blind. How would I know?" Lin Yongming replied, touching his nose.
"Oh, right. I forgot," Bi Bi Dong chuckled. "Xiao Ming, when will you be able to open your eyes? I really wish you could see right now."
"..." Lin Yongming fell silent.
"Alright, it's getting late. You should go back to your room," Blue Silver Emperor nudged Bi Bi Dong.
"No, I want to sleep with Xiao Ming," Bi Bi Dong pouted.
"Hmph, aren't you afraid your teacher might suddenly visit your room?" Blue Silver Emperor rolled her eyes.
"Hmm… What if you go to my room and pretend to be me?" Bi Bi Dong suggested mischievously.
"No way," Blue Silver Emperor refused.
"A'Yin, please? It's late. My teacher won't come looking for me. Even if he needs something, he'll just send someone to knock on the door," Bi Bi Dong pleaded, tugging at Blue Silver Emperor's arm.
"Fine, I'll go later," Blue Silver Emperor relented.
"A'Yin, you're the best! Let me give you a kiss," Bi Bi Dong said happily.
"Get lost! Go kiss Xiao Ming," Blue Silver Emperor pushed Bi Bi Dong's face away.
"Hey, you two are treating me like an object being passed around," Lin Yongming complained.
"Shut up!" Both women turned and snapped at him.
"Ugh, if you're so brave, why don't both of you come at me?" Lin Yongming muttered under his breath.
"What did you say?!"
"...Nothing!" Lin Yongming quickly shut his mouth.
Finally, around 9 p.m., Blue Silver Emperor went to Bi Bi Dong's room, leaving Lin Yongming and Bi Bi Dong alone.
"Sigh, Dong'er, this is too risky. You shouldn't have stayed," Lin Yongming said helplessly.
"Fine, if you don't want me here, I'll go back to my room. You've already forgotten about me after just a short time. How sad," Bi Bi Dong pretended to be heartbroken.
Lin Yongming sighed, knowing she was just acting. "Alright, you can stay."
He grabbed Bi Bi Dong's hand and pulled her close.
"Xiao Ming, it's only been a month, but I've missed you so much during these nights without you," Bi Bi Dong said softly, leaning into his embrace.
"Dong'er, I've missed you too," Lin Yongming replied, breathing in her scent.
"Hmph, you're lying. You have A'Yin, but I only have you," Bi Bi Dong pouted.
"Really, you're you, and A'Yin is A'Yin. You're both equally important to me. I think of you every night," Lin Yongming assured her.
"Hehe, that's more like it," Bi Bi Dong smiled happily.
"Alright, it's late. Let's go to bed."
"Mm!"
The next morning, Bi Bi Dong woke up early, dressed, and returned to her room to fetch Blue Silver Emperor.
"Oh, look who's glowing this morning," Blue Silver Emperor teased.
"Shush, hurry back to your room. It's almost dawn," Bi Bi Dong blushed and pushed Blue Silver Emperor out.
"Someone's feeling bold now," Blue Silver Emperor quipped before closing the door.
"Hmph!" Bi Bi Dong shut the door firmly.
At noon, Lin Yongming and the others gathered in the empty dining hall for lunch. Shortly after they sat down, a crew member rushed up to Qian Xunji.
"Your Holiness, a towering castle has appeared on the horizon!"
"Sea God Island, we've finally arrived!" Qian Xunji exclaimed, standing up. "Chrysanthemum Douluo, have everyone finish their lunch, then we'll head to Sea God Island at full speed."
"Yes, Your Holiness."
