"Cardiac arrest patient! Beginning CPR immediately!"
Seoul Central University Hospital's Emergency Medical Center.
This place was the true frontline of life and death.
When a patient in cardiac arrest was brought in, the medical team had only a few minutes to act.
Any delay beyond that meant certain death.
Dr. Junhyuk Han, a specialist in emergency medicine, examined the patient with sharp eyes.
A male in his 60s, suffering from acute myocardial infarction. He had been in cardiac arrest for over two minutes.
"Administer 1mg of epinephrine!"
"Prepare the defibrillator!"
The nurses moved quickly.
Without hesitation, Junhyuk placed his hands on the patient's chest.
"One, two, three!"
He continued performing chest compressions, sweat forming on his forehead.
However, the ECG monitor remained flat.
"If this continues, we'll have to call time of death."
Someone spoke grimly, but Junhyuk refused to give up.
"Just ten more seconds."
As he pressed down on the patient's chest one last time—
Suddenly, his vision blurred.
"What…?"
The patient's body became transparent before his eyes.
His heart expanded in view, revealing even the smallest blood vessels.
—Left Anterior Descending artery, 90% occluded.
—Thrombosis detected.
—Immediate thrombolysis required.
Junhyuk instinctively made a decision.
"Prepare thrombolytics (TPA)! Administer it immediately."
"…Doctor?"
"Hurry!"
Normally, a thrombolytic agent was not used on a patient in cardiac arrest.
But Junhyuk was certain.
"TPA administered!"
And just seconds later—
"Beep—!"
The monitor displayed a heartbeat.
"We have a rhythm!"
Cheers erupted among the nurses.
But Junhyuk couldn't fully celebrate.
What did I just see?
Did he just look inside a patient's body and detect a blood clot?
That was impossible.
"Emergency System Activated."
"'Eyes of Life' has been unlocked."
A mysterious message appeared before his eyes.
