Chapter 25

"Is this for real?" The owner of the third chess club, Xu Jinfu, was surprised to hear that Xiao Zhang had lost in a peak-level match again.

That wasn't unusual for him, but the fact that he had been brought to tears was shocking, especially considering he had been defeated by two babies who hadn't even weaned yet?

"Hey, how's Xiao Zhang doing?" Xu Jinfu sighed, his curiosity piqued.

"He's fine, just like usual. He recovered quickly and is already back to playing with others," a fellow chess player reported honestly.

"I knew it. Xiao Zhang has the potential to be a chess king. Losing won't defeat him—it will only make him more determined to win," Xu Jinfu said confidently. "Go tell him to finish his game and then come over."

The chess player nodded and went off to relay the message.

Not long after, Xiao Zhang arrived, looking well-rested and full of energy.

After playing against another third-dan player, he realized that it wasn't such a big deal. It felt similar to his match with the Jia brothers, but the roles were reversed this time.

Xu Jinfu looked at the rejuvenated Xiao Zhang and smiled. "Zhang Zongwei, I heard you lost to two babies this afternoon."

Hearing this, Xiao Zhang's expression dimmed for a moment as his memories of the match resurfaced. He felt embarrassed. "I just won a few games against some third-dan players..." he muttered to himself.

Xu Jinfu noticed his change in mood and laughed. "Tell me about these two babies. I'm very curious to know how they play."

Xiao Zhang, a little shy, started explaining. "They were introduced by Uncle Bai. Their playstyle is very unique, almost like a hybrid of computers and humans, but considering their age, it's kind of understandable."

Xu Jinfu nodded thoughtfully. "Such young kids, and they're already capable of beating third-dan players? They must be true prodigies. Can you introduce me to them? I'd love to watch their gameplay."

"I'll ask Uncle Bai," Xiao Zhang replied, his mind still on the earlier events.

The conversation shifted to discussing chess strategies and other casual matters.

The next day, the two brothers were still a little sleepy in the morning, but luckily, they were quite smart, so there wasn't much to worry about.

Zhen Linqi was busy arranging for a foreign language tutor, while Chen Lina stayed in the room, watching over the brothers as they slept.

Jia Fuhai and Zhen Linna were in the living room, playing a motion-sensing game on the TV.

Seeing their interaction, Zhen Fugui felt a twinge of jealousy but quickly suppressed it. Jia Fuhai, with his thick skin, completely ignored it.

When the two grandsons woke up, Zhen Fugui quickly shifted his focus, jumping up to help them get ready.

"Na Na, come on, we need to grab the kid's food," Jia Fuhai said as his son got up, readying himself.

"Ah! Oh no, oh no!" Zhen Linna cried in frustration when Jia Fuhai didn't help her and she was left to handle it alone.

After a while, she tried to feed Jia Naji. "No, Mom, I can do it myself," Jia Naji said, frowning at her clumsy handling of the spoon.

Zhen Linna laughed and grabbed him anyway, cooing over how adorable he was. But Jia Naji was not impressed. He longed for a more composed mom, like Qi's mother.

After breakfast, Jia Fuhai suggested a walk in the park. Everyone agreed, except for Zhen Linqi, who was busy reading.

The park they visited was in a high-end neighborhood, with beautiful landscaping and a small park nearby. It was a regular spot for them.

While being pushed in the stroller, the two brothers started communicating. They were still infants, but due to their fast development, everyone could understand them.

"Bro, I don't like coming out to play. It's so restricting," Jia Naji complained, pouting.

"Me neither. If it weren't for the stroller's safety belt..." Jia Qiyi started, but quickly stopped when he saw his father's disapproving look.

The brothers had once managed to unbuckle the stroller's safety belt, but it had been replaced with a more secure one. They tried again and again to break free, but after a few warnings from their parents, they finally calmed down.

"How cute!" A young woman who saw them couldn't resist trying to pinch Jia Naji's cheeks.

"No!" Jia Naji protested, flailing his arms.

He had realized that women were often drawn to him, and he hated it. He wasn't ready to bear such attention at his age.

On the other side of the park, Old Bai, who was playing chess with someone, received a message from Zhen Fugui.

"I'm taking my grandsons to Baihu Park. Are you coming? Bring your chess set."

Seeing the message, Old Bai immediately stopped the game he was losing and stood up.

"I'm going to see Zhen's grandsons," he muttered, ignoring the murmurs of those around him.

"Ha! Can't handle losing, huh?" someone mocked.

"Yeah, can't take a loss," another chimed in.

Old Bai ignored the comments and quickly left the scene.
