Chapter 4

The alas, the bright moon hangs high, not shining for a person alone.

Elowen was too dazzling,

Always surrounded by all sorts of outstanding men,

Just being able to stay by her side was already a blessing to be grateful for,

He built the best private hospital in the country for her, making her the owner,

He wasn't worthy of her, he could only do his best to give her the finest.

Until Elowen found him,

She was sick, very seriously, with only less than three months left.

She refused his offer to treat her, only wanting the status of his wife.

Like an absurd beautiful dream,

Playing a desperate waltz.

A mutual friend once asked him:

"After Elowen is gone, will Insomnia really remarry you?"

"Of course, Insomnia won't fall for anyone but me."

"But don't you think what you're doing is a bit too much?"

The crimson at Grey's fingertips flickered,

As if seeing Elowen's beautiful body again,

With the unique coolness of a woman, melding with his burning heat,

Steamy mist blurring the memories.

Grey curled his lips,

"It's not that bad."

"I hope you can laugh till the end."

In the evening, Grey returned to the villa he shared with Insomnia. As he step through the door, he's struck by how empty it feels.

Not that it's actually empty - everything is as it always was.

The same minimalist modern industrial style I designed,

The same black, white, and gray furniture color scheme,

Except the quirky dolls are missing from the sofa,

The weird magnets are gone from the fridge,

And the familiar Hello Kitty sheets are no longer on the bedroom bed.

Not a single trace of Insomnia remains to be found.

It's as if she never lived here at all.

Mrs. Bennett walks in carrying a mug of stomach-soothing tea. Grey looks up,

His deadened eyes suddenly sparking with life.

Of course, even in leaving Insomnia would have made arrangements for his care.

How could he have thought she would abandon him?

Surely her talk of never seeing each other again was just angry words spoken in the heat of the moment.

Once the Elowen situation is resolved, he'll give Insomnia the wedding of the century,

He'll clear up the misunderstanding, restore her honor.

He'll make her the happiest Mrs. Grey in the world.

Lost in his own thoughts, Grey completely misses Mrs. Bennett's hesitation to speak.

The coughing finally snapped Grey out of his post-danger euphoria and back to reality.

Elowen leaned against the master bedroom doorframe, coughing violently.

Grey immediately scooped Elowen up in his arms, laying her on the bed,

And brought the tea in his hand to Elowen's lips for a sip.

After catching her breath, Elowen clutched Grey's sleeve tightly.

"Grey, I want to sleep with you."

"Is that okay?"

Grey furrowed his brow slightly,

"But your condition..."

It wasn't that he didn't want to or wouldn't allow it,

He was worried if Elowen's body could withstand the pain of their passion.

"Grey, please don't let me have any regrets, okay?"
