Valentine's Special Novel 2025
At the Eternal Spring
A land where the cold and the warmth of light intertwine in perfect harmony.
Today is a special day for the people of Earth.
...
"I'll be back soon."
A colossal being spoke with her usual gentle voice.
"Must you leave so early?"
The voice that answered belonged to a teenage girl, though her mannerisms and speech were rather masculine.
"I won't make it in time otherwise. I'm leaving now."
The massive being replied. Though her tone and demeanor showed no urgency, it still left the teenage girl bewildered.
She departed without looking back, passing through a dimensional portal that connected to a planet.
"....."
"?????????"
"She must be upset about something."
The girl stood dumbfounded for about half a minute before coming up with an explanation for her beloved's peculiar behavior.
.....
"My Goddess...? Isn't it still early?"
Upon entering another world, the massive being emerged from a small room that concealed the interdimensional portal into a great hall.
An elderly woman with small wrinkles etched across her face noticed the being's arrival and inquired with surprise.
Because here, on her homeland, it was still early; the sunlight just broke the day. She had only just picked up her broom to clean the great hall, which resembled a Christian church on Earth.
"I wanted to finish before noon today. I'm sorry to trouble you, Orenuaa."
(Pronounced O-ren-ya)
The being whom the elderly woman addressed as "My Goddess" placed the basket she had brought from the Eternal Spring on one of the long benches near the church's pulpit.
She spoke with a slightly apologetic tone.
"Not at all, My Goddess."
"Goddess rarely visits me, It's never any trouble at all."
The elderly Orenuaa responded with an extremely respectful tone and manner as she walked to one of the church's pillars to set down her broom.
Today was a special day.
A delightful occasion in the tiniest fraction of The Goddess's tediously long life.
Though there was no need to celebrate the earthly festival, she wanted to do something special on this rare and special moment.
She had an appointment with the elderly-looking woman to learn how to make desserts from her culture, just as they had done twice before.
"Don't worry about me, I can wait."
The Goddess saw Orenuaa about to set down her broom to begin the lesson, so she quickly stopped her.
"But the temple is quite large, Goddess. It takes considerable time to clean. Didn't you want to finish before noon?"
Orenuaa saw her respected guest trying to stop her, so she wore a puzzled expression.
"...ah...yeah…..What about Oswald? has he not awaked yet?.."
"Or perhaps my sizzy daughter could do it instead?"
Goddess fell silent for a moment upon hearing Orenuaa's question before muttering softly.
She then asked about the elderly woman's son before inquiring about her own adopted daughter.
"My son said he would go hunting for beautiful gifts for us both since yesterday, Goddess. He should return around late morning."
"As for Vreya...."
"...Just a moment, Goddess."
The elderly woman explained to Goddess slowly. Though concern for her son flashed across her face briefly, she was confident he would return safely.
Then she thought of her beautiful daughter-in-law before pausing for a moment.
It was still early morning, and being elderly as she was, she always woke up to do her daily tasks before the young ones.
She thought her daughter-in-law was still sleeping and didn't want to disturb her, but remembering that the Goddess had asked about her, she decided to go wake her up.
"Let's not. I was just missing her and wanted to say hi, but it would be better to greet each other with fresh faces rather than sleepy ones."
The Goddess spoke up to stop her again, making Orenuaa who was about to turn around pauses in place.
She was about to say something but suddenly...
*Whoosh*
The Goddess raised one of her slender arms and swept it through the air, causing a gust of wind to surge through the grand hall. The force was so strong that the glass windows throughout the structure trembled, on the verge of shattering any moment.
Dust that was on the floor here and there, was swept away through the entrance, leaving not a speck behind.
"....My Goddess, what troubles your heart? If Orenuaa can help ease your burden, please do not hesitate to tell me...."
As the wind subsided, Orenuaa stood still for a moment before turning to face the Goddess. She had noticed the Goddess's peculiar actions and demeanor since her arrival, so she spoke with a voice filled with concern, tinged with reverence.
"....."
"Hmm... Let us head to the kitchen first."
The Goddess turned her face slightly away upon hearing those words, before turning back again with a sigh.
.....
"D'Atch, hurry up! I want to go now!"
At the heart of what appeared to be a grand hall, a young girl's cheerful voice rang out.
"Not so fast!"
Following that was a young man's voice, responding with slight annoyance.
"Where are you two heading?"
A girl with star eyes addressed the cheerful girl with a masculine demeanor.
"Big Po! D'Atch is taking me on an outing!"
The young girl answered with her usual enthusiasm.
"Hey! D'Atch! Isn't that not your planet's culture?!"
'Big Po,' as the girl called them, turned to face one corner of the grand hall and spoke loudly with a rather serious expression.
"She heard about the festival from Gon last time, so she wanted to make this a special day..."
"Papie, why are you here alone? Shouldn't you be spending time with Mamie Mae'Xheeiaa?"
(Pronounced May-Free-A-Ya)
A young man with half-white, half-black hair emerged from his room and addressed Big Po with a genuinely puzzled expression.
"She has a baking appointment with Orenuaa and left a while ago..."
"I have nothing to do, so I thought I'd find something to pass the time while waiting for her here..."
Big Papie replied to D'Atch, the young man with black and white hair, with a somewhat dejected expression.
"Oh... I thought you two had an argument..."
"Well then, we'll be taking our leave."
D'Atch walked over to the smiling young girl before addressing Big Papie— Just call me God or something. No need to be weird like D'Atch calling me Papie. I still find it weird even if it's coming from him.....
For those readers who might not know, our mischievous young girl is actually a god who often breaks the fourth wall to chat with readers— yes, you tell em.
"We didn't have any argument! But I wanted to ask—"
The God began to protest against D'Atch's assumption but suddenly remembered his beloved's strange behavior earlier and turned to ask the two, only to find they had already left.
It's all your fault!
My apologies.
.....
"….Goddess... On my world, here, we have a saying similar to the Terrans: the taste of the food depends on the emotions of its maker."
"Though I shouldn't meddle in your affairs, but—"
Orenuaa sitting across from the Goddess on a dining table broke the silence with a concerned voice, but before she could finish, the Goddess raised her hand to stop her.
Since entering the kitchen, the Goddess had seemed deep in thought, sitting quietly without a word. This prompted Orenuaa to gather her courage and speak up.
Though it might have been considered presumptuous, she was, after all, the source of her own son's craziness.
....
"I don't know how to put it into words."
Silence enveloped the kitchen for a moment before the Goddess finally spoke, as she too could no longer bear the tension.
"Did you have a quarrel with His Majesty, My Goddess?"
Orenuaa asked again, her expression growing slightly more serious.
If true, this could become a universe-level problem.
"No..."
The Goddess's response was brief, but her tone wasn't curt—rather, it was filled with confusion.
Orenuaa decided not to press further, allowing the Goddess time to sort through her feelings and speak when she's ready.
And just then...
"Mother... are you down there...?"
Another woman's voice called from behind the door on the other side of the kitchen entrance.
Creeak...
"!!!"
"Goddess!"
When she opened the door into the kitchen, her face showed surprise.
She quickly bowed deeply to the Goddess.
"Vreya...how are you?"
Seeing her adopted daughter, the Goddess's eyes softened and she asked with love.
"Little young is well, your holy one!"
"Mother, are you alright?"
Vreya was still in her nightgown. Earlier, she had been startled awake by the sound of the Goddess's gust of wind.
She had searched all around the house; unable to find her mother Orenuaa, she started to grow worried. When she heard the talking in the kitchen, she rushed here.
Upon seeing Orenuaa was with the Goddess, she felt slightly relieved and asked her with a serious expression and tone.
"Hm? of course I'm alright, child? What a strange question?"
Orenuaa answered her daughter-in-law while furrowing her brows slightly.
"Just now I heard what sounded like a door being kicked, I thought-"
"Vreya. Why do you seem so tense when speaking to me, yet appear so casual with your mother-in-law?"
Vreya was about to ask her mother-in-law but was interrupted by the Goddess first.
Her tone carried a hint of displeasure and sounded somewhat harsh, causing Vreya's eyes to widen slightly while her mouth hung open without letting out any sound.
She glanced at her mother-in-law and saw her subtly pointing her thumb at the Goddess, trying hard not to be noticed.
Vreya understood immediately.
Sour mood!
"Little young hasn't seen you in so long, my beloved Godmother, and I just woke up. Please don't take offense..."
Vreya's form of address and tone to the Goddess changed instantly.
In truth, although she was adopted by the Goddess, got brought back to life once again by her, and the Goddess herself had long ago told her to be casual, Vreya still maintained a sense of humility, feeling she shouldn't act too familiar with her.
Having just woken up and being startled had caused her true feelings to guide her words just now....
"And you needn't be so formal either, Orenuaa."
Silence filled the kitchen for a moment before the Goddess turned to the elderly woman and spoke with a slightly sad and dejected tone.
"Mother... is something troubling you...?"
Orenuaa didn't say anything but smiled faintly at the Goddess's words.
Vreya, sensing the Goddess's distress, walked closer and asked with a serious yet sweet-girly tone.
....
"Rub, look! Sister's glowing so brightly! Is something wrong with her?!"
A green-skinned being spoke with slight panic.
Around her neck hung a necklace with a bright red gem inside a locket.
At this moment, the gem was emitting a soft red light with a pinkish tinge.
"Father said when Sister glows like this, it means someone is afraid..."
"Are you afraid of something, Rozetta?"
A fluid-like being with blue skin asked her younger sister while slightly furrowing her brows.
"No?"
"Rubaegia... are you there? I went to look for Rozetta but she wasn't-"
"Ah! You're both here. Nice!"
While Rozetta was contemplating whether she was afraid or not, the deity in the form of a teenage girl appeared in Rubaegia's large house.
"Father?" "What is it, Father?"
The dryad and the slime girl responded to the deity almost simultaneously.
"Your mother has been acting strange today... I came to ask for your opinions."
"I've been thinking hard about it, but I can't figure out if I've done anything to displease her?"
The God asked his children seriously.
"Why ask me? Don't you spend more time with her than anyone?"
Dryad Rozetta spoke with a puzzled expression while gesturing to emphasize her confusion.
Meanwhile, Rubaegia said nothing but turned her gaze to the necklace around her sister's neck.
"Well... I don't know! You both have feminine characteristics, I thought you might have some advice..."
The God furrowed his brows deeply before gesturing as well.
"Do I look like a girl, Daddy!?"
Dryad Rozetta instantly transformed from a beautiful woman into a handsome young man while speaking in a teasing tone.
"Hey, I'm being serious!"
The First didn't find it amusing at all. He spoke to his child with a slightly stern expression, making Rozetta's smile fade immediately.
"Father, think carefully. Have you done anything to displease Goddess Mae'Xheeiaa?"
Rubaegia, who had been quiet for a while, noticed that the soft pink light had grown slightly stronger since her father arrived, so she responded with equal seriousness.
She guessed it must be the fear coming from her father.
"uhmmm..... No? I've been interacting with her with no fuss?"
"Today is special, it's the Terrans' day of love.... I was planning to hug her to my heart's content for all 24 hours, so there shouldn't be anything for her to be displeased about...."
When the two daughters heard that their father planned to hug their adoptive mother, they either made gagging gestures or awkward smiles, unable to handle the sweetness.
"The last time.. and the time before that, I did the same thing, and she was fine???"
The First gradually recalled memories after the major incidents and found nothing out of the line, making him furrow his brows even more deeply.
"Hah?....I think I kinda know it now!"
"What! Tell me. Quick!"
"I think it's because you've done the same thing three times, that's why Goddess Mae'Xheeiaa is displeased!"
Rozetta, who had been floating in a daze from the excessive sweetness, spoke to her father with an awkward expression.
"Mm... that's possible, Father."
Rubaegia the slimey added with an expressionless face.
"What???! How?!!? I don't understand at all?!?!"
The First furrowed his brows even more severely than before.
"Think about it, Father. This is the third time Goddess Mae'Xheeiaa has put such effort to make sweets for you on this special occasion."
"It might be true that you might hug her all day to show your appreciation, but have you tried thinking from the perspective of someone who is 'NOT' 'A' 'FIRST' 'BEING'???"
Rozetta explained quickly at first before slowing down and emphasizing the words "First Being" with a slightly teasing manner.
The First turned his face slightly to the side, his expression growing increasingly puzzled.
"What sister means is, if you're not an omnipotent being who can do everything, you only have a hug. While Goddess Mae'Xheeiaa went to such lengths-"
"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
Before Rubaegea could finish her explanation, the First let out a long exclamation of understanding.
"That's right!"
"Thank you so much, my beloved children! I must hurry now!"
"Oh, and don't wear it for too long. Though your sister may be the Origin of fear, she seems quite playful in nature."
The First's furrowed brow relaxed as he thanked his two children.
Before departing, he turned back to speak to Rozetta one last time, then immediately flew away.
..
"No wonder you were quite high."
Hearing her father's words, Rozetta quickly removed the necklace.
Rubegea turned to her sister with a broad teasing smile.
At that moment, the pink light had already begun to fade slightly.
...
"Why didn't you just tell his holy one directly?"
"Yes, why indeed?"
Vreya spoke in a sweet voice while pouring liquid substance into paper molds.
Her mother-in-law nodded in agreement while looking at the Goddess.
"....I don't know... Part of me wanted to tell him directly, but another part knew if I did, he would surely overthink about it..."
"By the way, Orenuaa, I told you not to be so formal. You're sure as stubborn as your son."
The Goddess spoke hesitantly while arranging dessert decorations.
Upon hearing Orenuaa's words, she briefly shook off her unease and playfully chided her.
"But I haven't been formal for a while, have I? I use this way of speaking because it's my species' custom."
"My son and daughter may speak casually with you, but I was ingrained with this since childhood... Ah! I speak this way because I want to show you proper respect!"
The elderly woman spoke with an expressionless face before furrowing her brow briefly and exclaiming as if scolding herself.
Why am I rambling excuses? Speaking truthfully and not lying to myself is the best.
Her daughter-in-law heard this and laughed softly.
"Very well then, do as you wish."
The Goddess spoke with a slight smile.
…..
...
Time passed until noon.
"I'm back, my love...?"
The Goddess returned to the Eternal Spring carrying a basket full of desserts.
She walked into the great hall but found no one, so she searched for her consort.
Soon, however, she saw the form of a teenage girl floating into the great hall, which made her smile faintly.
"Come taste this! I think I like these snacks! They're like the cupcakes Gon once brought us, but the texture inside is much chewier!"
The Goddess looked down at the dessert basket, gently lifting the cloth and taking out a paper-cupped confection.
"….What's this?"
"For you."
But when she looked back up, she saw the teenage girl's small palm offering her a beautiful bracelet made of various colored gemstones.
Goddess Mae'Xheeiaa's face showed slight surprise.
"Did you... make this yourself?"
Soon after, she asked with a smile on her face.
"If I told you I didn't conjure it, would you believe me?"
The God smiled sheepishly while averting his gaze, slightly embarrassed.
"Hehe... Thank you very much, dear."
The Goddess laughed softly twice before extending her hand to accept the bracelet and wear it on her left wrist.
...
"Here, try it."
After putting on the bracelet, the great hall fell into silence for over a minute, making the God furrow his brows slightly in confusion.
The Goddess noticed this and broke the silence by offering the dessert while inviting her consort to sit at a nearby table.
When they sat down, the God took the dessert and pinch a bite.
Seeing his expression after tasting it, the Goddess smiled again but said nothing.
This action made the God feel even more uncomfortable than before.
"She's never been like this..."
He thought while setting down the small cup-shaped dessert.
"Mae'Xheeiaa... have I done something to displease you?"
These two supreme beings had lived so long that even they couldn't remember every detail.
Though they had only recently had the chance to experience love, in matters like this, they would always speak openly and directly with each other.
"..."
The Goddess sat silently saying nothing, though the emotions visible on the lower half of her face clearly showed she was feeling quite awkward herself.
...
"Alright then! Today I'll indulge all your wish!"
"Whatever you desire, whatever you want to do, I'll do everything for you!"
...
"Though it may be a childish way to make amends, I promise I'll ease your displeasure myself..."
They sat in silence for a moment until the God, having run out of options, earnestly proposed this most innocent solution.
"....."
"Very well. Let's go!"
The Goddess sat quietly for less than half a minute, seemingly having thought of something, before accepting the agreement and gently pulling the teenage girl's small arm to rise from the table.
"Wait, wait! Where? No need to rush!"
The God was slightly surprised that such an innocent promise had worked.
"Since today is a special day for the Terrans, we're going to Earth!"
.....
..
"You must return to your true form!"
The Goddess quickened her pace slightly while explaining in a rather cheerful voice.
However, she stopped abruptly and turned back to address the God in the teenage girl's form seriously.
"Huh? We're going to the Earth but in my true form? I don't think that will be appropriate?"
The God felt slightly confused about why they needed to risk mortals' lives by returning to true form.
While one part of his wanted to comply with the request, another part also worried about the owner of this body; he felt his consort surely wasn't serious, just speaking this way because her anger had been healed.
"No! You must return to the form!"
"Taking our child along when it should be our special opportunity - that's what I think is inappropriate."
However, Goddess Mae'Xheeiaa repeated firmly with a very serious tone.
She fell silent for a moment before explaining earnestly as if she had some plan.
"...Alright..."
Feeling the seriousness in her words combined with the explanation, the God nodded slightly.
The next moment, the teenage girl's form that reached only to the large being's abdomen transformed into a brilliantly luminous form as tall as the Goddess's chin.
The next moment, that luminous form
was gradually covered by dark brown skin appearing along with fabric fibers.
The transformation process took only a few dozen seconds before a tall, slender dark-skinned man emerged from where the teenage girl had been.
A human male, tall and slender, with dark brown skin, wearing long straight-leg trousers,
a somewhat fitted white shirt and black leather jacket over it, short black hair with slight graying, arranged in a neat style.
And most essentially...
Rectangular glasses, to prevent everything on Earth from being destroyed.
"Where shall we go first?"
The God extended his right arm to his consort and spoke with a slightly serious expression.
"Too show off!"
Seeing this, the Goddess quickly grabbed his right hand and hurried him toward the dimensional gate connecting to the Earth while speaking teasingly.
The God being pulled along behind her couldn't see the radiant smile that now appeared on his consort's face.
.....
"Wait a moment... Don't you think you should adjust your form a bit?"
"A wedding dress with a dark-skinned man - anyone who sees might think I've kidnapped a bride from nearby!"
Having arrived in the human world,
the Goddess had taken her consort to drink sweet beverages at a café in America.
While drinking through a heart-shaped straw, the God noticed several people stealing glances occasionally, so he asked his consort with a smile.
The Goddess's current form indeed looked like a woman in a wedding dress.
"Oh?! I completely forgot about it.... We'll deal with it after we finish drinking!"
Goddess Mae'Xheeiaa looked around and found they were indeed being stolen by their glances, so she decided to adjust her form after finishing their business here.
.....
"Do you really want to play with such childish things????"
Next, the Goddess had brought her lover to Thailand and was holding tickets to ride a pure white carousel.
The God, though having objections but already holding tickets, asked his consort again while slightly furrowing his brows.
"Don't you want to?"
However, the Goddess simply turned to him and gave a short answer with a beautifully smile.
The two were the main focus of attention from people walking by this amusement park.
One was a man who appeared to be a foreigner, tall and slender with extremely handsome features.
The other was a woman with skin so radiant it seemed almost unreal, along with a figure taller than the dark-skinned man beside her, and her large-brimmed hat.
And most curiously, drawing the most attention from the onlookers:
She had a soft white cloth hanging from her hat covering both eyes,
making the onlookers wonder greatly how she could see her way.
...
"Mmm, a bit dizzy, but quite fun?"
"Should have brought our child, she would have loved it."
While enjoying themselves on the carousel, the God spoke while nodding slightly in approval.
"I wouldn't allow it. Let today be just for the two of us, my beloved. I want just… us!... to have fun, and only just… the two of us!"
Hearing that, the Goddess spoke while leaning toward her consort.
....
"I love you!"
Next, the two were standing at the edge of a cliff, gazing contentedly at a giant waterfall before them.
Goddess Mae'Xheeiaa screamed out in a prolonged voice toward the waterfall then smiled faintly.
"I love you too!"
"But it would be better if you would stop being mad at me!"
When the Goddess's voice ended, the God called out in a prolonged voice after her...before changing to just shouting longer sentences loudly instead.
As the pronouns changed, the love they held grew even greater.
(In my language the god was using different pronouns for his love until this moment.)
The Goddess said nothing but secretly laughed softly at his action.
.....
"The day is almost over, but I'm still not satisfied being with you..."
Next, in a barren area,
the two were holding hands on a large rock eroded by time into a unique shape.
The God spoke with genuine regret in his voice.
Dusk had long since fallen, and they had spent the entire day playing together.
"This time... would you hold me?"
The Goddess moved to stand before her consort before speaking somewhat awkwardly.
It was clear that this is the first time she wanted her consort to do as she asked.
"But….have I not held you every time?"
Hearing his consort's ambiguous words, the God furrowed his brows slightly in confusion.
"I mean... this time I want to be in your embrace..."
The Goddess Mae'Xheeiaa spoke again with slight shyness but didn't turn her face away.
"Oh....."
....
"Are you still mad at me?"
Understanding the meaning his consort wanted to convey, the God expanded his form to be somewhat larger than her before pulling her into his embrace and sitting down on the large rock together.
Since no living beings were nearby, the skin that blocks his true forms seemed to be loosened, revealing white luminous lines throughout that dark brown skin.
He rested his head on his consort's shoulder before asking in a sweet, gentle voice.
"Hehe... I was never mad at you?"
The Goddess turned her face and rubbed her face against her consort's nose while answering adoringly.
"Hah! Then what was wrong?"
Hearing this unexpected answer, the God raised one eyebrow slightly before staring at his consort.
"Nothing at allll"
..
"Look, they are so beautiful....."
"When we look from the children's perspective, it makes you seem even more beautiful than before."
The Goddess smiled before answering in a playful tone,
before slowly raising her face to look at the stars on the sky and admiringly praising her consort.
"...."
The God heard that playful answer and felt quite confused, but when topic got forcefully changed, he stopped wondering and admired his old body beyond the sky.
Whatever the reason, I am so happy today.
He felt deeply touched and grateful for both her and this day.
"...But I still think you're more beautiful."
They were quiet for a moment, before the God turned to his consort and spoke teasingly, making they both laugh happily.
"You have been through thick and no thin, great sorrow, much depression ever since I woke up... If this special day could be used for an excuse to make you happy and ease your pain….. even just for a small moment, I'm too, happy with you…."
The Goddess Mae'Xheeiaa thought to herself.
Her gaze through the soft white cloth fixed on her consort's eyes with adoration as they held each other tightly with love and swayed slowly together.
Valentine's Special 2025
The End
…..
"Goddess forgot to buy us a new one….."
Orenuaa mourned as she held the broken broom in her hands while Vreya trying to comfort her.
