Chapter 5. Meeting Someone from home

The rude man opened the bedroom door and pushed Hong Mei inside.

He then closed the sliding door and wanted to kiss the girl's lips but Hong Mei pushed the man and blew white powder into the man's face from her palm which made the rude man faint shortly after.

'Brukk'

The sound was heard as the man fell to the floor. Hong Mei tried to take a breath to calm herself before looking around and found a window on the side of the bed then she opened it and the sunlight suddenly entered which made Hong Mei a little dazzled.

She looked at the man lying down once again to make sure he was really unconscious then climbed the window and slowly went down. The window faced the main road which made Hong Mei visible from the view of people passing by.

The people looked at her curiously but Hong Mei who had managed to get down immediately ran through the sea of people who were surprised by her behavior. A beautiful girl who looked panicked and could not be disturbed.

Hong Mei continued to run quickly out of the village, her mind now focused only on avoiding the soldiers who would likely chase her shortly after the rude man woke up from his fainting.

She didn't know where to run and ended up walking through the forest far from the village entrance and kept running until she felt safe, she often used qing gong to speed up her running when she felt tired of running.

When she came to her sense, Hong Mei looked around her.

The trees surrounded her again but the bushes only grew in some places, the white ground covered in dry leaves and the sound of flowing water entered her senses.

She followed the sound of the flowing water and found a river, an exhausted Hong Mei leaned under a tree near the river. She had been running for hours and thirst was gnawing at her throat.

Hong Mei plucked a large leaf from the tree and bent the tip and scooped up the clear river water which she then used to quench her thirst.

"Puahhh, huh, these humans are so strange, why am I still involved in trouble even though I look the same as them?" she muttered to herself.

Hong Mei took off her shoes, her feet felt sore and numb she had used all her strength to run, but when she was thinking about why she was actually running while the humans were not better than her made her wonder and hit her own head.

"You idiot!"

Just because she previously met two human cultivators who wanted to sell her she couldn't think critically, this was all their fault.

Hong Mei grumbled with her face flushed with heat, she was tempted to see the clear river water and looked around to make sure no one would bother her, she took off her outer clothes and only had white underwear covering her body.

Slowly Hong Mei went down into the river and dived her head, she swam and also caught fish with her magic and after catching a lot she went up to land and placed the fish that were wriggling on the ground.

She cleaned the fish with her magic and lit a fire, waiting for the fish to cook after stabbing it with a twig. This afternoon this was the only thing that would fill her stomach tomorrow she planned to go to the nearest city and look for the information she needed.

Evening came, the sun begin to slowly setting down .

Hong Mei took a nap after eating and she didn't want to wake up for now until the sound of chaotic water ripples reached her ears. A white shadow and two black shadows passed not far from her sight, each shadow released their magic that destroyed half the forest not far from where they fought.

The explosive magic shown by the black shadows to the white shadow exploded above the water, they flew above the river and the black shadows combined their powers to attack the white shadow which was then blocked and returned to the two black shadows which made the black shadow's body explode and disappear from sight, nothing was left of them, the white shadow who then landed on land lost its balance, vomited blood and fainted shortly after.

The shadow turned out to be a beautiful woman whose human form then changed into a white snake lying on dry leaves on the edge of the river.

Hong Mei was surprised and she immediately approached the unconscious snake. "Hei, are you okay?" she patted the weak body of the white snake.

Night had fallen and the bonfire grew bigger. Hong Mei had given her healing magic to the white snake earlier and its condition had improved, all that was left was waiting for the snake to regain consciousness. The aroma of grilled fish that Hong Mei was grilling filled the air. The white snake slowly opened his eyes, his stomach growling and he looked around warily before seeing a beautiful girl with her pink hair tied in a ponytail in front of him.

She transformed back into her human form, her figure that was as beautiful as the full moon was clearly visible now, her black silk hair fell like a waterfall below her waist. Her face was very beautiful and clean like a shining pearl. Hong Mei turned her head towards her and saw that the young girl was awake. "Are you hungry? Want to eat this?" the fox girl asked without further ado.

The snake girl looked around and found no one but the two of them. "Who are you?" she asked warily.

"I helped you earlier, you fainted on the riverbank where I was resting, how are you now? Are you better?"

"You saw my real form earlier, right?" the girl asked seriously, she was very sensitive right now.

"Yes, then?" Hong Mei asked confused, she wondered if it was forbidden?

"You didn't ask what I am?"

"You're a white snake? Oh yeah, what's your name? Where are you from?" Hong Mei asked casually while eating her dinner. She took a cooked fish on a skewer and handed it to the girl. The girl didn't take it and stared dangerously at Hong Mei.

"Don't look at me like that, I have no ill intentions towards you, I come from Qing Qu, I'm a fox spirit, don't worry, I don't eat snakes" Hong Mei blinked at the snake girl whose alertness had decreased. She let out a sigh of relief and her tense body relaxed a little.

"I-I… also come from Qing Qu, my name is Hua Baiyu, what's your name? Thank you for healing me, I owe you a favor"

"It's okay, I don't expect anything in return. Oh yeah, my name is Hong Mei"

"Hong? Princess Hong?"

"Eih, I'm not a princess now, maybe when I was in Qing Qu I was a princess but here I'm just a fox. Just call me Hong Mei, I don't mind"

"Okay if princess say so"

Then the two girls talked at length about their situation until the moon hanging above the sky slowly went down and the sun slowly replaced it.

Apparently Hua Baiyu came to the human world to look for her sister who had not returned home for a long time she managed to find clues about her sister and followed her sister to where her sister was which turned out her sister was captured by a spirit trader. She was very angry when she found out and wanted to teach the trader a lesson then she told her sister to go home first and would follow after. She didn't know that the spirit catcher was great so she was overwhelmed and almost died because she lost the battle she was lucky Hong Mei ealed her when her internal organs were injured earlier.

"Then, where do you want to do now?" Hong Mei asked Hua Baiyu.

"I haven't managed to eradicate them all, so after I recover my strength I plan to attack them again" Hua Baiyu sound very serious now.

"Can I come along? I still have time now before I have to return to Qing Qu in a few days."

"Sorry I don't want to bother you with my revenge princess I didn't dare"

"Hey, don't say that, I also almost had a grudge against that spirit trader but fortunately those two people didn't intend to sell me otherwise my fate might have been almost the same as your sister"

"Huh? Who would dare to do that to you princess?"

"human, but it's okay they didn't do it"

"You don't want to take revenge for their treatment?"

"Hey, how could i? they are good people and I am indebted to them. So Hua baiyu. Can I come along? I see your inner strength is also high where did you learn it?"

"I learned it from my ancestors"

"ahh understandable"

"But princess, I mean Hong Mei, I wonder what your reason for coming to the human world is?"

"I just want to try a new training technique, I wonder if using a method like that can increase my cultivation quickly"

"Ahh I understand"

The sun had started to rise slowly.

The two beautiful girls planned to bathe in the river first before starting the day.

Not far from that the horse galloped and stopped when a young man ordered the people behind him to stop. He saw a horned deer walking behind the bushes.

The young man slowly got off his horse.

"Don't follow me, just wait here!" and ordered the people behind him to stop following him. The people obeyed his words and did not dare to approach. The young man took his bow and arrow then positioned his arrow to shoot the target.

'Shussh'

The arrow went into the wrong direction and surprised the deer which then ran deeper into the forest, the young man chased it persistently and tried to shoot again but also missed. "Damn!" The deer ran faster and stopped and fell when this time the arrow shot by the young man hit its back and penetrated its stomach.

"Yes finally!" The young man clicked happily and ran to get his prey. He approached the deer lying on the edge of the river. But his smile stopped when he heard the sound of some women joking and laughing coming from the direction of the river not far from where he was.

The hair on the back of his neck stood on end when he thought maybe it was a ghost or evil spirit that inhabited this forest. He let his deer lie on the ground and his feet stepped looking for the source of the sound.

But it was different from his imagination of an ugly ghost that would appear from the direction in front of him. Instead he saw two beautiful girls who were bathing and chatting in the river. Their crisp laughter seemed like a beautiful melody singing in the air. The young man was silent and fascinated by them. This was a rare beauty. His mind screamed happily.
