New Combat Skill, Rend Claw

At night, Kael opened the Herbal Compendium to study how to maximize the effects of the Deep Blue Healgrass.

The Centipede clearly had a higher racial grade than the Moonlight Fox, and its aggressive nature made it a formidable opponent. Moye, with its inherent disadvantages, was already at a disadvantage.

Thus, Kael had to ensure Moye's strength improved significantly within these two days. To achieve this, Kael stayed up late to master the preparation of the healing potion.

The process of preparing Healgrass wasn't overly complicated. It involved soaking the plant in water, separating its stems and leaves, chewing them into a paste, and then using soul energy to integrate it into the Soul Pet's body.

Healgrass had two primary effects: the first was to heal wounds, and the second was to strengthen the Soul Pet's claws. Obtaining three Deep Blue Healgrass plants was indeed fortunate, as such herbs were valued at around one gold coin in the market—enough to purchase a mid-grade Soul Pet.

The next day, Kael didn't have Moye practice. Instead, he carefully applied the prepared potion to the wounds on Moye's paws.

"Whimper~~" Moye extended its tongue, gently licking the cuts on Kael's hands.

"These minor wounds will heal quickly. We only have a limited amount of Healgrass, so it's best not to waste it on me," Kael said with a smile, stroking Moye's head.

"The effects of the potion will last about half a day. During that time, try not to move your paws. For the rest of the day, take it easy. We'll practice Rend Claw tomorrow," Kael instructed.

"Whimper~" Moye lifted its head, its smooth tongue licking Kael's cheek.

"Are you saying you want to practice tonight?" Kael was surprised, looking at the seemingly delicate yet fiercely determined little creature. A smile spread across his face as he said, "Alright, we'll practice tonight. Let's aim for a complete victory against that Centipede!"

The strengthening process was straightforward. Once completed, Kael returned Moye to the Soul Pet Space.

The effects of the Healgrass were remarkable. What would have taken two full days to heal was now fully restored in just half a day! More importantly, within that short time, Moye's juvenile claws had advanced from the initial stage to the intermediate stage.

Though still juvenile claws, when Moye extended them, they gleamed with a sharp, menacing light, far more offensive than before.

That night, Kael took Moye to the same grassy area as the previous day.

"Moye, use your full strength. Let's see how many strikes it takes to bring down these trees," Kael said.

Moye let out a soft cry, dashing forward with agility. The silver moonlight bathed its pristine white fur as Moye leaped gracefully, its claws slicing through the tree trunk!

"Swish!!"

The first strike was deep, sinking at least three to four centimeters into the wood.

"Swish!!!"

The second strike followed, creating a visible crack in the trunk.

"Swish!!"

The third strike sealed the deal, and the tree, deprived of its support, creaked and slowly toppled over.

"Three strikes!! Excellent, truly excellent!!"

Kael was thoroughly pleased with Moye's performance. Just yesterday, it had taken Moye seven strikes, with its claws worn and bleeding, to bring down a tree. Now, it only needed three, and its claws showed no signs of wear.

"Now, let's try 'Rend Claw,'" Kael said.

Rend Claw was a skill possessed by most clawed Soul Pets, and it was one of the most direct and effective offensive techniques. If Moye could master this skill, tearing through the Centipede's defenses would be no issue.

Typically, once a Soul Pet's juvenile claws reached the intermediate stage, it could unleash Rend Claw.

Skills were innate to Soul Pets, much like how fish instinctively learn to swim as they grow. Similarly, Soul Pets naturally acquired essential combat skills as they developed, without needing explicit training. The key was to hone these skills in battle.

"Ready?" Kael glanced at Moye, who nodded earnestly.

"Alright, use Rend Claw!" Kael commanded.

Upon receiving the order, Moye's nimble body shot forward, this time at full speed, converting its velocity into power.

In the darkness, a silver streak flashed as Moye leaped into the air, tracing a graceful arc. Its claws, gleaming with a cold light, slashed through the air.

"Swish! Swish!"

The Rend Claw strikes overlapped, the sound crisp, as if slicing effortlessly through water.

"Crack~"

The next moment, the ten-centimeter-thick tree emitted a harsh groan before slowly toppling over.

"Excellent work!" Kael smiled, seeing Moye's attack power significantly enhanced.

"Whimper~" Moye trotted back, equally excited.

"Keep practicing. Make sure each strike is as perfect as possible. Remember, your opponent won't be stationary like these trees," Kael reminded.

With its attack power boosted, Moye was full of enthusiasm. It immediately locked onto another tree and charged forward at Kael's command.

This time, Moye misjudged the distance during its leap, failing to deliver the same devastating strike as before, leaving only a shallow mark on the tree.

"Don't worry. With more practice, you'll master it," Kael reassured.

Kael spent the entire night training Moye's Rend Claw. By the time the moon hung low in the sky, he returned to the wooden hut with an exhausted Moye.

Although Moye's juvenile claws were now at the intermediate stage, using Rend Claw still caused some wear. Kael prepared another batch of Healgrass and applied it to Moye's claws, ensuring it would recover its fighting strength by the next morning.

The following day, Moye's claws had grown even sharper. Kael devoted the entire day to training Moye's Rend Claw, ensuring it could execute the skill from any angle or position.

"Swish! Swish!!" Two cold streaks of light crisscrossed, instantly slicing the tree trunk tossed into the air into several pieces. As the trunk fell, Moye's graceful figure landed lightly on the ground.

"Perfect. Maintain that fluidity. Running, leaping, striking, and landing—each movement should be seamless, leaving no openings," Kael said.

"Whimper~" Moye let out a soft sound, its eyes brimming with confidence.

"Let's end today's training early. Rest well tonight. We'll prepare for the battle tomorrow."

As evening fell, Kael took Moye back to the wooden hut.
