Perilous Encounters

In the dark cell, Reno and Ella were surrounded by a depressing atmosphere. Ella's body trembled slightly, and her eyes struggled to adapt in the darkness, attempting to find a glimmer of hope.

"Don't be afraid, Ella. We'll find a way out." Reno's voice rang out in the silence. He tried to make his tone firm and steady, attempting to bring some sense of security to Ella.

Ella hugged her arms tightly and nodded. "Yeah, but this cell seems so solid. Can we really get out?" Her voice carried a hint of fear and uncertainty.

Reno took a deep breath and began to grope around the cell. His hands touched the cold walls, feeling every subtle bump and dent. Ella followed his actions, carefully exploring.

"Maybe we can find some weak spots." Reno said as he kept groping.

Suddenly, Ella slipped and nearly fell. Reno quickly reached out and supported her.

"Be careful!" Reno's voice was filled with concern.

Ella's hand touched Reno's strong arm, and a strange warmth welled up in her heart. But the current crisis made her have no time to think more.

"Thank you." Ella said softly.

Reno didn't respond and continued to focus on looking for flaws in the cell. After a while, he seemed to have discovered something.

"Ella, come here. There seems to be something different here." Reno called to Ella.

Ella hurriedly walked over and found some fine cracks in one part of the wall.

"This might be our breakthrough point." Reno said and began to try to smash open the cracks with his fist.

Ella also joined in, and the two worked together. However, the wall was too solid, and their efforts didn't achieve much.

"This won't work. We have to think of other ways." Reno stopped and panted.

Ella leaned against the wall and sat down helplessly. "Are we really going to be trapped here?" Tears glistened in her eyes.

Reno looked at Ella's dejected look and felt a pang of compassion. He walked to Ella's side, squatted down, "Don't give up. We will definitely get out."

Just then, Reno heard a subtle sound of flowing water.

"Ella, listen. There seems to be water flowing." Reno said excitedly.

The two groped along the direction of the sound and discovered a narrow drainage outlet.

"Maybe this is our chance." Reno's eyes lit up.

Ella looked at the narrow drainage outlet and hesitated. "Can this work? It looks too small."

Reno stepped forward, observed carefully, "Although it's small, it's worth a try."

Saying that, he began to try to dismantle the grating of the drainage outlet. Ella also came forward to help. During this process, their hands touched inadvertently many times. Each contact made their hearts ripple, but the tense situation at the moment made them have no time to think carefully.

After some effort, they finally removed the grating. However, as Ella had worried, the drainage outlet was very narrow and could only allow one person to pass through.

"Ella, you go out first. I'll follow." Reno said.

Ella shook her head firmly. "No, you go first."

"Don't argue. You're petite and can pass through more easily." Reno's tone was unquestionable.

Ella bit her lip, knowing that time was urgent and didn't decline. "Then you must follow."

Ella carefully climbed into the drainage outlet. Reno carefully pushed her from behind and constantly encouraged her.

Finally, Ella successfully climbed out of the drainage outlet. She lay on the ground, gasping for breath, her heart filled with worry for Reno.

After a while, Reno also struggled to squeeze out. The two looked at each other, their eyes filled with the joy of survival.

"It's not the time to relax yet. We have to quickly find evidence to prove our innocence." Reno said.

Ella nodded and stood up. "Okay, let's be careful."

They quietly shuttled through the passages of the alliance headquarters, each step cautious, afraid of attracting attention.

At a corner, Ella accidentally bumped into a box, making a dull thud.

"Who's there?" The voice of the patrolling soldier immediately came.

Reno's heart tightened and quickly pulled Ella into a hidden room.

The room was filled with sundries and the space was narrow. The two leaned closely together, not daring to breathe.

The footsteps of the patrolling soldiers lingered outside the door, each step seeming to step on their hearts.

After a while, the footsteps gradually faded away, and the two then let out a sigh of relief.

Reno and Ella's bodies were somewhat stiff due to tension. They looked at each other and saw fatigue and persistence in each other's eyes.

"Let's continue." Reno said.

Ella uttered an "Um" and followed Reno out of the room.

They came to the alliance's confidential archives, where various important files and materials were stored.

"We have to find useful information as soon as possible." Reno said and began to search among the rows of filing cabinets.

Ella also concentrated on flipping through the documents. Suddenly, she found a suspicious file.

"Reno, look at this." Ella said in a low voice.

Reno came over, took the file and read it carefully.

Just then, a 整齐 set of footsteps sounded outside. It sounded like there were quite a few people.

"Not good. Someone's coming." Reno's expression changed.

"What should we do?" There was a hint of panic in Ella's voice.

"Hide quickly!" Reno pulled Ella and hid behind a row of filing cabinets.

The footsteps got closer and closer, and their hearts rose to their throats.

The door was pushed open and a group of soldiers walked in.

"Check carefully. Don't miss any clues." A person who seemed like an officer said.

The soldiers began to search in the archives. They were about to search the place where Reno and Ella were hiding.

At this critical moment, Reno's communicator suddenly rang.

The soldiers' attention was attracted by the sound of the communicator and they walked towards the direction of the sound.

Reno and Ella took the opportunity to quietly escape from the archives from the other side.

"That was close." Ella patted her chest, still feeling scared.

"But we haven't found enough evidence yet." Reno frowned and said.

"Then what's next?" Ella asked.

"Let's go to the monitoring room. Maybe we can find some clues there." Reno said.

The two walked towards the direction of the monitoring room. However, they didn't know that the Shadow Organization had already set numerous traps there, waiting for their arrival.
