At that moment, a strange smell filled the air. It was a metallic, sickly-sweet scent, like rusted iron. And with it came a sight that made the three girls scream in terror.
Blood—endless amounts of blood—sprayed from the bar's ceiling like a fountain, drenching the partying men and women below. Some screamed like Sharice and her friends, but many others welcomed the blood, opening their mouths wide, revealing grotesque, twisted expressions.
The people who had been kissing moments ago turned into savage predators, their sharp fangs gleaming as they bathed in the crimson rain. They clutched onto the confused and terrified bystanders, sinking their teeth into them, indulging in their gruesome feast.
For these creatures, the bar was a banquet hall. For the helpless victims, it was hell.
Sharice clung to her friends, weakly collapsing against the bar counter—the only place untouched by blood.
Beside her, the woman's cold lips pressed against her cheek as she whispered, "I warned you not to stray too far from me."

A million feet above the Earth's surface, Zhou Yi floated in the endless expanse of space, silently gazing at the planet below. The unfiltered sunlight poured over him, filling every cell in his body with warmth and power.
This wasn't his first time coming this far from Earth. From this vantage point, he could see past the planet's shadow and glimpse the distant sun. His enhanced vision allowed him to see everything below, every tiny detail, no matter how far.
He could see millions of people in New York. He could see orbiting satellites, floating aircraft carriers, and even hidden targets deep beneath the earth. His senses extended even further, tracing those he was most familiar with—his mother, his sister. He could feel them all.
Bathed in golden sunlight, Zhou Yi's eyes shimmered like molten gold, reflecting the vast world before him.
The energy from the sun nourished him, fueling his vision and every fiber of his being. He felt like he could exist forever, needing neither food, water, nor air—only the boundless cosmic radiation to sustain him.
But such an existence was boring. He much preferred life as a human.
His golden eyes locked onto Sharice's location. With a burst of speed, he shot toward the Earth, moving faster than he had come.

"Commander, our satellite has detected an unusual heat signature moving at Mach 25, escaping our surveillance," a technician reported aboard the airborne carrier.
"Deploy all available satellites to track it. Report its position. And get me a visual!" the female commander ordered coolly.
"Target acquired. Image transmission in progress... but we've lost visual contact."
The commander stared at the holographic display as the blurry image sharpened into focus.
After a brief silence, she issued another order.
"Notify the Director. Seal today's events in the archives—Level Seven clearance."
As the technician carried out her command, the holographic image fully resolved, revealing a figure blazing through the atmosphere, trailing fire.

Boom!
The underground nightclub trembled as an enormous fireball smashed through layers of concrete, crashing into the darkness below. Smoke, dust, and blood filled the air, silencing the chaos. Only the pounding bass of the music remained.
A few unlucky ones caught in the impact were instantly incinerated. A survivor, attempting to flee, was suddenly grabbed by the throat and lifted into the air.
"Sharice, you three—get behind me!" Zhou Yi commanded, golden eyes sweeping the room.
"Yi?! Why are you here?!" Sharice stammered, her mind unable to process her brother's dramatic arrival.
Her friends were equally stunned. After all, not everyone made an entrance like a human cannonball.
The vampires, once reveling in their feast, grew restless. They bared their fangs, letting out low, guttural growls, ready to strike.
Zhou Yi ignored them, studying the vampire in his grip. He pried open its mouth, examining its fangs with curiosity.
"What are you? Vampires? This is interesting," he remarked.
With a slight squeeze, the vampire's neck twisted at an unnatural angle. It didn't even have time to scream before bursting into flames, turning to ash.
The scene was like a drop of water hitting boiling oil—chaos erupted instantly.
The vampires could no longer contain their instincts. They lunged at Zhou Yi in a frenzied wave.
Sharice and her friends screamed as blood-drenched faces and feral snarls closed in on them.
But then, something unexpected happened.
Zhou Yi didn't flinch. He threw a single straight punch at the nearest vampire. The force sent it flying like it had been hit by a speeding truck, slamming into the others behind it. The impact sent dozens crashing into walls, scattering like ragdolls.
A fiery trail marked their demise as they burned to ashes.
The club fell into eerie silence once more.
"Human, leave this place. Take your friends and go. We'll pretend you were never here," a voice finally spoke.
A mysterious female vampire stepped forward. Unlike the others, she hadn't attacked. Instead, she stared at Zhou Yi cautiously.
The other vampires hesitated before stepping aside, forming a path to the exit.
Clearly, this woman held authority over them. But Zhou Yi's overwhelming display of power played a part in their sudden retreat.
Hearing her words, Zhou Yi chuckled. He turned toward her and took slow, deliberate steps forward.
"What gives you the confidence to speak to me like that?" His golden eyes blazed with power. With each step, small stones lifted into the air, disintegrating into dust. The entire club trembled beneath his presence.
At this moment, he was like a god—majestic and untouchable.
The female vampire trembled as deep, primal fear gripped her. It wasn't a fear born of logic or emotion, but something buried in her very bloodline. As an ancient vampire, she hadn't felt this kind of fear in centuries.
In her endless lifespan, only one thing had ever evoked such terror—the sun.
Watching Zhou Yi approach was like staring directly into the sun. And for a vampire, that was the very essence of horror.
But just as she braced for her inevitable end, a shimmering purple barrier appeared between them.
"Sharice, what are you doing?!" Zhou Yi snapped.
Sharice had stepped in front of him, blocking his path.
She looked up at him, serious and unwavering. "Brother, you can't hurt her. She protected us!"
Zhou Yi's expression darkened. His intense gaze made Sharice's friends cower behind her.
But she refused to back down. In her eyes, Zhou Yi saw something rare—conviction.
He slowly raised his hand. Sharice instinctively shut her eyes, bracing for a slap.
She had made a huge mistake tonight. If her brother was angry, she was ready to accept the consequences.
But instead of a strike, she felt a warm hand ruffle her hair.
Sharice peeked up to see Zhou Yi's exasperated expression.
"You thought I'd hit you?" he asked.
"I thought you were really mad and needed to vent," she muttered.
"I am mad. But I don't take it out on my sister. That being said, we're having a long talk when we get home. Now, take your friends and go. Wait for me there."
Sharice pouted but obediently opened a teleportation portal. Before stepping through, she hesitated.
"Promise me you won't hurt her. I think she's a good person."
"I promise," Zhou Yi sighed.
Satisfied, she vanished into the portal.
Zhou Yi let out a long breath, then turned back to the vampire.
"Having a troublemaking sister is exhausting," he muttered. "Now then, Miss Vampire—what's your name?"
"...Nissa. Nissa Makinos," she answered hesitantly.
Despite her fear, she found herself compelled to respond.
Zhou Yi's golden eyes locked onto hers, filled with curiosity.
"Alright, Nissa. Let's talk."
