Naruto recovered quickly.
Due to the immense vitality of the Nine-Tails' chakra, his body healed at an astonishing rate. This was the very reason why Naruto's injuries always healed faster than others.
In his past life, during his battle with the Kirigakure swordsman, Momochi Zabuza, Naruto had stabbed his own hand with a kunai to prove his determination. At that moment, Kakashi had watched in shock as Naruto's wound closed up before his very eyes, healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Now, Orochimaru was witnessing the same remarkable healing ability firsthand.
"Uncle Snake, I think I can open my eyes now."
Orochimaru paused, putting down the surgical tools in his hand. He walked over, inspecting Naruto carefully before asking, "Are you sure you can open them?"
Naruto nodded. "I'm sure. My eyeballs can already move flexibly."
Nagato, who had been watching from the side, let out a sigh of amazement. "You really are my kohai. You adapted much better and faster than I did."
Orochimaru considered it for a moment before remarking, "It must be the effect of the Nine-Tails' chakra in Naruto's body. Such chakra possesses unparalleled vitality."
With that, Orochimaru carefully removed the stitches and began unwrapping the gauze covering Naruto's eyes. One by one, the layers came off, revealing what lay beneath.
"Alright, Naruto-kun, you can open your eyes now."
Naruto rolled his eyes slightly before slowly parting his eyelids.
Orochimaru's eyes widened with fascination. His tone was almost reverent as he examined Naruto's new eyes. "Lavender pupils… with three concentric rings of the Rinnegan's ripples… These are truly the eyes of an immortal, capable of perceiving all things in this world."
His lips curled into a satisfied smirk. "Congratulations, Naruto-kun."
Naruto's mouth lifted at the corner. "I have to thank my Senpai for this. If he hadn't agreed, I wouldn't have been able to obtain this power."
Nagato smiled faintly. "Actually, I should be the one thanking you, Naruto. These eyes have carried countless burdens. Since I can no longer see clearly, I'll entrust you with the responsibility of pursuing the light of a new world in my stead."
Orochimaru let out a self-deprecating chuckle. "I won't lie. The first time I saw the Rinnegan was when I fought Pain. Back then, I tried countless methods to obtain these eyes. But in the end, I was completely overwhelmed by Nagato's puppets and suffered a miserable defeat."
Nagato's smile deepened. It was indeed the truth.
Orochimaru turned back to Naruto, continuing, "To be honest, when I was transplanting your eyes just now, there was a moment when I was tempted to take them for myself."
Naruto arched an eyebrow. "Then why didn't you…?"
Orochimaru sighed as he resumed tidying up the surgical tools. "In the past, I always wanted to be the wind that turned the windmill. But after meeting you, Naruto-kun, I've come to appreciate the joy of waiting for the wind instead.
He paused before adding, "Besides, things change over time. I am deeply curious about how the story between you and Sasuke will unfold. That curiosity is enough to keep me here, watching patiently for the storm that you will one day create."
Naruto chuckled knowingly. "Don't worry, Uncle Snake. I will bring you a new world of truth."
Hearing Naruto's confident declaration and sensing the sincerity in Orochimaru's words, Nagato felt at peace. He had entrusted his eyes to the right person.
While they were talking, Konan walked in, holding a set of clothes in her hands.
"Hey! Naruto—"
She stopped mid-sentence the moment she saw Naruto's new Rinnegan. A flicker of unease crossed her expression.
Naruto noticed and asked in confusion, " Konan-Senpai, what's wrong?"
Konan snapped out of her daze, shaking her head. "It's nothing… I just wasn't used to seeing your Rinnegan at first. You feel… different now. Colder. Like you've lost some of that warmth you used to have."
Nagato let out a chuckle. " Naruto has merely changed his eyes. Does it really make such a difference? Maybe when I transplant his old eyes, I'll turn into a warm-hearted guy instead."
Konan shot Nagato an unimpressed look before sighing and handing the clothing over to Naruto. "Now that your eyes have healed, you should take a look at the modified uniforms for the HEAVEN Organization, as per your request."
Naruto took the garments and examined the design. His face brightened with approval. "Not bad. Blue sky and white clouds… Yes, this is the uniform our HEAVEN Organization should have!"
He grinned. " Konan-Senpai is truly skilled. An expert at work."
A faint blush dusted Konan's cheeks at the compliment.
She quickly regained her composure. "I'll finalize the design, add rainproof material to the outer layer, and start production according to your size."
Naruto nodded in approval. "That's perfect. And while we're at it, I suggest making a few dozen extra in common sizes for backup."
Konan glanced at Naruto thoughtfully. The fact that he was requesting large-scale production of uniforms meant only one thing—he was planning to expand the organization.
Naruto met her gaze directly, his expression serious. "You're right, Konan-Senpai. If I'm ever away on a mission and unable to return to Amegakure, then the village could be vulnerable to attacks. That would be troublesome.
He exhaled deeply before continuing, "That's why our organization must continue to grow. I don't just want to become stronger—I want to lead this team so that we all grow stronger together."
His eyes gleamed with determination. "One day, we will become the true 'Heaven' of this ninja world."
